Chapter 17 Vivian’s Explanation

Vivian’s analysis was right. Before this happened, Sophie almost let go of Leo. After all, there were tons of other nice men out there. She did not want to become the other woman.

Although she felt reluctant, he was a married man. She could become friends with him, but she should not develop any affectionate feelings for him.

However, Vivian’s behavior made Sophie have second thoughts. Since Vivian did not appreciate Leo, why couldn’t she take him away from Vivian?

In the past, she thought this way of thinking was immoral, but now, it seemed pretty reasonable!

How could Vivian cheat on Leo yet at the same time expect him to be loyal to her? Who did she think she was?

Since Vivian could not stay faithful, Sophie thought she should let go of Leo as soon as possible.

Hence, she decided to not give up on this opportunity. Not only did she want to help Leo escape from a bad marriage, but she also wanted to make him hers using this chance.

...

After arriving at home, Leo slumped into the couch, and Vivian sat next to him.

Seeing Leo moving aside, Vivian moved closer to him, grabbed his arm, and looked at him with an aggrieved look.

Acting cute and weak was Vivian’s weapon. Every time Leo saw her behaving that way, his heart would soften.

Ignoring her, Leo pulled his arm away from her grip, took out a cigarette, and started smoking.

“Come on. Why are you smoking again?”

Snatching away his cigarette, Vivian put out his cigarette in the ashtray before hugging his arm again.

“Honey, you have to believe me. I will never betray you. I’d rather die than cheat on you.”

“Why did you lie?”

“My parents were here!”

Hearing that, Leo was stunned. What did she mean by that? Did that mean that he had parents-in-law? Instantly, his mind became a mess.

When they were dating, Vivian told him that her parents had already passed away. She said she was working in Samburg alone, and she had no relatives.

Indeed, except for her colleagues and friends, he did not see any of her family members during their wedding.

Leo always thought that she was an orphan. Never did he expect she would suddenly have a cousin and even parents overnight.

“I’m getting confused. Give me some time to clear my mind!”

Leo sat up straight and looked at Vivian seriously, “So you’re saying that your parents are here in Samburg?”

“Yes, and it’s not only them. My fifth uncle, fifth aunt, Mrs. Laura, and Brother Tommy are here as well.”

“Are they your biological parents?”

“Of course, they’re m biological parents.”

“Wait a minute, I’m still very confused. Let me think about it. You told me that your parents passed on ago. How did they suddenly pop out of nowhere?”

“I have reasons for saying that. I can explain to you.”

“Go ahead then!”

Leaning her head against Leo’s shoulder, Vivian said softly, “Honey, I ever escaped my wedding.”

“Was your fiance that guy names Tommy?” Nervous, Leo asked.

“Why are you talking nonsense again?”

Lifting her head, Vivian continued discontentedly, “I told you many times that he’s my cousin, and there’s nothing going on between us!”

“Anyway, I don’t like him!” Leo mumbled.

“What did he do to you? You guys just met, and you beat him up so badly. My parents are going to complain to me if they find out.”

“Stop talking to him in the future. I don’t like him!” Leo ordered overbearingly.
