Chapter 4

Suddenly, my body got incredibly excited - so this is what I looked like when I was... needy!

As if by unspoken agreement, Tom grabbed my hair and started drying it strand by strand, looking completely focused.

Over the roar of the hairdryer, his firm, hot abdomen pressed against my back, and our bodies began to unconsciously grind against each other at that point of contact.

Being married before, I knew exactly what he was doing.

But it had been so long since I'd felt this kind of electricity from a man's touch.

Tom got bolder with his movements. My back arched involuntarily, my whole body turning to jelly. Every muscle felt weak, like I was melting.

I felt like I was floating, and God help me, I was enjoying it. I didn't want him to stop.

When the hair dryer finally went quiet, his voice came out husky. "All done."

I silently slipped into bed, diving under the covers.

Tom turned off the lights and got in from the other side.

In the darkness, we both lay there without a word. We knew what the other was thinking, but neither dared to make the first move - like whoever spoke first would lose this silent game.

I sneaked a peek at him from under the covers, feeling oddly disappointed. Wasn't he interested in me?

But he was the one who'd started this whole thing.

Every time I closed my eyes, I remembered what I'd seen in the shower. The memory of him pressing against me earlier made sleep impossible.

When I closed my eyes - those thoughts.

When I opened them - still those thoughts.

The heat building inside me was unbearable. I found myself slipping off my nightgown under the covers.

But that only made things worse - the sheets against my bare skin made me more sensitive than ever.

Never in my life had I wanted a man this badly.

"Mmm..." A small sound escaped my lips as I squeezed my legs together, fighting the burning need. My toes curled as I bit my lip, trying to control the ache inside.

"Everything okay? Are you feeling alright?" Tom asked, obviously still awake.

"I'm... fine," I mumbled into the covers, mortified. "Why aren't you sleeping?"
