Today was Leo’s first day taking up his post. All his colleagues were there to congratulate him, but oddly, Sophie did not show up. That was somewhat unexpected.

It was only until noon that Sophie appeared. Immediately, she pushed open the door and walked into his office before sitting on the table, facing him.

“Get out!” Frowning, Leo reprimanded, “Do you have nothing better to do?”

Unfazed, Sophie kept grinning at him.

In the face of her stares, Leo felt uncomfortable. Subconsciously, he touched his face, “Why are you staring at me? Is there something on my face?”

“No. But I have to say...” Smiling, Sophie answered.

“Wait a minute. You’d better hold your tongue. I’m sure you don’t have anything nice to say!”

“You look all smug right now!” Eventually, Sophie said it. After that, she broke into a fit of laughter.

Leo was somewhat amused as well. Helplessly, he responded, “Oh, come on. What do you mean by smug? You call this triumphant, okay?”

“Alright, whatever you say, dummy!” Sophie kept on teasing him.

“How dare you call your supervisor a dummy? Believe it or not, I’ll cut your pay!”

“Sure. Why don’t you just stop paying me? I’ll go stay with you, and you can take care of me then.” Sophie could not care less.

“You’d better not! You know I have a shrew at home.”

“Humph, I’m going to bring her down sooner or later. Just wait and see!”

Hearing that, Leo started regretting. Knowing that the two women were not on good terms, he should not have mentioned Vivian in front of Sophie. He must have lost his mind.

Quickly, he tried to change the subject. Putting on a straight face, he asked, “Where were you the whole morning? It’s my first day today, and you’re absent without a reason. How indiscipline!”

Jumping off the table, Sophie said mysteriously, “Leo, I spent the whole morning preparing a present for you.”

“What is it?”

“Close your eyes.”

“Why should I do so? Is the present something nasty?”

Left with no choice, Leo could only close his eyes.

Suddenly, he felt her hot breath on his cheek. It was only then that realization dawn on him!

Sophie just kissed him!

Never did Leo expect that Sophie would be so bold.

So, the present she meant was a kiss. Leo jolted up from his seat, but before he could lash out at her, she was already running towards the door.

“Bang!”

“Crack!”

Leo’s glass door shattered into pieces. Anguished, Sophie crouched down on the floor with her head sunk in her hands.

Leo was shocked. Immediately, concern took over his anger, and he rushed over to check up on Sophie.

“Are you hurt? Do you need to go to the hospital?”

“It hurts!” Sobbing, Sophie uttered.

“Are you bleeding? Don’t cover your head. Let me see!”

Carefully, Leo checked her wounds and fortunately, she seemed to be fine. She got just a bump on her forehead.

Gradually, Sophie’s colleagues started approaching her and asked if she was okay.

Leo said, “She’s fine. Go back to work!”

Then, he ordered the secretary, “Call the logistics department and ask them to change my door to a matte door instead of a glass door.”

After dismissing the crowd, Leo helped Sophie into his office before laughing at her, "You’re really something. How did you even run into a door? What a dummy!”

“It’s all your fault. Who asked you to chase me down?” Rudely, Sophie shouted at him.

“Keep your voice down, lady. The people are still outside!”

Leo glanced outside his office. Noticing that nobody was watching them, he giggled and said, “Does it hurt? It serves you right for bullying me!”

“Humph, it doesn’t hurt at all, but you have to treat me to lunch since I got hurt because of you!”

Lifting his hands, Leo said sincerely, “Alright. It’s my fault. I’m sorry, okay? Order anything you want.”

“Steak and ice cream!”

Upon hearing that, Leo was stunned. Why was she craving the same food as Vivian? It was then that it suddenly occurred to him that Sophie must have seen Vivian’s WeChat Moments from his phone.

Leo received a call from Vivian in the afternoon.

“Honey, are you busy?”

“No matter how busy I am, I’ll answer your call. You’re my dear wife!” Grinning, Leo answered.

Vivian was very satisfied with her husband’s answer. Shyly, she said, “Stop sweet-talking me. I have some good news for you.”

“What is it?”

“My parents are going back tomorrow morning. Honey, let’s send them off. What do you think?”

“Going back?” Leo seemed somewhat surprised. Subconsciously, he asked, “To Zwickau?”

“Yeah. They’re going back to Zwickau. They said they’re done with me, and they’re going to leave me alone forever. Honey, they’re not going to bother us anymore.”

“Oh, alright then. I’ll send them off with you tomorrow. By the way, did they buy their flight tickets already? If they haven’t bought them, I’ll buy it for them.”

