Chapter 45 Mr. Andrew’s Countermeasure

Mr. Andrew was in a dilemma after receiving the instruction. As one of the few people who knew Sophie’s identity, he knew how difficult it was to please Sophie. He also knew that Sophie was interested in Leo.

After pondering for a long moment, Mr. Andrew suddenly figured out a perfect plan.

...

Picking up the phone, he dialed Elton’s number, and said, “Hi, is that Mr. Elton? This is Mr. Andrew!”

“Hello, Mr. Andrew. I’m Elton. Is there anything I can help you with?”

“Ah, I just want to know, how is every thing going on?”

“Everything is fine. We went to submit documents yesterday and are currently waiting for news at the hotel!”

“Okay, I got it. What about Mr. Leo? Is he next to you?

“Mr. Leo has already gone back because he had some urgent matters to deal with!”

“Ah yes, he is back! Yes, I asked him to come back. Then, what about Sophie?”

“She went to stay at her classmate’s house, so she is not in the hotel right now!”

“This d*mn couple! Mr. Andrew cursed silently in his heart, “Where did they go and fool around? How can they leave a complete novice at the hotel and disappear just like that?”

What was even more infuriating was that when Leo reported the situation to him yesterday, he didn’t mention anything about it at all.

He thought that everyone was waiting together at the hotel.

However, unexpectedly, Leo and Sophie had sneaked out.

Forget it. Mr. Andrew said kindly, “Mr. Elton, I wanna discuss the sales organizational structure with you. I plan to transfer a few people from the consulting department to sales department, what you think about this.”

“I don’t have any objections. Thank you for your support—just proceed with your plan!” Elton readily agreed, seeing no reason to disagree since it was ultimately beneficial for him.

Elton wasn’t concerned about whether Mr. Andrew would plant a mole in his department. After all, his true purpose in joining the Delaney Group wasn’t to climb the corporate ladder.

He was here for love.

If that didn’t succeed, he would leave the Delaney Group soon enough, as he still had a family business waiting for him to take over.

“Alright, that’s settled. I’ll transfer some staff to the sales department. Mr. Elton, you can observe their performance. If you’re satisfied, I’ll officially transfer them,” Mr. Andrew proposed.

Mr. Andrew had shown Elton considerable respect, which Elton appreciated.

Next, Mr. Andrew suggested a few candidates, including Sophie.

After ending the call with Elton, he called Leo.

Naturally, he wanted to consult Leo before transferring any staff, not wanting to jeopardize their friendship.

To be honest, Mr. Andrew hoped Leo wouldn’t grow too close to Sophie. Leo was married and needed to maintain a professional distance from female colleagues.

Moreover, given Sophie’s family background, Mr. Andrew doubted that even if Leo were single, their relationship could lead to a happy ending.

The reason was simple: their social standings were vastly different. It was unrealistic for an ordinary person to marry the president’s daughter!

From the current personnel changes, it wasn’t hard for Mr. Andrew to infer the situation.

Elton was handsome, talented, and exuded a unique charm. The actions of upper management clearly indicated that Elton was seen as a suitable son-in-law by Mr. William.

Although Mr. Andrew didn’t know Elton’s full background, he sensed that Elton was academically and socially superior to Leo.

How could he describe Elton? "Aristocratic" came to mind. Elton carried an air of superiority that was hard to ignore.

Given the current circumstances, if Leo and Sophie continued their ambiguous relationship, it could impact Mr. Andrew’s future. He intended to use this opportunity to separate them for Leo’s benefit.

“Leo, where are you?”

“Waiting for news at the hotel. What’s up, Mr. Andrew?”

“Hold on—I want to listen the truth.”

Leo chuckled and replied, “I’m currently praying in Fontenay, praying for our company to win the bid.”

“Stop joking. By the way, is Sophie with you?”

“No, she’s stayed at the hotel!”

“If you keep lying, I’ll smash my phone! Is Sophie with you or not?”

“Are you looking for her?”

“Don’t interrupt her. I need to discuss something with you! In private.” Mr. Andrew said, a bit irritated.

“Sure, go ahead!”

Mr. Andrew laid out his plans, and Leo, puzzled, asked, “Why the sudden change?”

