That old woman clearly heard the displeasure in Elton’s tone.

She didn’t blame him. Instead, she persuaded her softly, “Son, are you still resenting your father? You must understand that he did that for the future of Delaney family.”

“Yes, I know. Family. Everything is for the future of Delaney family.” Elton replied emotionally.

“Elton, you’re not young anymore. You should understand that there won’t be you without Delaney family. Your destiny is tied to Delaney family. You are protecting your own interests by making a contribution to Delaney family.”

“Oh, really? For the sake of Delaney family, do I have to pursue Sophie? I don’t even know her. Why must I pursue her?”

The old lady patiently explained, “Delaney Group is the largest high-tech company in the north America, and has a strong influence in the area. If our family wants to expand our business to the north, the best choice is to cooperate with their company. Therefore, a marriage alliance is the fastest way to establish a relationship between the two families...”

“Alright, alright. I got it!” Elton obviously didn’t like to listen to her mother’s lecture and rudely interrupted her words.

“Your father and Dr. William Delaney hit it off with one another. Both of them have agreed to this marriage, but we will not force the two of you to accept our opinions because we want to give you the freedom to choose. We just want to create an opportunity for the two of you to get to know each other. Can’t you accept it either?”

“Alright, I understand. I’ll try to get to know Sophie. But I have to make it clear to you in advance. If she is not my type, I’ll not pursue her.”

The woman was silent for a moment before sighing helplessly again, “Okay, you can try to get to know her first. If you really can’t get along with one another, I won’t force you anymore.”

Early the next morning, Leo was seen sitting in the lobby on the first floor.

He didn’t want to be cooped up in the room. That room was now a restricted area, and all strangers were not allowed to enter.

When Sophie saw him, Leo was dozing off on the sofa and didn’t notice her at all.

Leo hurriedly stopped her, “My stomach doesn’t feel good after eating too much. Therefore, I couldn’t get a good rest!”

“I’ve already discussed it with Vivian. She’ll leave today after the bidding section. I’ll go to the airport to see her off!”

He got up, walked toward the tall, well-built man and asked, “Are you Mr. Elton?”

“You must be Mr. Leo. I am Elton. Pleased to meet you!” Elton stretched out his hand with a smile and shook hands with Leo politely.

Leo called Sophie over and introduced her to Elton, “Mr. Elton, this is my colleague, Sophie. She is also the person in charge of this project.”

Elton had long noticed Sophie. His eyes instantly lit up when he first saw her. What a beautiful young woman with a cute baby face. With a slightly elevated nose bridge and large dazzling eyes, she looked particularly attractive.

“I arrived in the middle of the night, around 1 a.m. Don’t worry. I’ve sufficient rest.”

“That was really late. You must be tired. Thanks for coming!”

Leo glared at her back and then said to the two of them, “Since everyone is here, let’s set off now!”

When Elton saw that they brought almost nothing with them except a sealed envelope in Leo's hand, he couldn't help but wonder. No matter how he looked at them, they didn't look like they were going to bid for a project.

Sophie walked over and grabbed hold of Leo’s hand. Without giving him any chance to speak, she dragged him away.

This made Leo feel extremely embarrassed. Sophie was always doing whatever she wanted without any consideration. What would Elton think when he saw that?

Out of desperation, he could only turn his head around and shouted out to Elton, “Mr. Elton, Why don’t you join us?”

“No, thank you. I’ve already eaten!” Elton replied with a smile and looked at them cryptically.

From their interaction, even an idiot can see that the relationship between the two was extraordinary. Sitting down on the sofa, Elton gave a wry smile and thought to himself, “Looks like Mr. Leo is my rival in love.”

After eating breakfast, the three of them called a taxi and headed off to the bidding venue. Sophie politely ushered Elton to the front passenger seat while she sat in the rear passenger seat with Leo.

Elton, who was secretly observing them through the rear mirror, was even more certain of his speculation.

The crowd below the stage was in an uproar. Sophie shot Leo a glare and whispered to him, “Didn’t you said 1.4 million is enough?”

“Mr. Andrew had asked to keep this strictly confidential. I was also the last person to know.”

“F**k you. How dare you hide something from me? Do you believe that I’ll go to your house and make a fuss?”
