Chapter 5 What Do You Mean

She was back.

And without doing anything, she proved that Logan still loved her.

I felt horrible!

I told myself not to look, that I should just turn and walk away, but I couldn't.

My eyes were fixed on them. I watched them embrace, then pull apart.

Logan looked at her with such love, then apparently couldn't help but cup her face in his hands.

He didn't kiss her, just put his forehead against hers.

He looked so peaceful, like someone who'd finally found their way home after being lost for many years.

"I've missed you so much," I read on his lips when they moved.

I didn't want to imagine what might have happened if they'd met under different circumstances.

If we were still married, would he have cheated on me?

No, he wouldn't have.

My heart kept telling me Logan wasn't that kind of person, but this scene in front of me made me doubt everything.

After all, this was Rachel, the woman he'd loved for nine long years.

I bet he'd go through hell itself for her without hesitation.

Finally, his kiss landed on her forehead.

I couldn't take it anymore. I got up and ran out.

The tears started coming again as soon as the cold air hit me. It hurt like hell, and I had no clue how to make it stop. But who could I blame? I was the one who fell for a man who loved someone else.

"Please, make this pain stop. Make it all go away," I begged, not caring which god might hear my prayers.

But there was no answer, no relief.

I clutched my chest. It felt tight, and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get enough air into my lungs. I felt like I was slowly dying, fading away.

"That's what happens when you go after someone else's man," a mocking voice cut through the air.

"What do you want, Benjamin? If you're here to mock me or warn me to stay away from your beloved sister, you can leave now. I don't want to hear it." I wiped my tears and pulled myself together.

I didn't want anyone to see me fall apart.

Benjamin was shocked again. Two comebacks in one day—that would've been unimaginable before.

"I'm telling you all this so you understand. Logan has always belonged to Rachel. They were forced apart because of you, but now they're back together. I hope you're smart enough to stay out of their way," he fired back.

What a righteous big brother!

Rachel had just got back, and he was already rushing to clear her path.

I let out a bitter laugh. "Don't worry, I don't need your warning. I won't get in anyone's way anymore. If luck's on my side, I will never have to see any of you again."

Benjamin frowned and said, "What do you mean?"
