Chapter 48 Scheming Against Vivian

At first, Victor never thought of approaching Mr. Antonio. He wanted Vivian only for himself, but he kept failing.

Now that he was left with no choice, he could only ask his friend for help. At the same time, he did not care about whether Mr. Antonio would ask him to share Vivian with him.

After the call got answered, Mr. Antonio's voice came from the other side of the phone, “Brother Victor, it’s been quite some time since I last saw you. Have you forgotten about me?”

Victor answered with a smile, “Of course not. I’ve been busy with work recently, so I didn’t have time to visit you. Well, I’m calling you now, so I hope you don’t take it to heart.”

Hearing Victor’s words, Mr. Antonio laughed out loud. After a few moments, he lowered his voice and said, “Are you planning to visit me anytime soon? I have two new girls here, and they’re quite good. I’m sure you’ll be satisfied. How do you think about it? Shall I make an appointment for you?”

“We can talk about that next time. Actually, I’m calling to ask for your help. You have to help me figure out a way!”

“Of course, I’ll help you out! Tell me. What’s the matter?”

“The thing is...”

Victor told Mr. Antonio his plan. After hearing his words, Mr. Antonio kept silent. A few moments later, he spoke, “Brother Victor, I can help you out with this. But I don’t know whether I ought to tell you this or not.”

“Go ahead. Just speak your mind.”

“Alright then. Brother Victor, although I’m running a brothel, I never force a woman to become a prostitute. It’s not because I’m kind, but it’s very dangerous.”

“I’m going to be honest to you. My girls are here to work voluntarily. After they earn enough, they’ll leave. It’s easier for us to avoid trouble like that.

Speaking of which, Mr. Antonio paused for a moment before continuing, “Brother Victor, don’t blame me for being too straightforward. But I don’t think you should risk doing this for a woman. If anything happens to you, your future will be ruined. I’m sure you don’t need me to help you get your priorities straight.”

“That is why I need your help. I need you to deal with this perfectly so that she won’t have any evidence to sue me afterward.”

“It seems like you’ve already made up your mind, huh?”

“Yes! I must get her laid!”

“What’s her background though? I won’t help you if she comes from a high-status family.”

“Don’t worry, she’s a non-local, and she doesn’t have any relatives here. I think her husband is working in some IT company, but she’s not from a high-status family.”

“Well, things would be easier for me then. Otherwise, I won’t be able to help you.”

In fact, Mr. Antonio did not want to get involved in such issues. Although he worked in the illicit industry, he always tried to keep things peaceful. He never liked to get himself into trouble.

He was not afraid to reject Victor, but he did not want to spoil his relationship with him.

“Does that mean you’re willing to help me out?” Excitedly, Victor asked.

“You’ve already made up your mind. How can I reject you? I’ll help you out, and I’ll make sure you’ll be satisfied.” Laughing, Mr. Antonio answered.

After talking on the phone for a while, they hung up.

All the music teachers, including Vivian, were called to the vice headmaster’s office after their lunch break.

Seeing that everybody was present, Victor grinned and said, “I called all of you here to inform you that the headmaster decided to plan a trip for you guys to Moonlight-Oasis Resort next weekend after work.”

Instantly, cheers echoed around the room. A few teachers were giggling with each other when one teacher asked, “Mr. Victor, why do you suddenly bring us on a trip? What exactly are you up to, huh?”

The person who spoke was a full-time teacher. Teachers like them were managed by the education ministry. Hence, they were not that afraid to speak their minds to their superiors.

Upon hearing that, a few teachers started laughing.

Victor’s blood was boiling, but he did not show his anger. He explained, "Don’t be ridiculous. It’s actually because of Ms. Vivian.”

Confusedly, the teachers stared at Vivian.

From the moment they entered the office, she kept quiet the whole time. Seeing everybody staring at her, she shook her head, expressing that she had no idea what was going on as well.

“Well!” Victor continued to explain, “Ms. Vivian had already handed in her resignation letter, and our headmaster decided to hold a farewell party for her.”

It was only then that they understood the situation. However, they could not ask too much since Victor was there. All of them were looking at Vivian pitifully.

From their point of view, Vivian was forced to leave by the superiors. They thought the superiors were taking advantage of the contract workers and were chasing her away now that they were done using her.