“Don’t get me wrong, bro. This isn’t my idea, it’s a decision from upper management. They want to use our department as a pilot.”

“What’s the purpose?”

“The upper management believes our consulting and sales system has significant issues. Our consultants are based at headquarters and rarely engage with users, making it hard to understand their needs.”

“Meanwhile, local sales consultants often lack technical skills, focusing too much on business and failing to grasp user perspectives. This disconnect leads to lost project opportunities and difficulties in converting needs into contracts.”

Leo nodded in agreement, recognizing the problem as a real obstacle to business growth.

Mr. Andrew must be in a tough spot, having to address these issues through organizational changes.

Seeing Leo didn’t object, Mr. Andrew continued, “The company plans to reform the consulting and sales system, transitioning consultants to sales roles. This approach will bridge the gap with users and better understand their needs, solving our current shortcomings.”

“I see!” Leo responded. “So our business department is the first pilot?”

“Yes, the company believes mobile internet is the industry’s future. Thus, they’ve chosen our department for the pilot.”

“Sounds good. I’ll follow the company’s lead!” Leo replied readily.

Sighing with relief, Mr. Andrew added, “Leo, to ensure smooth implementation, we must keep this pilot project confidential. Just be aware of it and refrain from discussing it with others. I plan to second some consultants from your department to Mr. Elton. After an observation period, he’ll make the final decision.”

“Understood, Mr. Andrew. I’ll cooperate fully!” Leo assured him.

“One more thing: I plan to include Sophie as a candidate for the pilot. Any objections?”

“Perfect! I have no issues with that. Even without your suggestion, I intended to recommend her. Please take her away so she stops bothering me!”

Mr. Andrew was relieved by Leo’s response, knowing he understood their boundaries. Now, he just needed Sophie’s consent.

That was the only step left. As for how things would unfold between Elton and Sophie, that was beyond his concern. Their relationship was their own business.

“I’d like to speak with her.”

“Hang on, Mr. Andrew. I’ll find where she is!”

After a long wait, Sophie asked impatiently, “What’s up?”

“Are you finished praying? Did god forgive your sins?”

“what sin!”

“You shall not commit adultery?”

“Bro, Leo is not going to let me do that. Now, why do you need me?”

“Oh, you know Mr. Elton has just taken office, I intend to temporarily transfer you to the sales department, so that he can familiarize himself with the department's business as soon as possible. Do you think it’s okay for you?”

“Aright, I’ll guide him when I have the time. Is that all?”

“Well, that’s all.”

“Alright, I got it. Bye!”

Before Mr. Andrew could respond, the person on the other end of the line had already ended the call. Mr. Andrew was stunned for a moment and suddenly had the urge to curse.

Sophie was really rude. She made him feel that he was not talking to his subordinate, but reporting to his superior.

After thinking about it, he couldn’t help but smile. There was nothing wrong with it. The true identity she hid from everyone was indeed the boss of the company.

Sophie was really anxious. She wanted to eavesdrop on Vivian’s prayers just now, but she was being forcibly dragged out by Leo. This made her extremely displeased and vented her anger on Mr. Andrew.

After ending the call, Sophie hurried back to the Chapel. However, Vivian had already walking out holding her husband’s arm.

After arriving in Fontenay, Sophie and Vivian reached a compromise: Sophie would stop stirring up trouble, and Vivian would refrain from provoking her. In short, they decided to enjoy their own lives while treating each other as if they were invisible.

Two days later, the bid evaluation results were announced. The Delaney Group secured the bid.

Upon receiving the news, the business department promptly shared the good news in the company chat group, and congratulatory emails from headquarters were sent to all business units.

Typically, such a significant project wouldn’t garner much fanfare from headquarters, but since Sophie was in charge, it was easily understood by everyone!

Both Leo and Sophie were ecstatic. They took the opportunity to reward themselves with a week off, exploring all the sights in and around France.

A week later, Leo returned to work. Though he was mentally prepared, he still felt a sense of unease as he walked into the office.

What was once a bustling workspace was now half-empty. Mr. Andrew had been quite ruthless in his restructuring efforts, not only transferring staff but also rearranging desks, chairs, and partitions, leaving the office feeling particularly sparse.
