Chapter 2

Honestly, I didn't think much of it. We were just strangers in a foreign country. Even if things got a little awkward, it wouldn't affect our lives back home.

But little did I know, from that moment on, I was stepping into an abyss I could never escape!

At the beach, I took off my cover-up and changed into my bikini.

I thought I was being bold, but when Katie Parker came out from behind the rocks, I realized she was on another level entirely.

Katie's white bikini was held together by thin strings, with tiny patches of fabric barely covering the essentials. It was a thong style, leaving almost nothing to the imagination.

"Is that... even a swimsuit?" My husband's jaw dropped.

Katie wasn't shy at all. She turned to face us, standing with her legs apart and hands on her hips. "So, what do you think? Sexy, right?"

"Yeah, it looks great," I said.

Maybe after last night's "competition", something inside me started to stir. I actually regretted not bringing a sexier swimsuit – Katie was stealing all the attention.

That's when I noticed a red butterfly tattoo on Katie's lower belly.

She saw me looking and pulled her bikini bottom down a bit. "Like it? Michael drew it for me."

I was surprised that tough-looking Michael Anderson could do such delicate work.

"He brought his henna kit. I'll have him do one for you too!" Katie got excited and pulled me down onto a beach towel.

I half-heartedly protested, "Won't that be too much trouble?"

"Not at all, it'll be quick," Katie smirked, pushing my husband towards the ocean. "We need some quiet for the art session. I'm borrowing your husband for a bit."

Seeing that my husband didn't object, I lay back down.

"What design do you want? And where should we put it?"

Michael Anderson's gaze was intense, like fire, roaming over the exposed skin of my body.

I felt incredibly self-conscious, my hands nervously twisting together in front of my chest. "Just like with Katie, right?"

Michael Anderson nodded slightly. "When I'm working, I need a quiet environment. So, please don't talk to me until I'm done—I need to focus."

I quickly agreed, feeling the cool, smooth sensation of the henna paste on my skin. "Glad I got that waxing done before the trip."
