Chapter 5 You Perpetrator, Don't Run!

Rowena hurriedly got up. As soon as she went out, she saw Mia hugging Sebastian's thigh and crying in a heartfelt voice with her eyes closed.

"Ahwooh! It hurts!"

"Sorry, Mr. Laird." Rowena hurriedly apologized and immediately squatted down to gently hug Mia, "What's wrong with you? Let Mommy hug you, okay?"

Hearing this, a complicated emotion flashed in Sebastian's eyes, and he hid it in the bottom of his eyes.

Mia shook her head as she cried. Her delicate little face was full of tears, "Wuuah, Mommy, no hug..."

The little kid was still crying as she choked up and spoke, "This person hit me. It hurts so much. I must be bleeding... Wuuah! My hand hurts so much..."

"Good baby," Rowena was also anxious, "Let go of it first. Let Mommy see the wound and blow on it for you."

"No...Owww..."

Mia raised a small paw to wipe away her tears. Her long eyelashes were wet with crystal tears. She raised her head in grievance and tried hard to "glare" at Sebastian. She sobbed in a childish voice, "You are the perpetrator, you can not run away!"

"Baby..." Rowena revealed a look of worry and could not help but sigh in her heart.

If Sebastian did not leave for even a moment, he would be like a ticking time bomb.

Fortunately, there was only Mia, but what if Leo came out of the room later?

As long as they were allowed to meet, that little face that was simply a copy of Sebastian's face would absolutely not be able to escape the suspicion of this man.

Rowena suppressed the anxiety and worry in her eyes and glanced at the office. She did not know when the door had opened.

Two streams of tears still hung on Mia's face. Her face was as tender as milk pudding and she looked at Sebastian pitifully.

Seeing this little girl trying to hold back her pain to cry, Sebastian's heart seemed to be moved by something.

His cold face softened a little. He crouched down and looked directly into Mia's eyes, his cold voice softened, "I'm not leaving. You go with mommy to deal with the wound first."

"... Alright." Mia said reluctantly as she raised her watery eyes and replied, "Then you have to go with me! I'll need you to compensate me later!"

She looked like a fierce little tiger baring its fangs and brandishing its claws. Sebastian gently stroked her little head, "Okay."

The interaction between the two made Rowena feel complicated, but she immediately forgot about it. Rowena nervously carried Mia into the consulting room, put her on the small sofa, and anxiously took the first aid kit.

Mia stretched out both of her small hands. She only sustained a few scrapes, and there was no bleeding.

Letting out a sigh of relief, Rowena took out the alcohol cotton balls, "Do your hands still hurt?"

"Yes!" Mia pouted and wanted to cry again.

Rowena carefully wiped her and gently blew at the injured parts, "The injueries have flown away."

On the side, Sebastian quietly watched this warm scene.

For some reason, this woman always gave him a very familiar feeling.

But he could not remember where he had seen her before.

Sebastian's eyes darkened.

"Uncle," Mia, who had just gotten better, regained her true nature, "You and Leo look pretty alike."

Rowena's breathing became sluggish, and her strength on hands unconsciously became more intense.

"Mommy, it hurts." Mia turned around pitifully.

"You really don't learn your lesson," Rowena readjusted her feelings and said as she held out her index finger to tap Mia's forehead, "You can't run around again next time, do you remember?"

Mia said in a muffled voice, "Got it."

"Good girl."

After disinfecting her injuries, Rowena was putting the rest of the cotton balls into the first aid kit when she heard Sebastian suddenly ask, "Who is Leo?"

"My big brother!" Mia sat on the sofa, shaking her legs. She looked at Sebastian and tilted her head to think for a while, "Well... you doesn't look like him. Leo is much cuter than you, and he never hits me. Instead, he will help me up!"

Mia was just a little chatterbox. She forgot the pain after the injury was healed. She continued to talk to herself, "Leo is amazing. He is better at solving questions than me, eating more than me, learning piano faster than me... Hmm..."

She was calculating with her little fingers, "Right! Leo also likes to play with numbers!"

After listening to her nagging, the corners of Rowena's mouth curled into a gentle smile.

Although the two little kids were usually the most playful, they were surprisingly consistent in dealing with this kind of "external" problem.

"Alright." Rowena tore open the band-aid and pasted it on the spot where the skin was scraped.

"Thank you, Mommy!"

"You're welcome."

Rowena put away the medical kit and smiled apologetically at Sebastian, "I'm sorry to trouble you. Shall I send you out?"

The man's figure was tall and his back was straight. Just by standing here, he was like a tall and cold pine tree. He aura was so sharp that it gave people a sense of oppression.

He deliberately restrained his momentum and slowly looked at the fearless little girl on the sofa. His eyes unconsciously softened a lot. He asked, "Didn't you say compensation? What do you want?"

"About this..." Mia's big black grape-like eyes nimbly turned, and her two little legs swayed back and forth. She smiled slyly, "Give me your card first. When I decide, I'll go find you for compensation."

"Okay."

Sebastian responded very simply. He took out a gold-plated business card from his wallet with his well-defined hands.

If the secretary was here, he could definitely pass out on the spot in shock.

That was Mr. Laird’s private business card!

Last time when Mr. Leighton from the top real estate industry wanted it, Mr. Laird didn't agree and only asked him to contact the secretary directly.

But now, his tone was still so pleasant!

"Okay." With the card in hand, Mia was satisfied and waved her little hands, "Mommy, send this uncle away. Bye."

This movement made Rowena not know whether to laugh or cry.

As the two of them walked out, Rowena slowed down and turned her head to the side with a smile, "Mr. Laird, I'm really sorry for today. My child's personality is more jumpy. I hope you don't mind."

While talking, she glanced at the door of the office next to her. She seemed to see Leo sitting inside writing and drawing at the table.

He was probably doing sudoku, because he was addicted every time he did it.

Rowena relaxed finally, and the smile on her face became even more confident.

"It's fine." Sebastian's expression was still cold, his cold gaze sweeping past Rowena. His dark eyes sunk.

As soon as the elevator reached the entrance, Rowena stopped and smiled politely, "I'll just walk you here. The child is still young and she can't leave me."

"Yes."

Hearing this, Rowena relaxed. It was finally over!

She turned around and was about to go back when she was suddenly stopped.

"You... seem to be afraid of me?"

The man's voice was deep, making it impossible to tell the ups and downs of his emotions. His fierce words were mixed with a dark and unknown intention of probing.
