Chapter 40 Kiss Her

"Who is this person? Is he really your godfather? Is there no problem with his eyes?" Melina looked at her son with a very strange look. She frowned but did not speak.

William only took her silence as shyness. Then, he took another step forward and stuffed the flowers into Melina's hands. Then, he sat down opposite them with an air of nonchalance.

"Good evening, beautiful lady. My name is William Evans, an ordinary chef." He finally found a woman in the capital that he was attracted to at a glance.

He thought to himself, "Did the god finally hear my call?"

"Hello..." The corners of Melina's mouth twitched as she said with difficulty.

There seemed to be something wrong with this godfather.

"Ahem. Godfather, can you not be so infatuated!" Bennett really couldn't stand it anymore. Although he admitted that his mother was indeed very beautiful, he thought to himself, "Young Master Evans, you are one of the four masters of the capital after all. Don't act like a love-struck fool!"

"Ah? Bennett, you're here too!" William exclaimed.

Bennett was speechless.

Melina also became speechless.

Bennett thought to himself, "It's over. He's doomed!"

"Let me introduce you. This is my mommy, your second sister-in-law, Melina."

Crack-

Young Master Evans's heart shattered.

...

"This is unfair!"

"This is too unfair!"

"Why is it that Luther,a temperamental blockhead with the emotional range of a rock, can find such a good wife? I'm such a lovely, warm, sunny, and handsome man, but I'm single!"

After confirming Melina's identity again and again, William turned on the hateful mode to blame the gods and fault others.

It wasn't easy for him to fall in love with a girl, but in the end, she turned out to be his friend's wife.

"Probably this is fate?" Melina threw a piece of beef into her mouth and instinctively replied.

"Puff-" William couldn't help but spit out a mouthful of the drink.

Then his eyes became bitter, which made Melina's hair stand on end.

"Now I completely believe that you and Luther are one family." William said faintly.

"Why?" she asked, genuinely puzzled.

"You two look exactly the same when you are being sharp-tongued! I'm your ally! Your ally! You still treat me like this when you eat my beef!"

Melina blinked innocently. "I gave you money. Don't you understand that customers are God?"

William became speechless and thought it seemed to make sense.

He thought to himself, "No! Why would I accept the money of my godson?"

He and Luther were practically opposites. William was a chatterbox.

What was more, he was a patient of acute talkativeness. Melina could understand why he couldn't find a girlfriend after having a meal with him.

She thought to herself, "What kind of superhuman mental fortitude does a girl have to be able to accept him?"

However, his cooking skills were really good. The seasoning and the hotpot condiment were all first-class.

She had originally planned to lose weight but in the end...

"Hey, after eating my hotpot, do you want to treat me to a drink?" Seeing that it was only 8 o'clock, William decided to find some fun for himself.

The way he looked at Melina now was as if Columbus had discovered a new continent. He thought to himself, "Jesus, there really is a person who could stand Luther these days!"

"But Bennett is allergic to alcohol."

"Who said that I'm going to take you two to drink wine? Come, come with me. I'll take you to a cat cafe." William said mysteriously. Then he took the mother and son into the car, completely without the psychological burden of taking away someone else's wife.

"Cat cafe!"

"Is it the cat mansion?" Bennett said excitedly.

"Yes, a friend of mine opened it recently. He is also a coffee maker with international awards. Don't worry. Security and hygiene here are guaranteed." William replied.

Although Bennett already had a cat, it was still a happy thing to be able to play with other cats.

Plus, because Luther did not like cats, the cat they bought before was now living alone in Melina's apartment. During lunch break every day, Melina would go back to accompany it. During the rest of the time, the cat was dependent on a 24-hour automatic cat-feeding machine.

The more the three of them chatted, the happier they became, and they naturally forgot to go home.

They also forgot their dear Mr. Blackwood.

...

What was love?

It was that dopamine rush, a type of adrenaline!

Even after staying up late for dozens of hours, Luther was still full of eagerness.

He wanted to go home and ask Melina personally. He thought to himself, "How could she say something like that so directly? Even if she really likes me, she should be a littl emore reserved."

After all, he was not ready to start a real relationship.

But...

After entering the house, he was dumbfounded.

The empty living room was so silent that the sound of needles falling could be heard.

The mother and son, who should have gone out to welcome him home in his imagination, were nowhere to be found.

"Master, you are back."

The butler, with his hands behind his back, slowly walked back from the garden and looked at the man he had taken care of since he was a child.

The butler thought Luther was very good and very smart, but he was just a little slow in terms of romance.

"Yes. Uncle, where are they?" Luther asked somewhat unnaturally.

The old butler looked at him peculiarly and said in surprise, "Don't you know? Madam called an hour ago to say that she and Young Master are not coming back, so she stayed in the apartment."

"What?" Luther's voice was sharp with disbelief.

"Ahem." Bill, who was warm and thoughtful enough to understand the situation, opened his Instagram and handed it over to Luther.

