Chapter 13

True to form, Felix didn't think twice before spilling the beans. Apparently, he fell for Nina the day she slapped me, saying she'd "teach me a lesson" for him.

Felix had been a notorious bully in school, even diagnosed with hyperaggression syndrome.

He'd mellowed out as an adult, or so it seemed.

Nina had always maintained this elegant, refined image in public. But when she suddenly snapped and started slapping people, something clicked for Felix.

He saw himself in her - like they shared the same aggressive tendencies.

‘A perfect match made in hell.’ I nodded and asked Felix, "Does Victoria know about you two?"

Felix answered without hesitation, "Of course not!"

I just smiled, picked up my phone from the table, and walked away.

Not long after I sent the photos and recordings to Victoria, she divorced Felix.

Word was that it got really ugly between the three of them.

Victoria accused Nina of being an ungrateful homewrecker who forgot who helped her climb the ladder.

Nina fired back with snarky comments about Victoria's fake kindness, pointing out how Victoria just stood by and did nothing when she was in jail.

When Victoria accused Felix of cheating, he exploded, "You're one to talk - what about all those gloves and shirts you were giving to others? When you're nice to Charlie it's 'employee care,' but when I'm with Nina it's 'cheating'?"

Victoria went quiet after that, feeling betrayed by Felix, seeing him as selfish, stubborn, and heartless.

Someone saw Victoria sitting outside the City Hall for hours after getting her divorce papers, muttering to herself, "So the young man I once knew is really dead after all."

After Felix and Nina got married, they didn't want any baggage and quickly gave up custody of his kid.

Sunrise Company went completely bankrupt, and all of Felix and Victoria's assets were auctioned off to pay debts.

Victoria, now a single mom, looked worn down and nothing like her former composed self.

By then, I'd become the sales director at UniPrime. While visiting a sick colleague at the hospital, I ran into Victoria.

She was alone with her baby, rushing between different hospital windows.

When our eyes met, I casually greeted her, "Victoria, bringing your kid to the hospital?"

She paused before nodding.
