Ava’s POV:

Kevin and Ella are staring at me, their mouths hanging open.

"Just hear me out," I say, but Kevin shakes his head as he sits down on the bed. "No, Ava," he says, looking at me, "We can't take care of him. He belongs to someone else, and we don't know what he needs, and he is-" A growl interrupts him.

I spin around to look at Ella, shocked. She never growls, especially not at Kevin.
