Shannon and Mason fixed their eyes and found it was Susan, who was followed by Amy.
Mason subconsciously pulled Shannon behind him when he saw them.
“Amy, go and inform Coade that Shannon slept with a man right here last night.” Susan sneered at Shannon.
Amy got out of the room immediately to call for people.
Shannon wrapped in a quilt and looked at Susan calmly, “Don’t talk nonsense if you don’t know the truth. I am innocent with Mason.”
Mason was embarrassed, looking at Shannon and then Susan.
Susan held her arms and looked at Shannon, “Don’t pretend to be innocent. Who would believe you? Is it necessary to explain after you’ve climbed into his bed? Mr. Yates has made it clear that anyone working here can’t have a romance without permission, but you violate the rule! Shannon, it might not matter if you get fired, but it’s such a shame for Mason to be dragged into this!”
Just when Shannon walked out of the house last night, Susan and Amy followed behind. When Shannon walked into a dense grove, they covered her mouth from behind, and sent her to Mason’s room when she was unconscious.
Mason loved Shannon so much. Of course, he did not refuse. Besides, Susan and Amy told him that was only way to make Shannon marry him.
Mason pretended to be afraid. He clenched his fists tightly and stood up, “We are innocent. Don’t talk nonsense!”
“You both sleep in the same bed. Do you think I am blind?”
With a complacent gesture, Susan embraced her arms, “I’ve got an idea. As long as you get married, you won’t violate Mr. Yates’s rule.”
After that, she swaggered away.
“Shannon, I don’t mind. It’s no big deal if we leave here together.” Mason looked indifferent, but the fear in his eyes betrayed him.
Shannon did not want to get Mason into trouble.
Thus, when Coade walked over, Shannon directly told him that Mason and she had been engaged.
Coade smiled when he heard this. He seemed very satisfied with the answer, “Ms. Somers, Mr. Yates would be very happy to hear your engagement. In addition, if you are preparing for the wedding, you can both ask for leave in advance.”
Shannon looked at Coade coldly with no words, but Mason kept smiling obsequiously, “Okay, Mr. Coade, we’ll let you know in advance once we set the wedding date.”
Coade walked out of Mason’s room and passed through the garden to a hidden place. Amy and Susan also followed.
“Tell Mrs. Yates, everything is done.” Coade whispered.
Susan and Amy faced each other with a smile of victory.
Coade didn’t want to work hand in glove with Susan and Amy, but Dayle threatened him with his family in Modopolis and forced him to do so.
Ethan caught a cold because of the rain and still lay in bed in a coma. During the period, Dayle called several times. Uncle John answered for him the whole time.
Dayle called for her coming to Fairburg. She wanted Ethan to send someone to pick her up.
Uncle John said that he would do that.
Ethan was supposed to go back to Modopolis to visit his mother. And Dayle also waited for him. A week passed. Ethan did not go back. Dayle could not wait any more, so she came to Fairburg ahead of time.
Uncle John asked Coade seriously when he came in, “Is she really in Mason’s room?”
Coade nodded affirmatively, “Mr. Yates and we looked for her all night, but she ran to Mason’s room without saying a word. She’s going too far. When I went there, she was still lying in Mason’s bed. She said that she had been engaged to Mason, and it was normal for them to sleep together.
Uncle John frowned.
“All right. You can leave now. Mr. Yates needs a break.” After Uncle John said, he looked at Ethan on the bed with concern.
Coade left wisely.
At this time, Lillian came in again and said anxiously, “Uncle John, the young master and princess are crying, I fail to comfort them. What should I do? Do I need to ask Amy and Susan to take care of them?” Amy and Susan were assigned to the garden by Ethan. Without his permission, they absolutely could not take care of Wesley and Nancy.
Uncle John also fell into a dilemma and frowned seriously.
“I heard that Shannon was in Mason’s room. How about I ask her to be here. After all, she is the only one who can comfort them.” Lillian said carefully.
Uncle John thought about it and nodded. Lillian went downstairs quickly to find Shannon.
Shannon was ready to leave at the very moment.
The engagement story was just for tricking Amy and Susan. Otherwise, they would escalate the whole thing to get Mason faired.
“Shannon, how about you go to my sister’s place? I’ll send you there.” Mason retained her with reluctance.
Shannon shook her head, “I will go to the hospital to take care of my mother.”
“Don’t worry. I will take care of your mother with you. Shannon, since you have told them that we are engaged, how about you give me a chance to be your husband and you can still leave if I am not good to you?” Mason prayed.
“Mason, I am sorry, I’m not in the mood to talk anything about marriage. I still have a lot of things to deal with...I’m serious. I can’t get you into trouble.” Shannon tried not to hurt Mason when she refused him.
But Mason didn’t give up.
When Shannon was sent out of the villa, Mason suddenly knelt at Shannon’s feet in front of all the staff. He pulled out a box he had prepared for a long time, “Shannon, I formally propose to you now, will you marry me? I swear I will only love you and be good to you all my life.”
