His car was clearly the latest model, even the seatbelt was more complicated than usual.

As I fumbled with the seatbelt, a warning beep sounded. Luke chuckled softly and leaned over to help me.

He was so close I could smell the faint trace of alcohol and his woody cologne.

Feeling awkward, I held my breath until he moved back, then gripped the seatbelt and stared out the window.
