The person beside me was still fast asleep. I quietly slipped out of bed and walked to the window.
The moment I pulled the curtains open, I saw two figures in the window across from mine.
Christopher was pressing Jasmine against the balcony railing from behind. He whispered something in her ear that made her turn back, and the two of them kissed passionately, oblivious to the world around them.
I had the sudden urge to grab a pair of binoculars so I could get a clearer look at their disgusting faces. Better yet, I wanted to record it.
How shameless.
I gripped the curtains, ready to yank them closed.
Suddenly, a warm body pressed up against mine from behind. At some point, Asher had gotten out of bed and was now standing behind me, wrapping himself tightly around me. He rested his chin on my shoulder, his lips trailing soft kisses along my neck.
He grabbed my hand and whispered, “Grace, don’t close them. No one’s around this early.”
“There’s someone across the way,” I reminded him.
Asher glanced over briefly. From this distance, it was impossible to make out their faces, so he didn’t recognize who they were.
But he didn’t stop. His hands grew bolder as they roamed over me.
“Doesn’t that make it even more exciting?”
I smirked lightly and turned my head to kiss him.
If he knew that the woman my husband was pinning down across the street was his own sister, it would probably be even more thrilling.
And if Christopher knew I was cheating on him right across from where he stood, I wonder how he’d feel.
Afterward, I saw Asher off.
He was still brimming with excitement.
“Grace, I just want to shout to the world that you agreed to be with me.”
“No,” I refused firmly. “You need to keep our relationship a secret.”
Asher’s expression fell, and he looked at me, puzzled. “Why?”
“There’s a big age gap between us. It would stir up a lot of gossip, and that wouldn’t be good for you. Besides, you’re about to graduate, and your focus should be on your final project.”