[Young Master] "I'm with Mommy and my godfather! We have had a great time together! Happy!"

"Godfather?"

Luther quickly took out his mobile phone and checked the four-person chat group that was usually blocked. There was nothing he could do since there was a chatterbox inside.

As expected, there were already 99+ unread messages from the top.

When he scrolled through, not only did he see the trash talk of someone, but he also saw the photos of his woman from various angles.

She was dressed in a vintage suit. She looked less of sharpness than she was in the workplace and more of tenderness than the women in the past.

For some reason, he felt that this style was very familiar.

It was as if he had seen it somewhere before.

But...

He thought to himself, "Why did she have a meal with another man again!"

"But the gifts that Madam bought for you have already been sent back. Do you want to take a look?" When he saw that his Boss's flame was about to burst out again, Bill quickly interjected.

"Gifts?" Luther followed the direction of Bill's finger and saw a few large shopping bags on the sofa.

He thought to himself, "Women, they just like to buy some clothes. Does she think she can calm me down just like that? Does she believe I can be so easily placated?"

With a sullen expression, he poured out everything in the bags without saying a word.

Apart from the clothes, he found a few small boxes.

He took a closer look!

"Ah?"

It turned out to be underwear...

He thought to himself, "It is my size, but why did she suddenly buy me underwear?"

In his mind, Melina's shy confession began to echo again. Luther looked at the things in his hands in a daze, and his mind was suddenly a mess.

He scratched his hair and thought for a moment.

He decided to not get angry with Melina, at least not yet, and took the initiative to find her. After all, his woman had already hinted so clearly, so he could not be too unreasonable.

Although this was different from the script he had expected, it would be best if she really liked him and was willing to take the initiative to give birth to his child.

"Prepare the car." he ordered, his voice steady but filled with determination.

"Yes." Bill quickly complied, hiding his grin.

Luther pretended to be indifferent and forgive everything had happened before. The corner of his mouth under the mask was already approaching his ears.

This was the first time he had received such gifts in his entire life!

He felt wonderful!

...

Melina, on the other hand, did not know that just buying a few pieces of underwear had made someone think that she really liked him.

After all, it had only been a short period that they got along with each other. Her current impression of Luther was that he was her son's father, so she had to treat him well.

So when Luther didn't come home-or when she didn't return-she didn't think much of it.

In any case, as long as her son was fine, everything else wasn't important.

"Mommy, do you think Daddy will miss us?" Bennett lay on the bed and said with drowsy eyes.

"He will. He will definitely miss you." Once she lied, she had to use countless lies to cover up the truth. Now that Melina was able to play such tricks, her expression did not change, and her heart did not beat faster.

She thought to herself, "Will Luther miss us? Fat chance! Maybe he's having fun somewhere now! Maybe he is even comforting Miss Haverford at her place."

"Then do you want to call him?" Bennett added.

"Now?" Melina glanced at her watch and said hypocritically, "It's already past ten. He's probably already asleep. I should send him a text tomorrow. We'd better not disturb him now."

"Yes."

"Good night, Mommy."

Bennett, who had not successfully fooled her, didn't feel discouraged. He obediently kissed her and then closed his eyes.

Melina looked at her sweet, obedient son, her heart filled with great satisfaction.

However, looking at this little face, she could not help but think of that person.

Just as she was about to fall asleep in a daze, she heard the sound of a door being unlocked from outside the door.

Instantly, Melina's hair stood on end.

She instinctively pushed her son into the corner of the wall and covered him with a blanket.

She switched her phone to an emergency-call mode and picked up the self-defense electric baton she had placed on the table.

One should not ask why it was on the table. This was all because she was scared of being tricked again just as she had been tricked back then.

Just as she was about to rush out, the lights in the living room were turned on.

A black shadow entered her eyes.

"Luther?"

Melina rubbed her eyes in disbelief.

She thought to herself, "Am I dreaming? How could Luther come to my apartment?"

"Melina!"

Luther was on the verge of collapsing. He had stayed up late for dozens of hours and had just fallen asleep in the car. However, when Bill told him that they had arrived, he had no choice but to cheer up again. Then, sadly, he encountered an elevator check again. He...

He climbed more than ten flights of stairs.

"Why are you here?" After confirming that this guy was Luther, Melina walked out of the bedroom. Her son was already asleep and she did not want to wake him up.

"Why can't I be here? Why don't you go home!" Luther asked while panting.

His tone made Melina immediately angry.

She deliberately used a sharp and sarcastic tone to sneer at him, "Since you don't go home, why should I go home? I don't know which woman you were with the whole night, and do you still have a reason? Unbelievable, you're starting now..."

The woman's tirade stopped abruptly-

One Question. How to stop a chattering woman?

Kiss her! Kiss her! Kiss her with all your might!

Luther pressed her down on the sofa and then kissed her heavily. Being self-taught, he slowly slid his hand down her waist...
