“Please don’t say that.” Courteously, Victor responded.

“Ms. Vivian, you’re being too polite. I didn’t know you’re connected to Mr. Frank. It’s all a misunderstanding, haha!”

“Mr. Frank?” Vivian was confused.

“I’m not quite sure what you’re talking about. I’m not connected to him.”

“Isn’t Frank your friend?” Surprised, Victor asked.

Frank? Vivian tried to pull her memory back. It took her a while to remember that Frank was Chloe’s father.

Judging from what Victor said earlier, it seemed that Frank was involved in her being rehired. Instantly, a feeling of displeasure washed over her, and she regretted her decision.

Leo was right. There was something more going on.

She never liked owing other people favors, especially unnecessary ones. If she had known that something was wrong, she would have listened to Leo, stayed at home and enjoy her life as a full time housewife.

As mentioned, she treated her job as dispensable, as a hobby. She would rather quit if she were going to owe Frank a favor.

Studying her expression, Victor could see that Vivian was unaware of what happened. He could not help but feel confused.

“Ms. Vivian, don’t you know what happened?” Cautiously, Victor asked.

“What do you mean?” Vivian asked in return.

“It’s nothing. Forgive me for asking, but you and Mr. Frank...”

“He’s my student’s father, and I only met him twice. We barely know each other.” Truthfully, Vivian answered.

She disdained jockeying for position using Frank Johnson’s power. Not only he was a widower, but he was also her student’s father. Of course, she did not want anything to do with him.

Upon hearing her words, Victor heaved a sigh of relief.

He was once thought that Vivian was Frank Johnson’s girlfriend, so he secretly scolded her for cheating on her husband and acting innocent in front of him.

Who knew that Vivian would deny their relationship? It seemed like Frank Johnson was just messing around with him.

As Victor looked at Vivian’s slender figure, a thought flashed across his mind, and he figured out something.

He wondered if Frank Johnson had fell in love with Vivian and was trying to woo her. He thought he wasted his time scolding Vivian.

Moments later, Vivian got up and said, “Mr. Victor, if there’s nothing else, I’ll take my leave.”

“Sure. Go ahead. We’ll catch up later!”

After sending Vivian off, he sat back on his seat and began to think of weird ideas.

Since Vivian and Frank Johnson were not in a relationship, he should not let her go easily. He had to come up with a way to get her laid, take some pictures or videos, and keep it in his back pocket.

If she ever disobeyed him, he could use the videos to threaten her.

Thinking of that, he let out a meaningful smile.

Right after Vivian exited Victor’s office, she went straight to Ms. Rachel’s class and called her out. Ms. Rachel complained, “What’s the emergency? Can’t we talk after my class?”

“Did you ask Frank to speak for me?” Aggressively, Vivian questioned her.

Knowing that Vivian discontented, Ms. Rachel did not dare to tell her the truth. Softly, she said, “Well, I told him about that you’re getting fired, but I didn’t ask him to speak up for you. What’s wrong? Is Mr. Frank the reason why you got rehired?”

“Are you sure you don’t know anything?”

“Oh, come on. I must explain to him why you had to stop teaching her daughter. I don’t know what he did after that!”

Hearing that, Vivian relaxed. What Ms. Rachel said was reasonable. It seemed like she really misunderstood her.

Quickly, Ms. Rachel uttered, “Stop imagining things. Maybe Mr. Frank wants to help you out. You should be grateful.”

“I don’t need him to help me out. He doesn’t have to do such unnecessary stuff for me. Fine, you should go back to class.”

With that, Vivian walked away without looking back. Looking at her back, Ms. Rachel shook her head thoughtfully.

She could see that Vivian was not fond of Frank Johnson. Vivian should thank him for helping her get her job back.

However, she did not appreciate his help at all. Instead, she reprimanded him as though she despised him meddling in her business.

This showed that she did not care about being laid off, and she had no feelings for Frank Johnson at all.

Being a woman herself, she understood how Vivian felt. If she had no feelings for Frank Johnson, she would despise everything he did.

Things had been peaceful for a while. Victor stopped picking on Vivian. Instead, he showered her with praises and flattered her nonstop.

As usual, Vivian ignored him. Being a person who had met all sorts of persons, she could see through his mind easily. She simply wanted him to leave her alone.

Vivian and Leo were having dinner when he told her that he would be away for a business trip the next few days.

At first, Vivian did not care much. After all, she was used to Leo going on business trips.

After dinner, she began to pack his suitcase, “How long will you be away?”

