After a lot of back and forth, they finally went on board successfully.
“I never thought flying would be this great! You can even lie down and sleep. It’s way better than taking a bus,” This was her first time to travel by airplane, so she was very excited.
“Idiot, so inexperienced,” Trevor muttered, eyes closed in rest. He always flew first class. If they were in economy class, they would not feel more comfortable than taking a bus.
All of a sudden, a thought crossed his mind about Layla’s love for food, so he sat up at once, stared at her, and said, “I warn you, the food and drinks on the plane may be free, but don’t you dare take advantage of it. I’m not about to embarrass myself with you.”
Layla’s enthusiasm instantly faded. She had been planning to eat and drink as much as possible since it was free. But she didn’t dare go against Trevor.
He glanced at her gloomy face and knew his warning had hit the mark.
The turbulence jolted Layla awake from her sleep.
“Ah! Help!”
“Trevor, get up! Oh! The plane is going to crash.” Layla screamed, her face pale with fear, while Trevor was sound asleep, completely ignoring her.
“Ah! What should we do? Where’re the parachutes?” Layla was so anxious, unable to stand because of the shaking, and ended up faceplanting on the floor.
Trevor finally couldn’t sleep peacefully anymore. He grabbed Layla and tossed her back into her seat. “Idiot, it’s just turbulence. Why are you freaking out? If you keep yelling, you’ll wake up the whole plane.”“””
A flight attendant heard the noise and came to see what had happened, and Trevor sent her away with fluent English.
Layla clung to him tightly, refusing to let go. She was frightened—suspended in the air with no wings, one wrong move, and she’d be done for! She was so young, and she didn’t want to die!
Seeing her pale and weeping face, Trevor became softhearted and pulled her into his arms, and comforted her gently, “Don’t be afraid. It’s common for airplanes to encounter airflow, and it will be fine after a while. Rest assured. I’m here.”
Layla felt so safe and warm in his arms that she gradually fell asleep again. When she woke up, the plane flew very smoothly.
“Baby, you finally wake up. Do you know you’ve been taking my arm as a pillow this whole time? It’s completely numb.” Trevor shook his arms.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to.” Layla was embarrassed and scratched her head.
“Alright. I don’t blame you,” said Trevor. Despite all the embarrassing things she had done on the trip, he thought about their upcoming wedding and decided to treat her more kindly, showing more care than criticism.
Nevertheless, Layla’s next words almost made him faint.
“Trevor, how to open this window? I want to get some fresh air. I wanted to do so last night, but you were sleeping all the time. I didn’t want to bother you!” saying that, Layla kept fumbling.
Trevor was dumbfounded, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.
“Hey, what are you waiting for? Are you going to help me or not?” While she was calling him, Trevor walk over and flicked her on her forehead.
“Ouch! What are you doing? It hurts!” She stroked her head with an aggrieved look.
“Idiot. Airplane windows are sealed. There’s no way to open them,” said Trevor.
“Really? Why?” Layla was astonished that there were windows that could not be opened, but she suddenly realized, “Oh, I get it! It’s like an air-conditioned bus—you have to keep the windows closed when the AC is on.”
Trevor was immediately speechless and shook his head reluctantly. Where did she come from, and how could she have no common sense? Once they were married, he’d definitely send her back to school—otherwise, she’d keep embarrassing him in front of others.
...
“People from Bilton are amazing! Even kids as young as three can speak fluent English, way better than me—a high schooler,” Layla couldn’t help but exclaim 48 hours after arriving in Bilton.””
Trevor felt very embarrassed. He rolled his eyes, nearly driven to madness. He couldn’t fathom how dense this girl could be, always saying such childish things.
Layla burst out laughing.
“Come on, don’t you have a sense of humor? I was just joking!” She had read this in a joke book before, and decided to try it out for real. She never expected that this serious guy would actually take it literally.
“You’ve got some guts now, huh? Not afraid of me anymore?” Trevor raised his eyebrows. A mix of emotions ran through him, feeling like his authority was being challenged but also finding this playful side of her surprisingly cute.
