Chapter 27 Is Mr. Laird So Concerned About My Education?

Shortly after the two children left, Rowena returned to Sebastian's ward with the breakfast she had bought.

"Thank you," Sebastian nodded, took the roll, and had a bite of it, "Doctor Gale, where did you learn psychology?" He asked as if casually.

"Pennsylvania," Rowena was cleaning up the table for him. Her attention was not on him, so she answered casually.

"Excellent, it's an Ivy League school," Sebastian continued, "When did you graduate? I happen to have a friend who is your alumnus. Maybe he graduated in the same year as you."

"Last year."

Last year? Then it was five years ago when she was enrolled. Sebastian smiled unnoticeably, "I can tell from your manner that you seemed not being raised in Switzerland. You just went there to study, didn't you?

“What nonsense! I was just exiled abroad." She shouted in her head, and immediately became alert again with a darkened face. “Why did Sebastian ask so many questions? What did my past have to do with him?”

Then Rowena said, "Mr. Laird, why are you so concerned about my education background?"

"Nothing, just chatting." Seemed his last question alerted her. Sebastian made a note in his mind that Rowena must have something to hide regarding her reason for going to Switzerland.

Silence returned to the ward. Not long after, Rosalind arrived. She carried two large bags of fruits and placed them beside Sebastian’s bed. She smiled apologetically, "I'm sorry, Seb, I am late. I had wanted to bring you breakfast."

"It's alright. It's more important for you to have a good rest," Sebastian replied. Rosalind wore long sleeves and pants without showing any skin. She did not even reveal her neck. The collar almost covered her chin. Sebastian frowned and asked, "Did it get colder today?"

"Y... yes," Rosalind stammered. She was going to muddle through it, but after taking a glance at Rowena who was wearing an elegant skirt, she quickly added, "Actually, it is not very cold. However, the weather forecast said that the temperature would drop, so I dressed warmly to be prepared. After all, if I become sick, how can I take care of you?"

She nervously observed Sebastian's expression, but he seemed to have ignored her. He was carefully peeling an orange that she had brought in.

Rosalind relaxed a little bit and reached out to take the orange, "I'll peel it. You're a patient. You have to rest well."

"Ok." Sebastian responded without insisting. He turned to Rowena, who was busy at the bedside and said, "There is nothing else this morning. Doctor Gale, please go back first, and come back at noon."

It was exactly what Rowena wanted. After saying goodbye, she left. However, Rosalind quickly glanced at Rowena's figure. It seemed that there was an anxious emotion flowing in her body, but she could not open her mouth to stop her. She awkwardly turned around and continued to peel the orange. However, it was obvious that she had sped up.

After finishing peeling the orange and giving it to Sebastian, she said, "Sebastian, you eat first. I'm going to the toilet and will come back soon."

Sebastian had noticed her various abnormalities. Staring at Rosalind's back, a layer of haze slowly rose in his eyes.

There were a lot of illogical details about her before, but he didn't want to care about them. In the deepest part of his heart, he thought that Rosalind would be the woman who would live with him for the rest of his life and there was no need to care about those details.

However, ever since he met Rowena, this kind of anticipation tended to be overturned. He did not know why. He just felt the resistance from the bottom of his heart to that relationship that he had thought was firm. In fact, since the night five years ago, this kind of resistance had remained there quietly. Apart from that only night, there was little love between him and Rosalind.

Now that he thought about it carefully, there were too many suspicious things.

Rosalind was supposed to be in a state of ignorance. He only had sex with her once, but she was somehow a completely different woman from five years ago considering her passion for sex she had displayed now and then.

Although Rosalind always circled around him, when he took the initiative to find Rosalind, there would always be a long delay before receiving her response. Especially after 8 pm, as long as she was not at his home, he basically could not get in touch with her. She always said that she slept early, but when she was at his home, she had never slept so early and often accompanied him to work late at night.

He used to think that this was simply because Rosalind loved him and wanted to accompany him. But now that he thought about it, a person's biological clock didn't lie. How could a person who usually slept early at 8 pm not feel sleepy at midnight, and sometimes even kept flirting with him?

On the other side, Rosalind, who lied to Sebastian that she was going to the toilet, caught up with Rowena, grabbed her arm from behind, and called out "Sister!"

"What are you doing?" Rowena was pulled back slightly by Rosalind and almost lost her balance. She turned around with a dissatisfied expression.

"Well..." Rosalind obviously had not worked out what to say. She originally thought that Rowena would stay in the hospital for the entire day, but she did not expect that Sebastian would send her away so quickly, "Why don't we talk in the car? There are too many people here."

"Alright," Rowena looked at Rosalind, who had a bitter expression on her face. What had happened to her?

The two of them went downstairs by elevator. Rosalind led Rowena into the car and looked around to make sure that there were no suspicious people around, "Sis, did you receive the shares I transferred to you?" Rosalind asked.

"Yes, the electronic equity transfer agreement has arrived, but you haven't given me Gale Group's financial statements yet."

"Don't worry, I will definitely keep my promise to you," Rosalind gritted her teeth. The cost was already too much. She really did not want to give Rowena anything else. With the assistance of Gale Group's financial statements, the balance would tilt in favor of Rowena. Otherwise, Rosalind had enough confidence to take down Rowena further after Gale Group was completely turned into an empty shell puppet.

But... the thought of the Scarface who had appeared in her house without a trace last night sent a cold shiver down her spine. Now, to deal with that sucker, she had no choice but to bow to Rowena once again.

“So, what do you want this time?” Rowena's voice carried a hint of mockery. “Don’t take others for fools. If our little arrangement gets exposed, the first one to die will be you.”

"I know. I will be more careful." Rosalind echoed apparently, but deep down, she was extremely scornful. She wondered where Rowena got so much confidence from. In any case, she had the MY Group to support her. She had a trump card, but Rowena only relied on some of Gale Group's shares. Why did she always look like she was not afraid of anything? "Sis, I want to ask you for a favor today."

"Uh?" Rowena waited for her to continue.
