Chapter 46 Signs Beginning to Happen.

After entering university, when Jameson first heard about an upperclassman named Rowena, he did not hesitate to get close to her. At the time, he admitted his intentions weren't pure. He believed Rowena was part of the Gale Family, and he sought an opportunity to take revenge.

However, as they spent more time together, he realized that Rowena was nothing like the rest of the Gale family. It wasn’t until much later that he discovered the truth—Rowena had been abandoned by the Gale family.

He took a long time to know Rowena. During that time, he had always harbored evil intentions. Rowena was intelligent. How could she not tell?

"I admit," Jameson laughed bitterly, "because your surname was also Gale, I had a deep hostility and prejudice against you. There were even a few times when I thought of taking revenge. But Rowena, after truly getting to know you, I feel guilty."

"So that's why you've stayed by my side for all these years? Because you feel sorry for me?" Rowena's tone was calm, her face showing no sign of emotion. "I should really thank that misunderstanding then, for giving me such a good friend like you."

"I am also happy to have such a good uncle like Uncle Jameson." Mia waved her two milky-white little “paws”, "Although we haven’t had a dad so far, with Uncle Jameson, we have never been bullied by bad guys."

“So far? This little girl meant that there would be one in the future, but not him?”

Jameson felt a sharp pang in his chest. In that moment, he wanted to tear down all the walls, to reveal his true feelings and desires.

“What if I became your dad? Wouldn’t that be good?”

The words slipped out almost without thinking. He’d wanted to ask this question for so long, but never imagined it would happen in a situation like this.

"Ah?" Mia was also confused by Jameson's question. She knew that Uncle Jameson was very good. She also told Leo that she wanted Uncle Jameson to be her father. However, when Jameson asked this question seriously, she didn't know how to answer.

Mia took a few small steps back and pulled Leo's arm, "Uncle Jameson said that he wanted to be our dad...You come up with an idea. Should we agree to him?"

"Haha..." Jameson laughed."Mia, don't be nervous. Uncle is joking."

As expected, he was still too weak. He was a grown man. But facing emotional problems, he was like a little animal afraid of getting hurt. Confronted with negative possibilities, he would pretend to be indifferent and hide his emotions.

Perhaps it was also why he had not revealed his thoughts to Rowena for so many years.

"Ah, that's good." Mia did not notice Jameson's difference. She patted her chest, "But it's fine. Uncle Jameson, don't worry. Even if we have a father in the future, we will never forget you. We will always be the closest to each other."

"Sure." Jameson touched Mia's head and smiled like sunshine, "Uncle Jameson will always protect you and be with you.”

On the other side, as soon as Rosalind entered the room, she began to act coquettishly toward Sebastian.

“Sebastian, you have to stand up for me this time! It was Rowena who pushed me into the water herself!”

“Why did you both go to such a remote spot? Was it Rowena who took you there?” Sebastian asked gently, his tone calm and measured.

“Yes, it was her! She tricked me into going over there, and then she attacked me.” Rosalind pouted. “That woman may seem harmless on the surface, but deep down, she’s truly as vicious as a snake. Sebastian, it’s a good thing she didn’t harm you during the days she was taking care of you. Just thinking about it now terrifies me. We should report this to the police immediately, before she destroys the evidence and walks away unpunished.”

"If she truly did this, it would be impossible to destroy the evidence," Sebastian gestured for her to sit down and comforted her, "Rosa, since she pulled you over and forced you to jump onto the fence outside the ship, there must be witnesses. Quite a few witnesses. So what if she has extraordinary abilities?"

"Yes... ah." Rosalind did not speak smoothly. She did not expect that her exaggerated and fabricated description would be remembered so clearly by Sebastian. When the police came and investigated the witnesses, they would know she was the one who dragged Rowena outside. At that time, Sebastian would be suspicious of her.

"Have fun these few days. I won't give Rowena a chance to get close to you." Sebastian smiled, "After the trip is over, we will call the police. I will tell the police everything Rowena has done to you in detail. I will ask all the passengers on the ship to cooperate with the investigation. Heaven's vengeance is slow but sure. If she deserves it, she will surely be punished."

If not for Sebastian's expression had always been very gentle, these words didn't seem like comfort but more like a threat, causing Rosalind to break out in cold sweat.

"Sebastian... I thought about it. There is no need to investigate so carefully. After all, the truth is right here. It was Rowena who pushed me into the water. It is not good to waste so many passengers' time on investigation." Rosalind's voice became less and less confident as she lowered her voice.

"Alright, since my Rosa is unwilling, let's just forget about it." Sebastian's eyes were deep, making it hard to see the emotions in them, "You rest first. I still have something to deal with at my company. I'll come back later to accompany you."

"Alright."

When he left the door, Sebastian's expression was no longer as gentle as before.

It was his first time pretending it in front of Rosalind, but he was like a veteran who had experienced hundreds of battles. He knew what expressions and words he should use.

Speaking of which, strictly speaking, he might have been acting all along.

Sebastian laughed at himself. His acting skills were impressive. Not only did he deceive others, but he even deceived himself.

He had overheard most of the conversation in Rowena's room. He had long suspected that Rowena and Rosalind were related, but he hadn’t expected them to be full-blooded sisters. The similarities between them—same build, similar faces, and at times, almost identical voices—were too strong to ignore.

Then, there was that crucial point in time—five years ago—when everything became intertwined.

A theory quickly took shape in Sebastian's mind. He pulled out his phone and dialed a number.

“Put a temporary halt to the MY investigation. Redirect all resources to look into a specific date for me.”

“January 13th, five years ago.”
