Chapter 20 Seeing Her Parents

The call between the two women was short since it wasn’t anything complicated. After a few words, Vivian placed her phone casually on the cupboard.

"I'll go to wash my hair first. You’d better get ready too, we're leaving in a few minutes."

Leo responded with a yes. Right after Vivian left, he immediately picked up her phone again and unlocked her phone’s graphic lock to look through his wife's phone call history.

Apart from him, the majority of those who had contact with his wife were her colleagues, while the rest were express packages and takeaways. There was also nothing out of place in terms of her call frequency.

He then checked her WhatsApp history. All he could see were various groupchats with her colleagues and groups about makeup, fresh food, cakes and so on. These were all normal social groups and there were no strangers found in her list of friends.

The only noticeable change was that Vivian followed a postpartum care centre, and even asked them for advice on pregnancy preparation.

Leo couldn’t help but laugh. He was well aware that his wife is fond of children and wanted a baby of her own very badly. The two of them had also planned to have a child.

He just didn't expect she’d act so quickly. Not only did she plan to prepare for pregnancy already, but she even contacted a postpartum care centre.

Putting down the phone, Leo felt much at ease. However, he still felt something was out of place, yet he couldn’t pinpoint what exactly was unusual.

After packing up, the two of them drove to Renaissance Hotel. Vivian wore a casual outfit and had her hair tied in a ponytail at the back of her head. This style of dressup made her look even more youthful and beautiful.

Ever since they left the house, Leo was constantly staring at her with a smirk. Vivian pouted, “Stop staring at me like that, we’ve been married for so long already, why are you still so thirsty?”

Leo whispered a few words in her ears, which made Vivian blush profusely. She glared at him while punching him on his arm.

After getting onto the car, Vivian asked out of curiosity, “Where’s your car?”

“It’s still at the office, I borrowed this car from Kevin.” Leo answered casually.

“You’re really something huh, it's such a waste that you're not a detective!" Vivian taunted discontentedly.

“Duh, if my wife left me for another young fella, I’ll unleash my true powers. I can even turn myself into a killer instead of a detective.

“Nonsense! Let me ask you, if I was unable to explain myself clearly, what would you do?” Vivian asked seriously.

"Divorce!" Leo blurted out the answer without further consideration.

A howl could be heard out of the car spread immediately. Vivian did not go easy on her husband by pinching him twice under the ribs really hard, causing Leo to bare his teeth in pain, and the car to sway around side by side.

Luckily it was a Saturday, and there weren’t many cars on the road. Even so, a few cars behind them were startled and honked their horns at them.

"Holy sh*t, you crazy chick, are you out of your mind?" Leo opened his mouth to curse.

“Hey you, listen up. If you ever dare to file a divorce, I swear you’ll never get away with it. Try me if you dare!”Vivian responded defiantly.

"You’re so bossy and overbearing! I’m not allowed to file for a divorce even when you've done something wrong?" Leo defended himself.

Vivian grunted and responded slowly, “Firstly, I’ll never do anything wrong, so this isn’t a solid reason. Secondly, even if I really made a mistake, you have to forgive me. You’re my husband, you should tolerate me for who I am, including my flaws!”

“That depends? There are certain things that I’ll never be able to tolerate!”

"I know what you're referring to. Don't worry, I won't do anything wrong like that. If I really did, I don't need you to kick me out, I'll leave myself without you asking me to!