“Everything is settled. I’ll buy them some local specialties after work, and tell them it’s a gift from you.”

“Alright, up to you then. Don’t worry about the price. Buy them the best ones!"

After chatting for a while, they hung up.

“What’s wrong? Who’s leaving?” Curious, Sophie asked.

“Vivian’s parents. They’re going back to Zwickau tomorrow morning.” Leo answered truthfully.

Pouting, Sophie uttered in disdain, “She’s too desperate to hide the truth. It’s suspicious!”

“Why is everything a scheme to you?” Dissatisfied, Leo retorted, “What’s wrong with her parents going back to their hometown? Her parents never offended you!”

“I didn’t say they offended me, but don’t you think it’s weird?” Sophie continued seriously.

“It is kind of weird.” Frowning, Leo answered. “This is somewhat sudden. The situation has not been resolved. Why are they suddenly leaving?”

The next moment, Sophie clapped her hands and said aloud, “Leo, you finally get it!"

At once, Leo waved his hands at her and reproached her at the same time, “You’re all pumped up now after having steak, huh? This is an office. Stop shouting.”

Sticking her tongue out at him, Sophie said softly, “Do you think her parents came all the way here just to see you and ends up leaving for no reason?”

“I guess they’re giving up already?”

“You’re right, but don’t you think it’s weird for them to give up simply after meeting you and saying a few words to you?”

Leo kept silent as questions started to fill his mind.

“Humph!” Sophie scoffed, “In my opinion, Vivian is feeling anxious. She knows the truth, and she knows that you don’t have absolute faith in her. Her so-called relatives are probably pretend to be. That is why she is in such a hurry to chase them away.”

“What do you mean?” Confused, Leo asked.

“Nothing much. I’m just saying. Leo, don’t worry. The truth is gradually unfolding. Just wait and see!” Sophie said confidently.

Shrugging, Leo thought Sophie was talking nonsense again. If something was really going on, he was definitely going to suffer.

“I’m leaving now!” After finishing her sentence, Sophie stood up and was about to leave.

“Where are you going?” asked Leo.

“Shopping!”

“You’re skipping work again? It’s only my first day. Don’t try to seek special treatment from me. There are so many people out there. Don’t put me in a tight spot.” Discontented, Leo retorted.

“Fire me then!” Sophie said nonchalantly.

“Fine. Go wherever you want and get out of my office. I have no time for you!”

“I’m taking your car with me!” Sophie said bluntly.

“How am I supposed to go back after work then?”

“You can take my car. Don’t you have my keys?”

“I don’t like driving sports cars. It attracts attention!”

“You’re so stupid. I’m giving you a chance to make Vivian’s family proud. You can drive them to the airport with my car tomorrow. Why are you rejecting such a nice offer?”

“No way. Your car fits only two people. It’s so inconvenient.”

“Oh, my god. You’re really dumb. Even if you drive a bus, they’re not going to get onto your car. You just have to accompany Vivian there. Any car will do?”

Leo did not say anything more. After seeing Sophie leaving his office, he fell into deep thoughts.

On the other hand, Sophie headed straight to the car park. Right after she got onto Leo’s car, she gave Eric Chou a call and told him about Vivian’s parents leaving.

Eric Chou responded, “It’s great to see some movements. Having movements means we might find something useful. Miss, don’t worry. I’ll keep a close watch on them.”

After hanging up, Sophie muttered to herself, “Vivian, I know you’re lying to Leo. There must be something wrong with your so-called parents. Don’t worry. I’ll catch you on the take and the next time we meet, you’ll be crying on your knees!”

“This is Sophie’s car. Where’s your car?”

Morning arrived. Vivian and Leo were getting ready to send her parents off when she saw the red Lamborghini. Instantly, her face darkened.

“Sophie took my car away, so I’m driving her car today.” Guiltily, Leo responded.

“Why did she drive your car?” Vivian sounded unhappy.

“We’re sending your parents off today. This car looks fancier.” Anxiously, Leo answered.

“Was it you or her who came up with this idea?” Vivian continued to question him.

“Of course, it’s me. I want to make you look good.”

“How prideful. I don’t need you to make me look good this way.”

Wrapping his hands around Vivian’s waist, Leo smiled and said, “Your parents want you to marry a wealthy guy. I want to show them that you won’t suffer living with me.”

Pouting, Vivian uttered, “You can’t prove anything with a car. They won’t think of you differently just because of this. You’re underestimating them.”

“What do you mean?” Dissatisfied, Leo asked, “Do they want a son-in-law who flies a plane to work?”
