Chapter 17 Luther Missed His Appointment

It was unknown whether he was hungry or he felt as his son had said that this dumpling had the taste of home. Surprisingly, Luther ended up eating two full plates.

After the meal, Melina took Bennett out for a walk. Luther sat in the study and listened to the butler's reports during these days.

"You mean, she has been accompanying Bennett for the past few days?"

"Yes, Madam really cares about Young Master. Other than when Young Master was studying in class, she was practically ialways by his side. As for the decorations at home, Madam said that Master needed more bright colors, so she changed the furnishings."

"Plus, these were personally chosen by Madam. The material is also hypoallergenic." At the mention of Melina, the butler could be said to be full of praise.

"It seems that you all like her very much." Luther looked at the man in front of him with a bit surprise. His butler was sent by her mother. The butler had watched him grow up since he was a child. The butler were extremely picky and strict.

"Yes, everyone in the family likes Madam very much. She's down-to-earth and genuinely kind."

"And Master, do you know? Madam also applied for nursing and psychology courses. The psychology course is naturally for taking care of Young Master, but the nursing course is for you." The old butler said with a smile.

"That's right. Young Master told Madam that you have a bad temper. You alos have insomnia..."

Luther was speechless, thinking to himself, "Bennett, you are really my good son."

Seeing that Luther was willing to listen, the old butler continued to talk about some small matters.

Gradually, the image of Melina became clear in Luther's heart. He looked at the warm flower tea on the table and noticed the fresh sunflowers at the corner of the table.

For the first time in a long while, a small beam of light seemed to pierce through Luther's dark world.

"Thank you for your hard work these days." After sending the old butler off, Luther summoned Melina.

She was also very satisfied with her current life. She naturally revealed a happy smile on her face. When she heard this, she nodded cheerfully at his words.

"You certainly don't hold back." Seeing her actions, Luther laughed.

"So what? Don't think it's easy to be a full-time wife. It's actually very hard!" Melina said casually, completely unaware that she had already put herself in the role of Mrs. Blackwood.

"You don't have to go to work. I can support you."

"No, men are all scums and unreliable. It is better to be self-sufficient. And now that I have been promoted, my monthly salary has increased by three times!" Thinking of money, Melina's eyes lit up.

She had already found a parent-child summer camp, which could cost only fifty thousand to let each person go abroad!

"Three times your salary? Can you afford the bag that I bought for you?" Seeing her showing off, Luther couldn't help but tease her. After all, he was the one who arranged her work.

"I..."

"I don't need it! I don't like bags anyway." Melina retorted, thinking to herself, "What's the use of bags? Are they edible?"

"Then what do you like?" Luther asked in a pretty good mood.

"I... what I like is not something that can be bought with my own money." Melina chuckled and changed the topic.

"Now that you ate my dumplings, can you promise me one thing?"

"Go on." Luther's voice did not change, but his tone was still a little light. He thought to himself, "So, does her kindness has strings attached?"

"Ben has always wanted to go to the amusement park. I'm free at any time, but he hopes that we can go together as a family. So, do you have time?" As if afraid that he would refuse, Melina hurriedly cited the classics, "Psychologist Freud said that..."

Her request surprised Luther again, especially when she actually gave ten examples to convince him. "It was really demanding for her brain..." He thought.

"Fine, I'll go to Falconridge tomorrow afternoon. Go sleep earlier. Don't wait for me."

"Who wants to wait for you!" Melina secretly muttered in her stomach, but she still put on a smile on her face, "Alright, then I'll see you tomorrow. Take care."

"Melina." Seeing that she was about to leave, Luther called out to her.

"What?"

"Your smile looks silly."

Melina was speechless.

At the thought that they could finally go to the amusement park, Melina got up early to prepare snacks and afternoon tea. She also helped Bennett change into the same mother-and-son suit as herself.

She had not been to the amusement park for many years and was very excited about those exciting entertainment facilities.

However, no one expected that Luther, who had always been punctual, would fail to show up when they were all at the amusement park.

Half an hour later, she received a message from Luther that he had something to do and could not come.

"How about Mommy plays with you?" Looking at his son's disappointed face, Melina comforted him softly, "Maybe Dad will only be busy for a while. Let's go in first. Maybe he will come soon."

"He won't come." Bennett shook his head, his tender little face revealing a sneer that did not match his age. "He was coaxed away by that woman again. According to the usual circumstances, he won't be able to come back in a few days."

"That woman?"

Melina's heart seemed to have been stabbed by something, leaving an ache behind.