Of course, the person who took advantage was Victor.

Everybody kept quiet, but Vivian spoke, “Mr. Victor, thank you for your kindness. But I don’t think it’s necessary to hold a farewell party. The school is in a tight situation right now. I don’t want the school to waste money because of me.”

“Ms. Vivian, you don’t have to worry about that. Our headmaster will bear all the expenses for this trip by himself, so we won’t be using the school’s fund.”

Who would believe what he said?

A few teachers rolled their eyes as they heard Victor’s words. Everybody knew that only smart people could take over that position. Hence, he needed to know how to sweet talk to others.

Frowning, Vivian continued, “Thank you for your kindness, but I don’t want to take up other people’s weekend. I think you should cancel the party. I won’t be attending the party anyways.”

Quickly, Victor gave a few teachers a look, hoping that they could help persuade Vivian. Little did they know that Victor was scheming against Vivian.

The teachers started to persuade Vivian, wanting her to attend the party for the sake of them. They wanted to bid farewell to their beloved colleague.

If Victor were the one persuading her, she would ignore him. However, she did not want to let her colleagues down.

After all, she met quite a lot of good friends here throughout the past three years. Although she wouldn’t say she made some best friends here, they were all nice people at least. It was only normal for them to get together before she left.

Left with no choice, Vivian could only agree to attend the party.

Instantly, Victor heaved a sigh of relief. He was secretly rejoicing at the thought of getting Vivian laid on that day.

...

In the President’s office. William Delaney slammed his fist on the table, “Nonsense! It’s not like there’s no other space for her to work. Why would she want to work in the same office with Leo?”

Terrified, James Donovan did not dare to utter a word. He thought that Sophie went overboard as well. It was as though she was announcing to everybody that she and Leo were together.

Then, he thought of how she kept forcing Eric Chou to bring her evidence. It showed that her patience was wearing thin, and she was about to shine a light on her relationship with Leo.

“What is she thinking about? Is she planning to p*ss me off?” William Delaney bellowed.

“Mr. William, don’t be angry. She’s still young...”

“Young? And what is wrong with that Leo? Isn’t he already married? Why is he pestering Sophie then?”

James Donovan knew that Leo wasn’t the one pestering Sophie, yet he could not simply correct William Delaney. Hence, he kept silent.

William Delaney had no idea how to deal with Sophie. He tried everything from scolding to beating her up, yet nothing worked.

“Mr. William, I have a suggestion.”

“Tell me. What do you have in mind?”

Andrew from the telecom department, sought to remove Ms. Sophie from the consultation team. And let some consultants joined the selling department to have some experience. I believe it is a worthy idea.

“That’s excellent. I’m eager to try it too. Are you suggesting we integrate all consultation teams into the sales system?”

James Donovan nodded, responding, “Exactly. We’ll put it under Elton’s name and send Leo out of town. That should resolve our issue.”

William Delaney hesitated. While it was a promising idea, it represented a significant overhaul for the department.

He felt more at ease if the reform were applied elsewhere.

But the telecom department was the company's largest revenue generator. He worried the changes might impact overall income.

Anticipating William’s concerns, James smiled reassuringly, “You don’t need to worry. We’ll implement changes gradually, allowing everyone to adjust to new roles without disrupting business.”

“Except for Leo. We can transfer him to the sales team right away and assign him out of town, which will separate him from Ms. Sophie immediately.”

After a moment of contemplation, William agreed, “Let’s proceed with your plan. Have Andrew communicate this to his staff, ensure all paperwork is completed by Wednesday, and inform Elton to hold a sales meeting on Friday with the necessary documents ready.”

Mr. Andrew felt sympathy for Leo, his best friend. He never anticipated such an outcome—losing his position and starting anew.

After a few cigarettes, Mr. Andrew decided to warn Leo before the official announcement.

He picked up his phone, hesitated, set it down, then picked it up again. Finally, he dialed Leo’s number.

“Leo, come to my office. I need to talk to you!”

When Leo arrived, he exclaimed, “D*mn Andrew! Didn’t you agree to quit smoking with me.”

But Mr. Andrew opened the window, gesturing to the chair before him. “Just deal with it. I wouldn’t have smoked so much if it weren’t for you.”
