Chapter 4 Becoming His Wife

Fiona and Gloria instantly turned pale. Finally, with a shove from the bodyguards, they left, calling out Caroline's name as they were escorted away.

"Go change your clothes," Andrew said softly, covering her ears. His magnetic voice reverberrating in her ear.

Caroline nodded, and she quickly headed to the changing room. In no time, she had changed into a richly embroidered, elegant wedding dress and re-emerged before the crowd.

Her small, delicate face and slender waist, along with the veil over her shining hair, were striking. On Caroline, Eileen's dress didn't just fit—it was captivating.

Andrew's gaze shifted away from her as he stepped forward, took her hand, and publicly declared, "From this moment on, she is my wife!"

The crowd erupted in cheers.

Surrounded by applause and excitement, Caroline was like, this is a bit surreal.

Although she knew it was just an act, the vibe of the crowd was contagious. Relaxing a bit, she smiled at it all.

After the wedding, as soon as they reached the backstage area, Andrew released her hand.

In fact, he had shown little to no emotion during the ceremony, but now his demeanor had turned even colder.

In the quiet room, Andrew's phone suddenly rang.

He glanced at the caller ID and said to Caroline in a detached tone, "Don't wander off. Someone will take you home in a bit."

Without waiting for her response, he hurried away to take the call.

"What is it?" he answered the phone, his voice icy.

On the other end of the call, Eileen's voice was on the verge of breaking, trembling as she spoke. "You really got married? You weren't joking just now?!"

The wedding had been filmed by over a dozen cameras, with drones following the entire event. It had already made headlines, sparking widespread attention and speculation.

Andrew replied flatly, "What else would you expect?"

"But you loved me so much before. We were meant to be together. Why couldn't you just wait for me?" Eileen sobbed, her voice so choked with tears that she could barely speak. "I'll stop all my work right now. Let's get married. I love you."

A flicker of something dark and unreadable passed through Andrew's eyes. After a moment, he lowered his voice, "It's too late. There's no turning back now."

Eileen's voice grew hysterical on the other end of the line, screaming and crying, no longer her usual poised and graceful self.

Andrew furrowed his brows, listening to her breakdown, yet his expression remained cold and emotionless.

From where Caroline stood, she could only see Andrew's profile. He was tall, handsome, and carried an aura of elegance uncommon among mafia figures.

But his icy expression and harsh tone made him seem unapproachable.

He had said someone would take her home…

But where the fuck was home now? Shit. She had no clue.

She was just someone dumped in the garbage by her family, with no place to call home.

Andrew had chosen to marry her today, likely because the wedding had gone pear shaped.

She figured the woman on the phone was probably the real bride of the day.

Suddenly, Caroline felt like she was unnecessary, even here.

She wandered numbly out of the backstage area. As she stood there in confusion, a hand suddenly grabbed her shoulder.

"Carol!" A worried voice called out. "Did you really marry Andrew? What about me?"

She turned to see a strikingly handsome face, his eyes filled with needy concern. It was her boyfriend, Ivan Hawk!