“I’m not sure. I have to go there to submit an offer. Probably about a week.”

“Are you going alone?”

“Of course not. How can I handle all the jobs by myself? My team is going with me.”

Suddenly, a thought ran through Vivian’s mind, and her movements slowed down. After a moment, she asked casually, “Sophie is going too, right?”

Obviously, Leo looked a bit nervous. After pausing for a moment, he answered, “No.”

Immediately, Vivian knew he was lying. He might be going with Sophie alone.

“You’re so lucky. You can use the company’s money to travel everywhere. Unlike me, I’m always stuck at home. I don’t even get the chance to go on holidays.”

Vivian started tricking him. Indeed, he fell into her trap. Grinning, he said, “I’m going there to work, not to play around. Who asked you to go back to work? Otherwise, you can follow me on my business trip.”

“Come on. Stop talking nonsense. There’s no way I can simply follow you there!”

“I’m not lying. Nobody will know if you come with me. We’ll pay for your expenses, so we won’t be touching the company’s money. Of course, you can follow me there.”

“Are you sure you’re allowed to do that? What if someone finds out? Have anybody in your company did that before?” Pretending to be curious, Vivian asked.

“I’m sure no one will say anything. It’s actually an open secret. We’re not taking advantage of the company anyways. Everybody does that.”

“Alright then!” Vivian took out the luggage from the cupboard before saying to Leo, “I’m coming with you. Help me book a ticket!”

Hearing Vivian’s words, Leo was stunned.

“What... What do you mean?”

“I’m coming with you. Don’t worry. I won’t bother you when you’re working. I just want to accompany you to your business trip.” Vivian answered.

“Don’t you have to go to work?”

“I’ve already covered all the syllabus. There are only a few practical lessons left. Moreover, music is not a main subject. It’s fine to take a few days off. I’ll be resigning soon anyway. It doesn’t really matter.”

“Oh, I see...” Leo did not know how to answer his wife.

“What’s wrong? Don’t you want me to come with you?”

“It’s not like that. But my colleagues are coming as well. I don’t think it’s appropriate for you to come with me.” Leo wanted to try convincing her.

“I’m sure Sophie will be there too. You don’t have to lie to me. I know she’s going. Go ahead then. I don’t want to interrupt you guys!”

Instantly, Vivian’s face turned cold. She was staring at Leo with a murderous gaze.

“Okay! You can come with me!” Without hesitation, Leo exclaimed, “Make sure you come!”

Sophie called Eric Chou and informed him that Leo would be away for a business trip for one week. She wanted him to keep an eye on Vivian and try to find evidences of her cheating on Leo within this period of time.

This was a good chance for Vivian to meet up with another guy. At once, Eric Chou agreed to Sophie’s plan.

On the day when Leo was leaving for his business trip, Eric Chou waited outside their house. He was already prepared to stalk Vivian the whole day. He had a feeling that Vivian would make a move.

At eight in the morning, Vivian appeared with Leo. Both of them were carrying and luggage, and they hailed a cab. Judging by the direction of where the cab was going, it seemed like they were heading to the airport.

Eric Chou thought Vivian was sending Leo off, so he followed them to the airport.

However, both Vivian and Sophie met at the airport. After confronting each other for some time, three of them got through the security screening.

Eric Chou was utterly confused.

It was only then that he realized Vivian was going to board the plane with Leo! Why did he waste his time following after them? Not to mention he could not even board the plane without a ticket!

Hurriedly, he called Sophie, wanting to find out what happened.

“What’s wrong?!” Sophie sounded angry across the phone.

“Miss, I believe you know that Vivian had already got past the security check.”

“Yes. I’ll contact you again when she comes back. I’ll call you later!” No doubt, Sophie was discontented.

“Miss, what exactly is happening? Why is she going with you all?” Eric Chou asked curiously.

“How am I supposed to know that? I’m hanging up now!”

Impatiently, Sophie hung up and walked to the waiting lounge. She saw Vivian holding Leo’s arm as they chatted away happily, looking as though they were going on a honeymoon.

She was supposed to be Leo’s assistant, but now she looked like a third wheel!

“Leo, you got a lot of nerve to bring your wife along on a business trip!”

Sophie tried to hold back her emotions, but failed to do so in the end.

Hearing Sophie’s words, Leo felt awkward. Although it was a normal phenomenon for his colleagues to bring their family along on their business trips, it only happened when they were alone. Nobody ever behaved so blatantly like him.

Although he was close to Sophie, he should not have acted so brazenly. In fact, he was misusing his power.
