Upon hearing Leo’s words, Vivian was amused. Gently, she punched his arm and said reproachfully, “Why are you still keeping in touch with Sophie? Didn’t I ask you to cut ties with her?”

Bitterly, he answered, “Honey, she’s my subordinate. We see each other in the office every day. How do you expect me to ignore her? It’s impossible!”

“Transfer her to another department or fire her then. Anyway, I’m not comfortable with her staying close to you.”

Leo thought Vivian was being unreasonable. He did not own the Delaney Group, so he had no authority to do so. Even he had the authority to do so, why would he fire Sophie for no reason?

Little did he know that the Delaney Group actually belonged to the Delaney family. Hence, Sophie firing him would make more sense.

It was not an exaggeration. William Delaney only had one daughter, and that was Sophie Delaney. So, she would take over the company sooner or later.

Not only Leo, but she could fire anybody in the company with one word.

In the face of Vivian’s stubbornness, he could only explain patiently, “Honey, although I got promoted, I’m still a salaryman. I don’t have the right to fire whoever I want. Moreover, she’s doing a good job in her work. I can’t simply fire her without a valid reason.”

It was then that Vivian realized that she was being too pushy. If this continued, it would only affect their relationship instead of improving the situation.

However, she could not just leave it at that. Hence, she kicked Sophie’s Lamborghini violently before walking towards her Toyota with her bag on her hand.

Exclaiming, Leo quickly inspected the car and noticed a dent on the left door. It seemed like Vivian used quite a bit of force.

Anxious, Leo started trembling. The car was Sophie’s treasure, and it cost millions of bucks. Now he had to pay several hundred thousand to pay for the repair fee.

That woman! She should have kicked him instead of the car. Great, all the money he earned for the past two years would be gone now!

“Are you coming or not? Or else I’m leaving!” Vivian shouted behind him.

Dejected, Leo walked up to her and complained in a soft voice, “Look at your nasty temper. Why do you have to take your anger out on her car? Now I have to pay her for the repair fee.”

“Serves her right. Who asked her to lend you her car? I’m teaching her a lesson so that she’ll know what the boundaries are.”

“This is too much! One kick and it’s going to cost me several hundred thousand bucks!”

“Nonsense. It’s just some coating. It’s not going to cost you so much. Are you trying to take her side?”

“I’m not lying! This is a limited-edition Lamborghini. It costs a fortune! You can’t find this model in our country anymore!”

“Humph, what’s the big deal about that? I’ll pay for the repair fees. You don’t have to a penny!”

“How are you going to pay her?”

“I have money. I’ll use my savings!”

“You’re still using my money! Forget it, let’s send your parents off first. I’ll figure out a way.” After getting into the car, both of them kept silent.

A moment later, Vivian suddenly asked, “Honey, were you trying to scare me just now? Do you really have to pay that much to repair Sophie’s car?”

“Seriously? You’re thinking about this now? Why didn’t you think about this before you kick her car?”

“Well, I was in a fit of anger just now. You didn’t mean what you said, right? It doesn’t cost that much, does it?”

Giving her a quick sidelong glance, Leo answered seriously, “That car costs more than eight million dollars, and you dented the car. How much do you think it costs to fix it?!”

Upon hearing that, Vivian kept silent, yet it did not faze her the slightest bit. She simply said that so that Leo would not get suspicious. A few hundred bucks were nothing to her.

Seeing the expression on her face, Leo thought she was worried about the money, so he comforted her, “It’s okay, honey. If kicking her car makes you feel better, go ahead and do it. I can afford the repair costs.”

“Don’t apologize to her then, and don’t agree to any of her requests!” Overbearingly, Vivian ordered him.

“Should I reject her if she asks me to pay for the repair costs? Don’t be ridiculous. Let me handle this. Don’t worry about it.”

Once again, Vivian kept silent. After a while, she asked curiously, “Honey, is Sophie rich? How can she afford such an expensive car?”

“She’s not, but don’t forget that she lives in a bungalow. I bet her parents are rich.”

“If her family is rich, why does she have to go to work then? She might as well quit her job for good.”

“We’re not strapped for cash as well. Why don’t you want to become a stay-at-home wife?”

“That’s different. I work because I enjoy it. I like my job.”

Smiling, Leo shook his head and uttered calmly, “How is it different? She’s working because she enjoys it too. It’s a form of self-fulfillment. Don’t underestimate her. Sophie is really good at her job. She always wins large deals, and she’s the key employee in our company!”

“She works because she enjoys it? Hah! I bet she works because of you! Her hobby is to become a woman who breaks families.”

