Layla suddenly stopped and turned around. She was annoyed when she saw Reed leaning against the glass door of the dance room. Why was this jerk everywhere? How could he follow me to the dance room?
Seeing that she frowned, Reed felt somewhat happy, pacing to her side with a bad smile and taking out a stack of photos.
"Layla, do you think breaking my mobile phone would be the end of it? Look at these!" Reed smiled smugly.
After he bought Lily's phone, he immediately drove home and printed the photos. Then, he hurried back to the school to find Layla.
After asking around, he finally found her in the dance room.
"Reed, don’t you ever get tired of playing these childish games?" Layla said while tearing up the photos one by one.
"Absolutely not. Just tear them. I have a backup. Tear as many as you may, I'll just print them again." Reed threw his large backpack on the ground and sat on the floor, watching Layla tearing up those photos.
"You're so childish! What on earth do you want?" Layla threw the rest of the photos at Reed's head, and then put her hands on the waist, staring at Reed from the above.
"Answer me, who was the man with you yesterday?" Reed mentioned the question again.
Layla was stunned. Trevor had said they should keep their marriage a secret, and she mustn't blurt it out. However, if she didn’t tell him, she feared that the guy would defame her with more harsh words. He had the photos, so she had no room to argue.
Layla thought for a little while and told him, "A relative."
"Like, an elder??" Reed continued.
"What if he is? What? You don't want to revenge, do you?" Layla asked back, for she thought Trevor wasn’t someone Reed could easily mess with.. If this guy dared to do that, it would be asking for trouble.
Reed smiled and helped her pick up the torn pieces paper on the ground, "Good kid never drops litter."
"Are you out of your mind?" Layla wanted to kick him, but she resisted the urge, reminding herself the evidence in his hand.
Following Reed, who went to throw the scraps into the trash, she said, "Hey, listen, haven't you played enough tricks on me? Please delete those photos!"
"No, I haven't, and I don't want to delete them now." Reed didn't listen to her. She gritted her teeth in anger.
"What on earth do you want? Let's settle this once and for all!" Layla asked in anger.
"Layla, you were arrogant, weren't you? You dared to kick me. Why do you cower now? If you want a deal, I'll do it with you! From now on, you must listen to me and do what I ask you to do. After three months, I'll delete all the copies of those photos."
As Reed made his demands , Layla immediately began to bargain, "No, just one week."
"Two months!" Reed compromised.
"Just one week." Layla insisted.
"One month. There's no room for negotiation!" One month was his bottom line, and it couldn't be shorter, or he would have less fun from it.
"One week!"
"One month! If you disagree, I'll post the photos on the BBS at once."
"Okay, just one month!"
In the end, they reached an agreement.
"Reed, although I agree to obey your orders for one month, you can't ask me to do anything bad or dangerous. What's more, you must promise you won't reveal the photos in one month; otherwise, I won't let you go easily!" Layla pointed a finger at Reed's nose with an uppity look.
He pushed her hand aside, "I am a decent man. How can I ask you to do something bad or dangerous? Moreover, as long as you don't break the agreement, I'll never let the photos out. I promise with my integrity."
"You! You're not a decent man, and you have nothing to do with integrity! Ugh!" Layla said with scorn.
"Layla, like it or not, that’s the deal. Your master now is very thirsty. Go downstairs and buy me some cold water immediately. This is my first order!" Reed began to exercise his power at once. Layla was very angry; still, she stepped out of the dance room.
Layla had left for over half an hour. Reed's patience was wearing thin.
Finally, Layla went back with a bottle of pure water. She wiped away her sweat, throwing the bottle to him.
"Piggy Layla, why are you so slow? You're not just like a pig, but also as slow as a turtle." He was not thirsty at all, and it was even not an urgent matter; however, he became interested in why it took her so long to buy a bottle of water.
"What's more, what brand is it? You didn’t get me some cheap stuff that’ll make me sick, did you?" Reed looked at the water and didn't want to drink it.
Layla felt so hot that she was about to go crazy, so she immediately snatched the bottle, "I'll drink it if you don't want to. I'm thirsty!"
