After a five-minute talk with Sophia, I start feeling calmer.

Once I hang up, Ella pours some tea and sits on a stool at the kitchen counter.

"I miss her," I sigh, taking a seat across from her.

"I do too," Ella says.

I check the clock - it's 4 AM.

I've gotten some sleep, but after such a long day, I know I need more.
