Chapter 9

She even made a show of dusting off the assistant, who kept her head down, not daring to look at me or speak.

"Director, I'm feeling better now. We can continue filming."

I was wearing a badge that said 'Business Director'.

"Mm-hmm."

She's still the same - one face in public, another in private. Vain and hypocritical.

Back in high school, she acted super close with a few girls on the surface, but privately cursed them as privileged airheads, never truly considering them friends.

If she was like this as an ordinary student, it's no surprise she's worse now with her elevated status, fans' adoration, and people sucking up to her.

They returned after finishing their task, and the other group of guests had already prepared dinner.

During the meal, Lily focused all her attention on Ethan, constantly adding food to his plate and pouring him water, being overly attentive. It was making my skin crawl.

Thankfully, Ethan ignored her efforts, keeping a straight face the whole time. He didn't even touch the food Lily put on his plate.

The other guests teased Lily about her behavior.

"Lily, why are you being so attentive to Evan? Don't play favorites - put some food on my plate too!"

"I want to eat food that Lily serves me too~"

"Haha, look, she's blushing."

"You're so cute like this, Evan. If you're not falling for her, I might!"

"Stop it, you guys! Lily's shy, you're embarrassing her."

"Aww, how sweet!"

The comments section was going crazy too, turning this countryside lifestyle reality show into a dating show.

It's not just the online fans who are blind - the guests are talking nonsense too. How can they ship this when Ethan looks like he's constipated?

Unbelievable.

After dinner, Ethan went back to his rundown cabin.

Since he's not a celebrity, the show didn't install cameras in his living space, so I felt safe going to find him.

But someone beat me to it.
