A few days ago, Theodore's father, Declan Kingsley, went to visit his grandfather behind Theodore's back. Declan took advantage of the grandfather's delirium and forced the grandfather to change his will. When Theodore received the news, he rushed home and saw that his poor grandfather was forced onto the table. He was so furious that he wanted to beat his inhumane father up. He would have done so if Declan hadn't fled the scene.
"Boss, Senior Master is clear-headed now. Moreover, he had brought Master Jasper with him, so he wouldn't cross the line," Mark quickly followed after Theodore and said softly. "They have come to pay their respects to the Mistress."
Master Jasper, or Jasper Kingsley, was Theodore's half-brother. Although he was already twenty-year-old, he looked like a weak young girl of sixteen to seventeen-year-old because he was constantly falling sick from a young age. He couldn't handle external stimuli well. Everybody knew Declan loved this younger son very much. Moreover, Ethan insisted Declan on visiting the grave of Theodore's mother, Vivian Lam, on the anniversaries of her death every year. Because of this, Mark must have guessed right.
However, Theodore chuckled coldly. "He didn't come alone! Besides, my mother's death anniversary is over."
His mother was buried at the Eternal Peace Cemetery behind the Forest in West City. The anniversary of her death was two days ago. He went through the forest early that morning. It was a shortcut to Eternal Peace Cemetery where he visited his mother's grave. As a result, he happened to find the victim's body.
Mark worried that what he said was wrong, and started to worry about Senior Master. So, he stepped on the accelerator and drove faster.
"Theo, you're back?" Theodore entered the house and saw Declan smiling at him.
As usual, Theodore ignored him. He quickly walked toward his grandfather. Then, he pushed Yvonne Dean, who was sitting close to his grandfather, away.
"Ouch!" Yvonne lost her balance and almost fell down.
Declan caught her just in time and scolded, "What are you doing?"
Theodore pointed at the door and said coldly, "All of you, get out of here!"
"Get out of here? Theodore, how dare you talk to me like that? Don't forget that I'm your father!"
"Declan!" Yvonne stopped Declan from scolding him. Then, she used her usual gentle voice and explained the situation to Theodore, "Theo, you've misunderstood your father. Since he was away on a business trip two days ago, he is now here to visit your mother's grave."
"Yes, that's true. We are going to visit auntie's grave."Charlotte, who had just come out from the bathroom, quickly ran over and confirmed her aunt's words.
"Is it?" Theodore glanced at her, who was all dolled up, and sneered. "I thought you just returned from a wedding ceremony."
Only then didCharlotte realize that she was dressed inappropriately, so she quickly looked at her aunt for help.
Yvonne's face turned sour at once. She wanted her niece to visit Vivian's grave in order to please Theodore, but she didn't expect her plan to backfire.
"Charlotte is young and she still doesn't know the ways of the world," Declan said in defense.
Theodore chuckled lightly and asked, "It doesn't matter if she doesn't know the ways of the world as long as she is young and knows how to please men, right?"
Seeing that Theodore was taunting Yvonne and himself, Declan was furious. "Theodore, mind your words!"
"My mother doesn't want to see either one of you. Please don't disturb her anymore," Theodore replied rudely and interrupted his father.
"Theo, I was the one who asked Declan to take them there."
"Grandfather!" Theodore was very displeased when he heard his grandfather, who had been quiet all along, speak out.
Ethan sighed. "Theo, my days in this world are numbered. You are the one I worry about most. I really hope to see you start your own family and have kids while I'm still alive."
"As for this matter, I have my own priorities."
"Your brother is already twenty years old. There are some things that you have to let go. If your mother's soul is in heaven, she would want you and your father to be on good terms. Charlotte is an innocent and good girl. Moreover, she loves you very much. Among the girls that you've dated, I like her the most. It would be better if the both of you can be together."
"Grandpa!"
He didn't expect his grandfather to use this method to resolve the grievances between him and Declan.
"Didn't Grandfather know how much he hated Declan and Yvonne? Or was Grandfather sick and confused, or bewitched by them?" Theodore thought.
Theodore's handsome face twisted in anger as he said with hatred, "Even when all the women in this world are dead, I will never marry a woman from the Dean Family!"
Ethan didn't expect his grandson to so firmly stand his ground. He said with a serious tone, "As long as I'm still breathing, you will never bring those loose women into the family!"
"Daddy, talk slowly if you have something to say. Don't be angry. The doctor has warned repeatedly that you cannot be too emotional. You must not be angry." Yvonne held Ethan and gently patted his back.
Theodore ignored her words and spelled his word clearly, "I will marry whomever I please!"
"Theodore!" Looking at his grandson who didn't show a hint of compromising, Ethan furiously pushed Yvonne away. "Go help Charlotte pack. Let her move in here."
"What?" Yvonne was startled. Yet, she understood the meaning of this and nodded happily.
"Go then." Ethan waved his hand and sat down slowly.
Declan was also very happy. Holding his son, he and his wife—who had a big smile on her face—left hurriedly with his niece.
Ethan watched them walk out of the door, then looked at his grandson who was staring at them angrily. Ethan softened his stance and advised him, "Theo, Grandpa is doing what's best for you. If you and Charlotte get together, then you and your father can finally let go of your grudges and build the SkyForge Group's glory once again together. This is my wish."
"Him? He is no good at accomplishing things. All he does is destroy this family!" Theodore looked on in disdain.
"But you are father and son!"
"I don't recognize him as my father."
"Theo!" Ethan paused and continued. "You must conform to my arrangements with Charlotte. I must..."
"I will marry whomever I please! It is nobody else's business!"
"It is nobody else's business?" Ethan's eyes flashed with anger and he said. "Don't forget that I still own 80% of SkyForge Group's shares. I have not made my will yet. Whoever goes against my will would only end up with nothing."
"Whatever," Theodore said. He turned around without a damn.
"Theodore, stop it! Stay there!"
Theodore ignored his grandfather's angry shouts and headed out with his head held high.
Would he even compromise so easily?
This was a joke!
"Boss, something is wrong." As soon as he walked through the door, his bodyguard, Emerson Royston, rushed toward him.
Meanwhile, Evelyn was trying to wash Theodore's clothes with shower gel. This was what Wendy taught her. She had mentioned that Theodore's clothes were expensive and branded. Therefore, ordinary laundry detergent wouldn't do.
"Evelyn, come out!"
Suddenly, her mother roared from the living room, giving Evelyn the fright of her life.
Didn't she already explain clearly what was going on between her and Theodore? What was it now?
"Stupid girl, how dare you pretend to be deaf? Do you want me to get you myself?"
Although she was unsure of what was going on, she knew with certainty that something big must have happened. She understood her mother very well. Evelyn quickly put down the clothes and walked fearfully to her mother.
"What is this?" Dana poked Evelyn's head with a phone and flashed it at her.
As soon as she saw the contents on the screen, Evelyn felt a buzz go through her head and she almost fainted.
