Chapter 41 She Was in Danger?

"I still want to advise Dr. Hale not to get carried away." Sebastian said coldly, "Miss Gale does not harbor the feelings you think she does. If it's unrequited love, the pain that follows will be something Dr. Hale has to bear alone."

"Thank you for your concern," Jameson replied, genuinely baffled by why this man felt the need to meddle in his and Rowena's affairs. "Ignorance is no excuse; you don't know me or Rowena, so it's understandable you might have such misconceptions. However, you might want to tone down your excessive interest in Rowena. Otherwise, I will seriously suspect that you have ulterior motives towards her.”

Jameson didn't beat around the bush and directly stated his most straightforward concern. For a moment, Sebastian was at a loss for words.

Ever since he saw Rowena with Jameson today, he couldn't shake off the growing dislike he felt for Jameson. Yet, with Rosalind by his side, he was determined to let her lower her guard. He planned to play his role perfectly, ensuring that nothing seemed out of place.

But did he truly have special feelings towards Rowena?

Rowena was different to him. At least in his subconscious, she had become essential since the day she appeared. From the ambiguous dream to the repeated rescue, he had a natural reaction that had nothing to do with reason. It was pure, realistic, and unstoppable. It made him addicted and sometimes made him hate himself for losing control.

There should be feelings, but how much was there?

Sebastian himself was not clear. He had always thought he should not have too much passion for this woman he had met. Who was he? He was a God-favored man. How could a random woman be able to make him fall into a trance?

However, it seemed that reason was useless when he thought about Rowena.

Lost in thought, he suddenly heard the tour guide's voice ringing out: "All gentlemen, get ready! You can start searching for your partners! Of course, if you have any spare energy, feel free to 'kindly' help your teammates find theirs too!"

Sebastian turned around and walked out of the cabin, but Jameson just sat there without moving.

"Are you going to give up?" Sebastian took two steps and found Jameson made no movement behind. He turned back in confusion and looked at Jameson.

"Mr. Laird, I have no interest in finding your girlfriend. It's enough for me to find Rowena." Jameson spoke, still not moving.

"Boring." Sebastian frowned, ignoring him as he headed outside.

When most of the people in the cabin had left, Jameson slowly stood up, walked around the edge of the cabin, and asked tentatively, "Rowena, are you there?"

No one answered him.

"Rowena? Hurry up and come out. You'll get seasick if you hide there. You'd better sit down." Jameson continued to shout.

He did not go out to search because he was sure that Rowena would not leave the cabin. He knew her experience in the Tiger Head Rock and understood what the sea meant to her. In any case, as long as she was far away from the sea, she would not be even a step closer.

But this time...Why did she sign up for this tour group and even ask him to pretend to be a couple?

Rowena's joke seemed to sound in Jameson's ears again.

"My target this time is Sebastian."

What exactly did it mean? Why was Sebastian? What happened between them?

The feeling of losing control in the morning once again appeared. Jameson suddenly felt very panicked.

"Rowena! Come out!" He raised his voice, and his footsteps were not as steady as before. Although he stepped on the flat wooden floor, his steps were messy and rushed, "Don't hide. I have something urgent to talk about with you!"

Still, no one answered. The cabin was big. The gradually appeared echoes seemed to laugh at him.

On the other side, Sebastian was looking around the deck. But there was no trace of Rowena or Rosalind.

The people around them found their partners. They recalled the thrilling hiding experience. Some women blamed their boyfriends for not coming early. It was noisy.

That shouldn't be the case. Regardless of Rowena, Rosalind could not run too far as she wore inconvenient clothes. However, he searched almost all the places she could hide but found nothing.

How was that possible?

At this moment, a woman's voice broke into his ears.

"Two women just now, they were really something. Looked like they were trying to hide on the ship's side rail. One didn’t seem too willing, but the other kept pushing her over. Who’s gonna find them there, huh?"

Two women, hiding by the ship’s side rail?

Sebastian’s heart sank. If the two women she was talking about were Rowena and Rosalind, then things weren’t looking good. Judging by how Rowena looked earlier, she was clearly not feeling well—most likely seasick. There was no way she’d willingly go to a place like that.

Which meant it had to be Rosalind forcing her over there.

Damn it... That woman, Rosalind. What the hell was she up to?

He didn't have time to consider too much and quickly ran towards the side fence of the ship. On the way, he happened to bump into Jameson. He came from the cabin.

"What are you going to do?" Seeing Sebastian's flustered appearance, Jameson also became nervous. Could it be that something had happened?

"I'm not sure." Sebastian did not have the time to answer him. He just kept running. His brain had stopped working. Only his body moved. His legs alternated. He moved faster and faster as if he no longer felt tired. He just mechanically repeated the same action.

Faster, faster.

Finally, he ran to the side of the fence and bent down half of his body like a madman, as if he wanted to fall into the sea.

On the ship’s railing, there wasn’t the expected sight of two people. Instead, there was only one figure, slumped and barely conscious. The person’s eyes were tightly shut, and if it weren’t for the trembling that shook their entire body, it would’ve been hard to tell they were even alive.

Yet, Sebastian suddenly felt a wave of relief crash over him, as if a heavy weight had been lifted from his chest. His knees buckled, and he collapsed backward, completely drained.

When Jameson rushed up and saw Sebastian in that state, panic surged through him. He practically flew forward, covering the distance in just a few strides. As he fixed his gaze on the lone figure—
