Chapter 7 Utterly Discomfited

Leo refused Sophie flatly.

For close friends like them, it's not anything at all to grant a request if in normal times, while, Leo was obsessed with catching the adulterer and there was nothing can distract him.

Obviously, Sophie was upset, and she couldn't help but complain, "Shut up, dude, for you I would do anything rushing to Singapore in the midnight, that creepy driver kept sneaking glances at me. Do you have any idea how scared I was?”

"Well, I'm sorry, I'll make it up to you later."

"Keep your compensation, you refused to pick me up even when I beg you, how iron-hearted you are!"

Leo became impatient, he said anxiously, "Not today, I’m unavailable for some emergencies. Next time I’ll certainly pick you up."

"What urgent matter makes you ignore our brotherhood, is it the matter of inviting me to dinner, what did your wife say to you?"

"Stop thinking nonsense, this none of her business!"

"Then tell me what has made such a big change in your attitude?"

Leo was at the end of his patience, he shouted at the phone," She betrayed me, and I'm going to discover her affair, now you get the thing!"

On the other side of the phone, Sophie paused for a moment and answered, "Don’t do anything stupid, wait until I come back."

After hanging up the phone, Leo had no desire to sleep anymore. Dimly, it popped into his mind that the happy time he once spent in love with his wife was just a dream.

He lit a cigarette to calm himself down and began to seriously reflect on why they get here.

What he couldn't figure out was that he had been married to Vivian for more than two years. As affectionate couple, they even seldom quarrel with each other.

He tried to recall the previous performance of his wife and ended up finding nothing unusual.

It was said that a woman who has cheated will easily show her emotions in her attitude and behavior towards her lover.

However, Vivian remained the same, caring for him and showing affection as a spry kitten when they were together. Could it be that everything was her disguise?

If that was the case, it was such a pity that she didn't become an actress. Leo wore a heavy look as he smoked one cigarette after another.

The more he thought about it, the more suspicious he became, and it weighed heavier on his mood. He suddenly felt that what he does next no longer seemed to make much sense.

The reason was simple: the evidence he got so far was more than enough to make a point.

Wasn't the fact she had stayed out at night, deliberately concealed herself, and slept over in the hotel with a strange man a strong evidence for her betrayal?

Although the matter of them staying in the hotel had not been finally confirmed, Leo had a hunch in his heart that it must have already happened.

What he found ironic was that, in fact, the thing he most wanted to prove was that if his wife had spent the night together with another man.

For Leo, as long as Vivian had not betrayal with her body, even if it was mental cheating, he might choose to forgive her.

He was like a drowning man trying to grab the straw that saved his life, to give his marriage the last glimmer of hope.

Time passed slowly, Leo kept watching in the car, not even eating lunch.

By four o'clock in the afternoon, Vivian's red Toyota approached from afar and parked directly near the entrance of the school.

Leo, who was drowsy, immediately waked up. He knew that a good show was about to take place!
