Chapter 49 Torn Apart

Jameson did not restrain the strength in his hands at all. He made Rowena hurt.

"What are you doing? Jameson." Rowena felt her irritation rising; his behavior seemed completely irrational to her..

"I am clear-headed. Rowena, I have known you for five years. I have never been more clear-headed than I am now." Jameson kept smiling. He grabbed Rowena's wrist and suddenly knelt on one knee.

The rocky ground was uneven, but he did not seem to know. There was no buffer at all. Rowena even heard his knee bone colliding with the stone.

"What are you doing!" Rowena hurriedly tried to pull him up. What did he think he was, the Iron Man?

But her strength was far from being able to contend against Jameson.

Jameson did not move. He stabilized his body and raised his head. The haze and bottomless fog in his eyes suddenly disappeared. Instead, they were clean and pure without a trace of impurity.

He slowly opened his mouth and spoke on the battered Rainbow Stones. Under the gazes of countless people and the astonishment of Rowena, he slowly opened his mouth.

"Rowena, I love you." Releasing everything he had in his heart and expressing all of his feelings, "Marry me, will you?"

There was no dodging or hesitation in his eyes. They were all determined. That's right, that was it. He had always had a reason, capital, and the confidence to do so.

Rowena found herself unable to say a word, caught in his grasp.

Her mind had completely stalled, buzzing with confusion and unable to process anything. Memories from the past began to play in reverse, scenes that she had always interpreted as mere friendship now took on new significance. Those moments she dismissed as playful banter—now, they weighed heavily upon her heart. What had once felt light and effortless transformed into a slow, burdening rhythm.

She didn’t know how to articulate her feelings. What Jameson had just said had never crossed her mind. It was as if he had introduced her to an entirely new subject, one she had to learn from scratch. How was she supposed to respond? What was she meant to do? The truth was, she felt completely lost, with no idea where to start.

"Jameson." She tried again and again. Finally, she said, "I think both of us need to calm down."

So weak and powerless.

Jameson, on the other hand, seemed to have heard nothing. He suddenly stood up and held the back of Rowena's head with one hand. He pushed her down.

"Ah!"

Before she was ready, Rowena's body directly came into contact with the uneven stones. A heart-wrenching pain surged from every part of her body. Then, Jameson's weight pressed down, deepening the already intense pain.

"Calm down?" He leaned into her ear and said slowly, "Wait for you to reject me after you calm down? Why?"

"Get up..." Rowena struggled under Jameson's body. It was too painful. She had no time to understand the despair and stubbornness in Jameson's voice, "I'm in pain. Get up quickly..."

"Rowena, you are mine. From five years ago, I was the only one by your side." Jameson said as if he couldn't hear what Rowena said, "You can't have any other men. I will protect you and the two children. No one will do better than me."

"Uncle Jameson, let go of mom!" The two children were shocked. And then they reacted and rushed forward to pull Jameson, "You will hurt Mom!"

"Leo, Mia, what are you saying? When have I ever hurt Rowena?" Jameson looked up with a hint of confusion in his eyes, "I've been protecting you all the time, haven't I?"

Mia was so anxious that tears came out of her eyes. No matter how hard she tried, it was useless. She looked around helplessly and saw Sebastian, who had just appeared in her eyesight.

"Uncle! Uncle!" She suddenly shouted and forgot all the unhappiness from yesterday, "Come and help Mom. Uncle Jameson bullied Mom! Uncle Daddy!"

Uncle Daddy?

This illogical shout pierced deeply into Jameson's heart. What? He was refused by this girl before he was rejected by Rowena?

Why? Why?

"Shut up!"

His tone in this sentence was very fierce, gnashing his teeth.

Mia was so scared that she stood still. Jameson had never yelled at her like that before.

Jameson still wanted to say something. But his body was pulled up by a great force. Then, thrown over the shoulder, his body fiercely fell to the ground again, and all the bones in his body almost fell apart.

Rowena felt her body lighten, and then she was carried up.

Looking livid with rage, Sebastian instructed Mia and Leo, "Miss tour guide, please take care of these two children."

Then, without saying anything else, he carried Rowena and left.

Jameson just lay there without struggling. The people around were talking and pointing, but no one came forward to help him up.

He should have been used to it by now; it had always been this way. He would always be the one to be abandoned. In the past, he thought that Rowena would never treat him like this. She was his girl and would always be his. But why, how did it develop to this extent?
