Chapter 28 Hello, Nephew

Melina did not know that Luther had secretly helped her get back at Florence.

To prevent Florence from blocking her way, she still slipped away from the special passageway.

In fact, there was indeed someone blocking her way.

Keira never thought that she would really be fired because of just a few words, and she was fired without any compensation fee.

Although it wasn't like she couldn't find another job, she still put the blame on Melina.

She thought if not for Melina, how could she have met this hurdle!

However, when it was 9 o'clock, she did not see Melina come out of the company. The only thing she got was being bitten by mosquitoes.

Now that she was fired, she couldn't enter the gate.

She also tried to call Melina and send a message on WhatsApp.

However, she had already been blacklisted, and she was so angry that she stomped her feet.

Just as she was about to give up on her revenge plan, suddenly, a piece of valuable news flashed through the social group chat that she had joined a long time ago.

"Melina... You better not cross my path again." She stared at the screen and gritted her teeth in excitement. In a moment of carelessness, she stepped on a piece of watermelon peel and slipped, falling to the ground.

"Ahhh!"

...

Under Luther's control, the rhythm of Melina's life was not interrupted.

She was still disliked by the boss during the day and ridiculed by her husband at night.

Even when she looked at herself in the mirror, she felt that her resilience was stronger and stronger.

The only thing that made her a little uneasy was the weekend banquet.

Blackwood family, this mysterious family, seemed to have many special rules.

On this day, Melina also deeply experienced how terrifying a perfectionist was.

Before dawn, she was kicked out of bed by Luther.

Yes, it was a kick!

Although there was still no substantial progress between them these days, Luther seemed to have used her as a pillow. Every night, no matter how late it was, he would come over and sleep with her.

This sleep meant that they were literally sleeping.

There had been no intimate moments between them.

This made Melina rejoice that she didn't lose her chastity. At the same time, she felt a little inferior, thinking to herself, "In any case, I was still considered as the beauty in our fishing village. Why didn't Luther treat me as a woman at all?"

"Could it be..."

"What hidden impotence did he have?"

After all, for so many years, she had never heard any rumors about him.

As for his child, there was only the one she had given birth to back then.

Feeling the cold air that the man exuded, Melina felt closer to the truth. She looked at Luther with more sympathy.

What's that saying? The more powerful a man is, the more he couldn't accept that he was impotent!

"Melina."

Luther really couldn't stand her strange gaze, thinking to himself, "Did this woman take the wrong medicine again?"

"Ah... I'm here..." Melina was snapped back to reality."Well, Fourth Master, why don't you tell me the rules of your family? What if I make a mistake later?"

"Also, I heard from the baby that your grandmother is still alive. What if Senior Madam throws me a check to let me choose between you and the money? Can I choose the money? Of course, don't stare at me. I'm not leaving you. I just think that it's stupid to reject the money." Melina kept muttered.

Luther's hand that was holding the phone trembled slightly.

He really wanted to knock Melina's head open and see what was inside.

She seemed to love money, but when he gave her a house, a car, and a bank card, she didn't want any of them.

But she also seemed to love money. Just listen to what she said just now.

"My house, my rules." Luther said coldly. "Also, Senior Madam will only give you a greeting gift. She will not let you leave me."

"Why?" Melina was really curious this time, thinking to herself, "Aren't there always some villains in the plot of the story? Some dramas like throwing a check with bare hands? Grandpa is seriously ill and needs an heir..."

"No reason."Luther replied coolly, his tone as indifferent as ever. "Melina, are you a parrot?"

Luther said indifferently. He picked up a piece of newspaper and blocked his view. He looked as if he didn't want to face Melina anymore, which made Bill on the side anxious.

Bill thought that his Boss was now on the wrong path in chasing after his wife. "Boss hasn't really fallen in love yet. If he falls in love with her later, won't he regret it?"

Bill finally realized that making things difficult for themselves was everyone's innate skill.

By the time Melina and Luther left the manor together, it was already evening.

The sky was streaked with a brilliant mix of blue and red hues, as beautiful as a bright oil painting.

As his wife, she sat next to Luther. Bennett was alone in another car.

Surrounded by the long motorcade, she almost could not see the street outside, which made Melina feel a little regretful.

Although Luther looked like he was working, the corner of his eyes never left her.

There was something undeniably unique about her

It was very clean and energetic, making it hard for Luther to imagine what her heart was like.

In his memory, she seemed to have only felt sad for a few days when she found out that she had been betrayed.

Luther thought to himself, "Is she strong enough or does she not take this matter to heart at all?"

The more he thought about it, the more complicated he became, and being suspicious by nature, he even began to deduce in his mind.

It was a good thing that Melina did not know what he was thinking, otherwise, she would definitely mock him for being so dramatic and overthinking everything.

The car stopped.

All of a sudden, a cold wind blew into the carriage, causing the drowsy Melina to wake up.

Unlike Luther's ancient and mysterious manor, Blackwood family's old residence was much more down-to-earth.

