Chapter 19

Marcus clicked his tongue flippantly and said, “The stuff is under my laptop in my dorm. As for backups, Ms. Anderson, you don’t need to worry. Those cameras were cheap ones Tyler bought. The content can’t be exported or saved. In other words, once you get the memory cards, it’s all over.”

He took a step closer with a sly grin, his voice turning somewhat sinister. “If you’re willing to try it out, I could even format the computer right in front of you.”

I instinctively stepped back, and once I reached a safe distance, I pulled out my phone from my pocket and called over, “Did you find it?”

Tyler’s voice came through the speaker, clearly full of excitement. “It’s really under the laptop!”

Noticing my actions, Marcus’s expression immediately darkened. Luckily, there were quite a few people passing by, so he couldn’t do anything. He could only lower his voice and ask angrily, “Who are you talking to?!”

I waved my phone nonchalantly. “Tyler, of course.”

From the other end, the sound of keyboard tapping came through as Tyler grumbled, “This guy’s disgusting. Making me pay was one thing, but then he complained about me buying cheap stuff… Ms. Mitchell, I’ve formatted it for you. We had a deal, right? Please don’t expose this! I swear I’m not an accomplice!”

Honestly, for someone without much sense, he’s still worried about clearing his name at a time like this.

I chuckled helplessly and hung up the phone.

Tyler, that simple-minded tall guy, had been hovering around me ever since the incident, constantly trying to clear himself of suspicion.
