Rebecca's eyes flew open as she felt his lips on hers.
What was Zachary thinking? For three years of marriage, he'd never touched her. Why kiss her now?
His kiss was fierce and urgent, almost painful. Maybe it was the alcohol, but Rebecca felt weak all over, her breathing ragged.
She refused to lose control. She stomped on his foot with her high heel.
But he didn't let go. He held her tighter, kissing her even deeper.
"Am I not enough for you, Rebecca? Is that why you're chasing other men?" Zachary sneered, his face full of mockery. His hand slid under her dress, fingers trailing along her soft thigh.
He pushed her dress up further, touching her sensitive spots through her underwear. "Just a kiss made you wet? You must really want it."
Rebecca felt both embarrassed and furious.
Yes, her body reacted strongly to him, but that didn't mean she actually wanted to sleep with him!
She was completely over him. She didn't want a future with him anymore.
"Zachary, you're disgusting!" Rebecca glared at him, biting her lip.
"I'm disgusting?" Zachary withdrew his hand, forcing her to look at the moisture on his fingertips. "Seems like you're enjoying it. You're so desperate..."
Rebecca looked away, flustered.
Zachary grabbed her face, leaning in to kiss her again.
Rebecca desperately tried to avoid him, but the more she resisted, the more he pursued.
"Zachary, aren't you worried about disappointing your precious Danielle?" Rebecca pushed his lips away forcefully. Zachary froze.
"You shouldn't be messing around with your ex-wife. Go take care of Danielle. Hurry up and marry her."
Zachary remained silent.
Right. Wasn't that what he always wanted? To divorce Rebecca and marry Danielle? Why was he here with his so-called ex-wife?
After all, Danielle had almost died trying to save him! He had promised to treat her well forever.
Rebecca saw his reaction and felt her heart break again.
He really only loved Danielle. He never cared about her at all.
"Zachary, I don't want to love you anymore," Rebecca said, composing herself. She smiled casually. "Never again."
With that, she straightened her back and walked away, her demeanor carefree.
She'd had enough disappointment. It was time to end this.
She'd humbled herself for him, cut ties with her family for him, fought kidnappers for him—everything, absolutely everything, had been for him.
But he never bothered to even look at all she'd done.
Zachary stood there dazed, watching Rebecca's retreating figure. He wanted to chase after her, but after a moment's hesitation, he didn't move.
Rebecca's words echoed in his ears as he leaned against the wall, feeling lost.
She said she didn't want to love him anymore... never again.
Zachary returned to the villa and wandered through the empty rooms. In the master bedroom, he picked up the divorce papers from the bed and examined them closely.
Rebecca really had signed them. She wanted to divorce him! She was serious!
Feeling increasingly agitated, he loosened his tie.
His phone suddenly buzzed. Zachary grabbed the device and stared at the screen, hoping it was a message from Rebecca, wanting to reconcile.
However, the message was from his mother.
[Zach, Grandma Helen's 70th birthday dinner is all set. It's going to be a big celebration. Helen's insisted multiple times that you and Becky must attend. No excuses!]
Zachary rubbed his temples, feeling frustrated.
He and Rebecca were about to divorce—this birthday dinner couldn't have come at a worse time.

The next day, Rebecca went to the Montra Grand Hotel.
Her father had called that morning, asking her to go to the Montra Grand Hotel. He said he had a surprise for her.
Arriving at the hotel’s banquet hall, Rebecca looked around. She didn't see any familiar faces, let alone any surprises.
What was going on?
Suddenly, someone exclaimed, "It's Mr. Adams! Mr. Adams is here!"
Rebecca froze, then looked up. Sure enough, she saw the last person she wanted to see—Zachary.
He wore a tailored suit that emphasized his tall frame. With his handsome face and prestigious status, he immediately became the center of attention, with many people trying to curry favor with him.
Zachary was perfect in every way, except for one thing: he didn't love her.
Next to him stood Danielle Rogers. She wore a little white dress, her makeup flawless, looking sweet and innocent.
The Rogers family was influential. Danielle's parents doted on her excessively, and she had three older brothers who adored her.
Rebecca and Danielle were close friends for years until they fell for the same man.
Their friendship was gone, and now, so was Rebecca's love.
Rebecca suddenly felt like such a failure.
She watched as Danielle clung to Zachary's arm, coaxing him. "Zach, let's have a candlelit dinner tonight. We can stay here at the hotel afterward."
"Whatever you want," Zachary said softly, patting her head.
Watching this scene, Rebecca's eyes stung, her heart start aching.
Only with Danielle did he show this gentle side.
They were going to have a candlelit dinner and stay at the hotel together. What would happen then was obvious.
Rebecca knew she shouldn't care, but her heart still hurt terribly.
Not wanting to show her vulnerability in public, she turned away clumsily, about to leave when someone called out to her.
"Rebecca!" The person calling her was, surprisingly, Zachary.