“Mason, come on, get up!” Shannon looked at the people around her, and she hurried to stop Mason who was kneeling at her feet.
The safeguards standing at the door ooked at her, so did the staff in the garden.
“Shannon, will you? Now that everyone knows we live together, I should be responsible for you.” Mason held her hands.
It seemed that he would not stand up until she said yes.
But how could Shannon promise him for something she had never thought about?
This “marriage proposal” suddenly fell into a stalemate.
“Shannon, be quick and look after the young master and princess. They keep crying. I wasn’t able to comfort them, so Uncle John asked me to call you!” Lillian walked over hastily and broke the stalemate.
Shannon was about to leave, but she became worried again when she heard Wesley and Nancy crying.
“Mason, give me some time. I have to see Wesley and Nancy right now.” Shannon took advantage of the issue to assuage the whole thing.
Mason had to put away the proposal ring, and said with a forced smile, “It does not matter. We’ve already been engaged. The marriage proposal is just a ceremony.”
Shannon had no time to explain to him. She sped up her pace and fled with Lillian.
Wesley and Nancy were hungry. After feeding, they fall asleep quickly.
“Lillian, I have to go. Take good care of them.” Shannon looked at her watch.
She was worried that Ethan would see her when he came back.
She did not want Ethan to misunderstand that she wouldn’t leave here.
Lillian poured a glass of water for Shannon, “Where are you going? Mr. Yates haven’t found a suitable babysitter yet. You can’t leave right now.”
Shannon packed her things, ignoring Lillian’s words.
Lillian pulled Shannon, “What a jerk? Do you know Mr. Yates looked for you in the heavy rain for a long time last night? He caught a cold because of the rain, and now he’s still unconscious in bed. But you, on the other hand, ran to sleep with Mason without a word. You are going too far!”
Shannon was shocked to hear that, “Is Mr. Yates sick?”
“Yes, Ms. Somers.” Uncle John came over and looked at her with a serious look.
Her mouth slightly parted, Shannon wanted to say something but finally swallowed down.
Uncle John said again, “Mr. Yates does not want you to leave. Yesterday he said to me, you give a lot of motherly love to Wesley and Nancy. And the two babies also need you. Maybe Mr. Yates said something bad to you, but he didn’t mean that. He just wanted you to be serious about your job.”
Uncle John paused, “Ms. Somers, on the contrary, you mix your private life and work together. Anyone who works here can’t be in a romance without permission. But you dated Mason several times. You have already broken the rule. I hope You will note that in the future. Of course, if you really love each other, no one will stop you. Just work hard when you are doing your job.”
Shannon was in a daze. Her hands tightened little by little.
It turned out that she misunderstood Ethan for matching her and Mason together. He was just trying to hint her to be serious at work.
But why did Coade do that? Why did he drive her to the home of Mason’s sister?
Did Coade match her and Mason on his own initiative?
“You can decide to leave or to stay by yourself. But if you want to leave, at least wait until Mr. Yates found a suitable babysitter.” Uncle John left the room when he finished.
Shannon sat in a daze for a long time in Wesley and Nancy’s bedroom. Looking at the sleeping babies, she felt very reluctant.
Sienna gave her a call, “Shannon, you must repay me five million dollars, or else Mom said she won't recognize you as her daughter anymore.”
Shannon felt fidgety, so she hung up the phone. However, she had to face the fact that she must pay Sienna’s debts.
She took a deep breath and went to the kitchen.
Shannon held a bowl of steaming ginger soup, standing outside the room of Ethan.
Seeing that, Coade stopped her from entering the room.
It was just then that Ken came over. He allowed Shannon to get in with him.
Coade had no choice but to see Shannon enter the bedroom.
Lying on the bed, Ethan frowned with a pale look. His eyes closed.
Shannon put the ginger soup aside and stood there, watching Ethan in a coma.
Ken sighed, “Mr. Yates’s throat is inflamed. He has been unable to take the medicine because of the coma. We need find a way to help him.”
The box of medicine and a glass of water were placed beside the ginger soup. Shannon broke a pill and put it on the spoon, and tried to feed Ethan. However, Ethan’s thin lips tightened. He had no reaction.
Ken put two pillows behind Ethan’s back and forced him to sit up. He whispered to Shannon, “Why don’t you feed him with your mouth? He won’t recover without taking his medicine.
Shannon blushed and hesitated, “I am afraid this is not appropriate.”
“What’s wrong with that? It’s not like you are kissing Mr. Yates. Think about those who did artificial respiration for the drowning people. Besides, Mr. Yates got sick because of you. So, you should be responsible for it.” Ken argued convincingly.
Shannon looked at the pill and did not say a word.
“Come on, there is a performance in a few days. I am worried he would not be able to sing with an inflamed throat.” Ken continued to urge Shannon.
“I’ll try it.” Shannon said in a low voice.
Ken, feeling satisfied left the bedroom.