There was a row of villas with artificial lakes and two stone lions in front of the door.

It seemed that Luther's reputation was also very valuable in the clan.

She took his arm and walked in, greeting everyone all the way, several of whom could be old enough to be her father!

"What exactly did you do at home?" she whispered curiously. "Why do I feel like they are all afraid of you?" Seeing that Luther did not intend to let her go and talk to others, Melina could not help but be like a curious baby and directly pinched Luther's wrist.

In her opinion, in the past month or so, apart from the fact that Luther rarely appeared during the day, there were no other abnormalities.

"Aren't you afraid of me?"

Luther turned to look at her.

They sat so close to each other that he could smell the fragrance of her hair and see the soft fuzz on her face.

"No." she declared confidently, "I have a secret weapon."

"Huh?"

"Torchlight. Your son has already sold you out. You are afraid of the bright light. If you're exposed to a strong flashlight, you will faint!" Melina said proudly, completely unaware that she had sold her son out.

"Melina." Luther's low voice almost broke down. "Do you believe that if you say one more word, I will make you faint right now?"

Luther couldn't help but threaten her, thinking to himself, "What's wrong with this woman today? She must have swallow a lion's heart for breakfast. She even becomes a chatterbox."

But then he noticed something that made him pause-her hands were trembling.

Just as Luther was about to ask, a reserved and somewhat fawning voice suddenly sounded from behind him.

"Uncle."

Turning around, he saw his "love rival", his distantly related nephew, Dorian.

In an instant, he understood the unusually fluctuating emotions of the woman beside him.

"Does she still care?" he wondered. "Or is she still angry?"

No matter which reason, Luther was unhappy.

"This is your Melina, your aunt."

Without waiting for Dorian to speak, Luther took the initiative to pull Melina forward and said generously.

"Hello, Nephew Dorian. Long time no see."

Melina, who had been forcefully pushed up, immediately responded with a smile. The kind expression in her eyes was sarcastically sincere.

"Long... Long time no see..." Dorian stammered, clearly taken aback.

On the way here, Dorian was constantly comforting himself, thinking to himself, "Melina cannot be the woman that Luther will marry. She is a woman that I do not want. How could Luther, with such a picky eye, take a fancy to her?"

Even after entering the door and seeing the radiant figure beside Luther, he still deceived himself and thought that this was just a woman who was somewhat similar to his ex-girlfriend.

Unexpectedly, Luther personally recognized her identity.

"But... addressing my ex-girlfriend aunt? I won't do it, even if I was beaten to death!" Dorian thought.

Vanessa, who was standing next to him, was just as surprised as him. She said in a silly voice, "You are not Melina, right? How can Melina be so good-looking?"

Puff-

Hearing her words, Melina could not help but laugh.

The feeling of being praised by the enemy was really different.

She was about to speak when she felt a sudden tightening around her waist. Immediately, an impatient voice sounded. "Dorian, if you have time, visit the hospital and get your eyes checked. It's best to do a comprehensive examination. There's nothing more idiotic than being brainless."

After Luther finished speaking, he directly pulled Melina away.

His voice was not loud, but the onlookers outside the circle could hear it.

Dorian's turned an unpleasant shade of green. He clenched his fists and was so angry that he wanted to smash the wall. However, thinking about Luther's position in Blackwood family, he found that he had no other choice but to endure it.

At this moment, Senior Madam arrived.

She was completely different from what Melina had imagined.

She was dressed in a vintage-style outfit straight out of the early 20th century, with a fitted, high-necked lace blouse tucked into a long, flowing skirt. The skirt brushed the floor, its fabric swaying gracefully with each step. Her hair was styled in soft waves, pinned back with an elegant pearl hair comb, and she wore a delicate cameo brooch at her collar, adding a touch of old-world charm.

Even the marks of time on her face could not hide her former beauty.

"Luther is here."

"He even brought his wife here..."

Senior Madam had lived in the capital for many years, but she still did not change her native accent. Melina suddenly felt a sense of familiarity when she heard it.

Luther's demeanor changed from his usual indifference to others. He pulled Melina and walked quickly to the old woman. He took off his suit and draped it over Senior Madam.

Although his tone was cold, it was filled with concern.

"Grandmother, why are you so cool again? It's chily here, yet you're already dressed like this."

Senior Madam was not angry at her grandson's scolding. She even shrunk her shoulders very adorably and then looked at Melina with a fawning gaze. "Oh well, let's have a look. Oh, I'm looking forward to seeing my new granddaughter-in-law."

"Alright, come. You're Melina, right? Come to Grandmother, Grandmother has something good to give you." Senior Madam said affectionately and searched something behind her for a long time. "Reach out your hand."

Melina obediently reached out her hand and felt a cold sensation on her wrist.

When she looked up again, she heard a murmur spreading through the room.

She thought to herself, "Isn't it just a bracelet? Why are these people surprised?"

She looked at Luther in confusion. However, he still wore a mask, so she could not see anything.
