By the time Rowena woke up again, it was already noon the next day.
Although there was a sudden incident yesterday, the tour group was as usual. They could not hinder the schedule of other tourists because of this accident. Otherwise, the tour company would suffer a loss.
The ship had already docked on a small island. Because there was no place to rest on the island, Rowena was arranged to rest in the cabin on the ship.
Jameson left to bring lunch for her. Before he left, he repeatedly told her not to move, but she could not bear it and wanted to go down to know the situation.
Jameson did not mention anything about yesterday, no matter how much Rowena pressed him for answers.
Did Sebastian save Rosalind finally? How were the two of them? Yesterday, when she was lying on the deck, she said "I killed someone" to Sebastian. She did not understand what his expression meant. But his actions explained it perfectly.
Rowena knew what she might face, yet she felt an undeniable urge to find out.
Even if sknowing the outcome meant she would lose hope, she thought it should be a complete loss, shouldn’t it?
She held onto the bed to sit up and took a few deep breaths. Yesterday's experience had injured her vitality, and she still had not recovered until now.
She tried to stand up, her legs shaking like a sieve. After standing for a while, she stepped forward.
Sebastian's position was not hard to find. The cruise ship only had three fixed resting cabins arranged in lines. Rowena left her room and casually pushed open the cabin door next to her. She was lucky to see Sebastian sitting inside, reading a magazine.
Hearing the sound, Sebastian turned to look at her. The next second, he immediately shifted his gaze.
Was there any need for he to act so obvious?
Rowena laughed bitterly in her heart. She did not retreat. Instead, she continued to take a few steps into the house, "Thank you for what you did yesterday."
"You have been thanking me recently." Sebastian still did not look at her, his mouth curved into a mocking smile, "Why do you always thank me with your words, but your actions are getting more and more excessive each time?"
"Sorry." Rowena said in a low voice, knowing that she was wrong, "I didn't push her on purpose."
When she was playing the game yesterday, Rowena only wanted to hide in the cabin, but the tour guide caught her and said she was cheating if she hid inside.
She had barely stepped out when she ran into Rosalind. Rosalind said she wanted to take her to a safer space. Rowena thought that since they still had a collaboration, Rosalind wouldn't harbor any ill intentions at that moment, so she didn't refuse.
However, Rosalind dragged her directly to the edge of the ship. Rowena, already unsteady from seasickness, felt Rosalind pull her toward the railing. She knew Rosalind wouldn’t harm her; at most, she just wanted to scare her or embarrass her. But as she found herself standing so close to the edge of the sea, she had lost all rationality. She didn’t even remember how she had pushed Rosalind over.
"Not on purpose? What a convenient excuse," Sebastian scoffed. "Rowena, if I could, I would love to see how you explain to the police that it wasn’t intentional!"
Was she stupid? At that time, there were so many people on the cruise ship. No matter how deep the hatred between her and Rosalind was, they should not have pushed each other into the sea.
"I know. No matter how I explain it, it is useless." Rowena took a deep breath. Sebastian did not know about her past. Even if he knew, it would be difficult to understand her fear.
“Rowena, I thought that as a CEO, you’d have at least a bit of sense. Before Mason, you could stand firm in your principles, but now you’re just casually thinking about killing someone?” Sebastian’s words were heavy, his gaze slicing through her like a knife. “If anything were to happen to Rosalind, you’d be the one left holding the bag.”
His tone was nothing short of vicious.
Rowena's weak body was now even more nerveless. Every word of Sebastian was stimulating her nerves. She did not expect that she would trust and even rely on Sebastian subconsciously. She did not get his consent but secretly thought that he should be on her side.
Now, she was tired.
"So now, would you call the police to arrest me?" Rowena asked, but her lips almost did not move, and her gaze fell to the wooden floor in front of her.
"Are you angry?" Sebastian said angrily, "I truly let you down. I should have called the police to take you away at that time."
Luckily, he tried his best to save Rosalind. If Rosalind drowned just like that, she would undoubtedly be the only suspect because only they were together at that moment.
No matter how capable her brother was, how could he compete with America's law? Killing people? How daring she was!
"Sorry." Rowena's eyes were lifeless. She continued to apologize. But she did not know why she should apologize.
Sebastian wanted to lash out, but seeing her so weak made him hold back his anger. He coldly snapped, "Get out of here."
Rowena did not say anything else. She turned around, held the door frame, and walked out step by step.
Had she been overly sentimental?
When did she start to developing feelings for Sebastian? She couldn’t pinpoint it—maybe it was when he shielded her from that heavy ceramic vase, or perhaps it had been long before that. She understood that she shouldn’t feel this way, so she kept trying to suppress it.
However, after knowing about the matter between Rosalind and Mason, she thought that although it seemed lowly and pathetic, she could get close to Sebastian.
However, now it seemed that what she said to Ryan was right. Sebastian had feelings for Rosalind. No matter how unbearable Rosalind was, this love was enough for Sebastian to risk his life for Rosalind.
She also did not understand why Sebastian still did not stop treating Rosalind well while Rosalind breached his principles like this.
However, it didn't seem to be that difficult to explain. To Sebastian, he had just met her a few times. Wasn't it even more unreasonable for Sebastian to save her time and time again?
How could she question his behaviors?
It was not until she returned to the bed and wrapped her whole body with a quilt that Rowena felt slightly at ease. Not long after, that dizzy feeling appeared again. She fell into a deep sleep.
