Ava’s POV:

I stroll back through the forest toward the pack.

Suddenly, I hear loud, piercing screams.

I stop dead in my tracks and look around; Puna is instantly alert.

I listen - the screaming is coming from behind me, from the direction where I sent the vampires.

I spin around and sprint back toward where I sent the vampires.

I run as fast as I can. The screaming gets louder as I get closer.