Layla crossed her legs sitting on the floor, uncapped the cap, and drank more than half the bottle in one breath.
"Hey! It's mine!" Reed was upset. She had been gone for over half an hour. And the water she bought for him was drunk by her in the end.
Layla rolled her eyes, "It's you who didn't want it. Here you are. There's still a little left. Drink it or not!"
Reed took it with an evil smile and came closer to her, "Piggy Layla, you're interested in me, right? You want an indirect kiss with me?"
"In your dreams!" She turned her head to the other side, avoiding looking at his hippie face.
Reed looked at the bottle for a while and drank all the water left.
"Now you are not afraid of getting sick, huh?" Layla asked.
"You drank it first. I have nothing to be afraid of. You little fool, did you get lost on campus? There's a shop under this building, it's five or six minutes' walk at most, but you've spent over half an hour. Where did you go?" said Reed, moving closer to her.
"You are a fool! Do you think everyone is like you, throwing money around without thinking? Do you know, the cheapest water in that shop costs over ten dollars, but that in the supermarket outside the campus cost just one."
"So, you mean you went out of the campus and bought me the water?" Reed looked at her with widened eyes and didn't believe what she said.
"Yeah! Do you mean I should be a fool and spend over ten dollars on a bottle of water?" Although she had much money with her, she was still not willing to spend money on unnecessary things.
"It's very hot today, even in the late fall! Didn't you get sunstroke running out like that?" Reed said and attempted to touch her forehead with his hand. However, before he reached her, his hand was swatted away by Layla.
"Are you okay?" Reed felt a bit embarrassed, "Actually, if you are short of money, just tell me. I'll offer the fund, and you buy things for me."
"No need to bother!" Layla stared at him, which made him suddenly feel a little intimidated.
"But, you don’t seem like someone from a poor family! You went to the most high-end seafood restaurant in Avalon, and your relative looks like a big cheese." It seemed like that Reed was either asking her, or talking to himself.
Layla didn't want to talk with him anymore. She stood up and walked towards the door.
"Hey, where are you going?" Reed hurriedly followed her to the door.
"Please, Pig Reed, I need to go to the washroom. Do you wanna follow me?" Layla turned back and said angrily.
His mind went blank for a little while, but quickly recovered, "Go, I allow it. Hurry back! You've got one minute only."
Layla didn't care about his one-minute regulation at all! Nobody could use merely one minute in the washroom; at least, she couldn't.
Layla wanted to calm down in the washroom, and she planned to run away through this way, leaving that creepy guy. However, it suddenly hit her that he had those photos, so she just washed her hands and walked out.
"Ah!" As soon as she stepped out of the washroom, she saw Reed standing still at the door like a utility pole.
"Reed, you're a pervert. You followed me here?" Layla was extremely unhappy, feeling more than a little violated.
"Piggy Layla, please pay attention to your wording. First, I'm not a pervert. Second, I didn’t go in, jut at the door."
"Third?" Layla asked impatiently.
"Third, I wanna know whether you've fallen into the toilet. It took you five minutes. I think one minute is enough! Oh, I forgot. Piggy Layla is a girl. Girls always have several days feeling uneasy every month! Okay, I can understand."
He said slowly, as if it were totally normal to bring it up..
Layla didn't want to reply. She went back to the dance room angrily, slumping on the floor.
"Come on, you're in a period. Don't sit on the ground. It's cold, and you'll have a stomachache. I won't help if you do." Reed acted as if he knew exactly what was going on, and he kept blabbing.
"Reed, why are you so shameless? Why do you care about girls' stuff so much? Listen, I’m not on my period, and I won’t be anytime soon. Stop worrying for nothing."
"Really?" Reed didn't believe her, "Then, why did you stay that long in the washroom?"
Layla didn't know what to say. How could there be such an evil man? Now he had controlled her because he had the evidence. Otherwise, she would have already kicked him away to the North Pole.
"Piggy Layla, don't be shy and admit it! I won't laugh at you. It's not a big deal. Let me find some Ibuprofen Pills for you, and then you won't feel painful."
"Reed!" Layla yelled at him, for she could not bear it anymore. It was the last straw.