“Why should I fear you? We’ve just got our marriage registered. If you dare to bully me, I’ll expose your domestic violence. I’ll post about it online or call a magazine to blow the story wide open.” Layla teased, pushing her joke further.
Trevor’s expression suddenly darkened, his icy demeanor making Layla’s skin crawl with goosebumps.
Trevor was staring at her. Noticing her excited face suddenly became listless, he softened his expression and said mildly, “Layla, remember, we can’t go around announcing our marriage. It’s better for both of us. When school starts, don’t tell anyone either, okay?”
“Okay… I understand!” Layla nodded nervously, but she didn’t understand it at all.
Trevor immediately asked, “What exactly do you understand?”
“Huh?” Layla stammered, unable to answer under his intense gaze. After thinking hard, she ventured, “You’re super rich, and if bad guys find out, they might kidnap me and extort you.”“”“”
“Oh my god!” Trevor slapped on his forehead in frustration. How could she be so clueless?
“Am I wrong?” She asked carefully.
“I’ve told you, I’m only marrying you temporarily. Since we’re bound to divorce eventually, we have to keep the marriage low-key, or the media will cause trouble when we split.”
“I’m a business man, and divorce will harm my reputation. As for you, you’re a girl. If the media exposes the divorce in a big way, how will you live afterward? Who would dare marry you, knowing you’re the woman Trevor Moore discarded?”
Trevor explained the potential consequences carefully, ensuring Layla wouldn’t create any unnecessary problems.
“OK, I’ll keep it a secret.” Layla actually didn’t want other people to know she was married. She would be embarrassed to mention that because she was just eighteen years old.
“But many have already known that.” She thought of Trevor's family and hers, and the staff at the marriage registration office.
“You have no need to worry about this. I’ll handle it. Just keep your big mouth shut and don’t blurt it out, okay?” Trevor was very confident he could keep the news of their marriage under wraps. Besides, most people had enough sense not to gossip about it.
Trevor spent the whole day at Disneyland with Layla, and after a fancy dinner, they returned to their hotel.
“Go take a shower.” Trevor said to Layla while turning on his laptop to check some important emails from work. Once those were dealt with, he intended to fully enjoy their wedding night.
Noticing that Layla was still digging through her suitcase instead of heading to the bathroom, Trevor rushed over and snatched away her change of clothes.
“Hey! Give those back to me!” She tried to get her little bra and panties back, but failed.
“Just come out directly after shower. You won’t need those tonight.” He randomly threw those things away and gently whispered in her ear, “Baby, don’t forget, tonight is our wedding night.”
“Oh.” Layla knew what he meant, and her pale cheek blushed at once. Now that they were married, that annoying man had every right to act this way.
Trevor finished his work and quickly took a shower in another bathroom in the suite. When Layla still hadn’t come out, his patience wore thin. He was about to storm in and drag her out, but he found the bathroom door locked.
“Hey, are you dead in there?” He pounded on the door.
“No… I’m not,” Layla’s voice quivered.””
“Then get out.” Trevor’s thoughts began wandering to all sorts of places. The idea of Layla in the shower stirred his imagination, but with her hiding inside, he couldn’t see or touch her, leaving him frustrated.
After a tense half minute, the bathroom door finally opened. Layla was wrapped in a white bath towel, and her long hair dripping with water fell over her sweet shoulders, covering part of her charming clavicle.
A satisfied grin spread across Trevor’s face, and his earlier frustration vanished. He immediately scooped her into his arms.
“Stop...Wait!” Layla protested, but Trevor silenced her with a passionate kiss. After a long moment, he whispered, “Baby, I can’t wait any longer. A wedding night is precious.”“”
“It’s not that... I... I...” Before she could finish, Trevor stopped her with his heated kisses, taking full advantage of her softness.
His hot kiss was very domineering...
But as his hands wandered to a certain spot, he suddenly realized something was off.
“Wait. “Are...are you on your period?” Trevor frowned, as if the sky was falling down.