Hearing that, Leo felt somewhat ashamed. He answered discontentedly, “Don’t say that. She didn’t join the company because of me. We met after I joined the company. Come on, don’t be so hostile to her.”

“You’re asking me not to be hostile to her, huh? Alright then! Ask her to get out of our lives! If she knows how to maintain her boundaries, I couldn’t care less about her.”

Leo wanted to stop the conversation. He knew it was hard for Vivian and Sophie to patch things up. They would only end up fighting and destroying their relationship.

“Alright, let’s stop talking about this. By the way, which hotel are we heading to?"

“We can go straight to the airport. They took a cab to the airport.” Vivian responded.

“Why didn’t you tell me earlier? I’m heading the wrong way now!” Frustrated, Leo complained.

“Who asked you to tick me off with Sophie’s car?! I was in a pique of anger, so I forgot to tell you. Are you going to blame me now?”

“Fine, blame me then!” Helplessly, Leo said.

Vivian sniffed on him and ignored him.

Moments later, Leo pretended to ask casually, “Why don’t you call your parents and see if they need any help?”

With that, he gave Vivian a side glance to check her reaction.

Recently, he had been trying to find Vivian’s second phone but could not find anything. He strongly suspected she hid the phone at the school.

Sophie had already managed to brainwash him. Now, he believed that Vivian had a secret phone.

“There’s no need to do that!” As expected, Vivian rejected his request.

“Come on, give them a call. After all, they’re your parents. We have to be nice to them!”

Leo insisted on calling them. He wanted Vivian to call them to check whether she was hiding anything from him.

“I said there’s no need to do so. Don’t do unnecessary things and keep your eyes on the road.” Impatiently, Vivian retorted.

Remaining silent, Leo gave her a meaningful look.

Realizing that she might have meant to do that, Vivian tried to act cute, “Honey, I’m still angry at Sophie. I didn’t mean to snap at you. Don’t get mad.”

“It’s fine. I’m not mad. Do whatever you want.”

Instantly, an awkward silence fell across the car.

Both of them were deep in thoughts, and nobody spoke a word.

Leo was tired of talking. The more he became suspicious of Vivian, the more he did not want to bother thinking about their future. He was even starting to have thoughts of getting a divorce.

He was extremely mentally exhausted.

On the other hand, Vivian was anxious. Being a sensitive person as usual, she noticed the subtle change in their relationship.

She knew that a gap had begun to form between them, and they were starting to lose trust in each other.

Also, she was aware that Leo was still suspicious of her. However, she did not know how to ease the tension between them, neither did she know whether their relationship can go back to normal.

The only thing she could do now was trying her best to get things back on track and using affection to remove his suspicion and misunderstandings towards her.

In fact, she knew that the best way to remove his suspicion was to tell him the truth.

However, there were some things that she could not tell him as it might ruin their relationship.

“Honey.” Gently, Vivian called out.

“Hmm?”

“Do you still love me?” Vivian was unsure why she asked that question, but she desperately wanted to know the answer.

Stunned for a moment, Leo turned his head to look at her. He was somewhat taken aback by that abrupt question.

“Of course. Why are you asking me that?”

“I don’t know. I have a feeling that you’re losing faith in me, and I’m afraid that you’ll gradually stop loving me.”

Keeping silent for a few moments, Leo spoke, “Honey, you know that honesty is important between a couple, right?”

Vivian did not answer his question. Lowering her head, she seemed to be in deep thoughts.

Leo saw her again, he seemed to be disappointed. Sighing, he said, “Alright, since we’re already on this topic, I’ll speak frankly and tell you my doubts, alright?”

Lifting her head, Vivian let out a light hum.

After hesitating for a moment, Leo decided to clear things up. After all, he treasured their relationship, and he did not want his doubts to become a ticking time bomb in their relationship.

“Do you have another phone?”

Then, Vivian lifted her left hand. Confused, Leo tried to figure out what she was trying to express. It was then that realization dawned on him, “The watch!”

“Yes. It’s the phone watch you bought for me.” Pursing her lips, Vivian uttered.

“D*mn it!” Leo beat himself seriously.

Indeed, he was the one who bought the phone watch for Vivian. The phone watch had health tracking features so that she could monitor her pulse, blood pressure, and so on as she prepared to get pregnant.

If one inserted a SIM card into the watch and connected it to Bluetooth, the product can be used as a phone.

Never did Leo expect that the phone that he had been searching high and low was on Vivian’s wrist all this while. Not to mention he was the one who bought her the phone.

He never intended to buy the watch for Vivian to use it as a phone. Hence, he totally forgot that the watch had such functions. It was so stupid of him to search for something that was literally right in front of his eyes.
