Rowena did not sleep well this time. In her dream, she was handcuffed by Sebastian and escorted into the police car. Rosalind smiled and said to her, "Sis, I didn't do anything this time. You deserve all of these."
She wanted to open her mouth and curse. But her lips did not seem to belong to her. She could not move at all.
Rosalind was still talking. her voice louder and sharper, until she suddenly grabbed Rowena by the collar and yanked her up—
Rowena jolted awake, and the image of Rosalind shifted from a dreamlike illusion to a stark reality right in front of her.
Rosalind’s expression was almost grotesque as her grip tightened, and Rowena felt her collar constricting around her neck, making it nearly impossible to breathe.
"How dare you push me into the water... Rowena, how dare you! I will make you die without a burial place!"
Rowena was strangled by her and could not say a word. She tried to struggle free with her weak hands and feet, but she could not stop Rosalind, who gathered all the force in her hands.
When Rowena was about to faint, a man's voice came from outside the door.
"Rosalind, what are you doing?" As soon as Jameson entered, he saw the scene in front of him. He no longer cared about the lunch box in his hand. The box fell to the ground. He directly rushed forward and pulled away the crazy Rosalind, "Rosalind, do you want to kill her?"
"It was Rowena who wanted to kill first!" Rosalind roared, completely shedding her usual demure image. Her adorable bob hairstyle contrasted sharply with her wide, bloodshot eyes, giving her a terrifying look, "She pushed me into the sea! Sir, if you have any sense, take a good look at what kind of person is sitting in front of you! One day, she’ll harm you, and you won’t even know!"
"Rosalind, you are truly biting back." Jameson pulled Rowena behind him and looked into Rosalind's eyes. His voice was suppressing his anger, "You know exactly what you have done to Rowena. Not to mention that she didn't want to harm you. Even if she did kill you, you'd deserve it!"
"Who are you?" Rosalind regained her rationality. Where did this man come? Why did he seem to know everything about her? "Don’t just repeat hearsay; it’s all just Rowena’s side of the story. I know exactly what kind of heart she has. I am..."
"Yes, no one knows Rowena better than you because you are her sister." Jameson sneered. This woman was trying to turn the tables. Did she want to provoke him and Rowena? Wasn't she overestimating her abilities? "Rosalind, when you found out that Rowena had returned, weren’t you scared? She’s the one you and your Gale family threw into the sea, yet here she is, alive and well in front of you"
"Y-You can’t just say whatever you want!"
Jameson's words struck home for Rosalind. Indeed, when she first heard the news that Rowena was alive, it felt like she had seen a ghost. Surviving in the vast ocean was nearly impossible, especially considering she had poisoned Rowena's drink as an added precaution to ensure she’d disappear without a trace.
At that moment, a horrifying thought had crossed her mind—Rowena was back to collect her due.
Now that this thought had nearly become a reality—Rowena had pushed her into the sea—she felt a deeper sense of fear rather than just anger. That fear drove her to madness, making her wish to eliminate Rowena as soon as possible. She sensed that if she didn’t take care of Rowena quickly, it was her life that was on the line.
"What you did to Rowena, don’t think that just because five years have passed, no one remembers,” Jameson continued as Rosalind was stammering and unable to speak,, “Everything you’ve done will come back to you with the punishment you deserve, Rosalind. There’s no rush. Thankfully, you didn’t die this time. You can live well, and we’ll make sure you have plenty of fun.”
Jameson became unexpectedly gloomy. Rowena could only see his back, but she felt the bloodthirsty aura she had never seen before.
Jameson even had this side.
"Who are you?" Rosalind had to retreat again and again until she reached the wall, unable to escape.
"What do you think?" Jameson laughed coldly and said, "But you shouldn't remember. Rosalind, you are a ruthless woman. How many people have you harmed? How can you remember?"
"Jameson..." Rowena suddenly realized that he might not be the simple person she had always thought him to be. He had kept so much hidden from her, never truly opening up.
At that moment, Rosalind felt as if she were being watched by a devil.
She leaned against the wall nervously and subconsciously searched her pocket. She touched something hard and quickly took it out.
Anyway, she was on the right side today. It was Rowena who pushed her into the sea. As long as she called the police, it would be foolproof.
"What are you two showing off?" Rosalind calmed down and pressed a number, "I don't care what nonsense you were talking about just now. I won't listen. You have no evidence, and the police won't believe it. They will likely think those are excuses to absolve you of your crimes. Tell me, if I call the police now, what crime will the police convict Rowena?"
"Then don't blame us for going all out." Jameson said through gritted teeth.
"Is that so? Then wait and see!" As she spoke, Rosalind had already pressed the dial button.
"Rosa, why are you here?" Sebastian suddenly appeared and ran to Rosalind's side. He naturally took her phone away, "Right now, the first thing you need is take a rest first."
"Sebastian..." Rosalind was no longer as fierce as before. She immediately lowered her voice. She felt wronged and snuggled up to Sebastian , "Rowena, she wants to kill me. She pushed me into the water."
In the past, Rosalind had only seen Sebastian as a means to an end, never feeling anything genuine for him. But ever since he had pulled her from the depths of the sea, she had truly fallen for him.
Even in her hazy state of mind, she remembered his embrace—so strong and reassuring. He had lifted her from the water until she could breathe the fresh air again.
