In the morning, the sunlight shone through the curtains on the floor of the bedroom.
Charlie slowly opened his eyes and looked at Nancy sleeping in his arms. He gave a gentle smile and bent down to kiss her forehead.
"Hmm..."
Nancy moved and opened her eyes to look at him.
"Awake?"
"Hmm."
Nancy mumbled and wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Honey, thank you for this time."
Charlie chuckled softly, "I'm your husband."
Nancy pouted, knowing that he didn't understand what she meant, but she couldn't ask him about his biological mother. She could only raise her head and give him a kiss on his chin. "Okay, then I'll get up."
Charlie had been worried that she would be overwhelmed by the sorrow of losing her father when she woke up this morning, but she seemed to be fine as if nothing had happened.
He didn't want to bring up her sadness anymore, so he gently patted her back. "Alright."
After getting dressed, Nancy finally looked at him. "I'm going to visit the Mirren Family. My dad... Young Master Lesser may have forgotten about the past, but Lily must still remember."
Charlie's eyes dimmed slightly. It seemed that she still cared about her identity.
"Okay, I'll accompany you."
Samuel never expected that Charlie and Nancy would come together early in the morning.
He greeted them with a smile and instructed the maid to prepare tea.
"Mr. Mirren, where's my mom?"
"Lily..."
Samuel glanced upstairs and said apologetically, "She's still sleeping."
When Nancy furrowed her brows slightly, he quickly added, "Please wait for a moment. I'll go wake her up."
Lily was pulled out of bed by Samuel. She had originally planned to put on some makeup, but Samuel dragged her downstairs directly.
Looking at Nancy, Lily frowned impatiently, "Why did you come to me so early?"
Nancy stood up and said, "Mom, I want to talk to you alone."
Alone...
Lily glanced at Charlie and pondered whether Nancy wanted to talk to her alone or if she wanted to talk to her while Charlie was present.
Nancy helplessly said, "Just you and me."
"Fine."
Lily waved her hand impatiently, "Follow me."
After entering the study, Nancy intentionally closed and locked the door and then sat with Lily on the sofa.
Looking at Lily's messy hair and casual clothes, Nancy calmly said, "I found my dad."
"Hmm?"
Lily paused for a moment and then gave Nancy a disdainful look, "So what? He's just my ex-husband. I have no relationship with him."
She shouted angrily, "Nancy, you came to bother me early in the morning for such a trivial matter? Listen, I don't have money. I've given it all to you. Aren't you Mrs. Firth now? You don't lack money. Can you stop bothering me about your father?"
Listening to her angry roar, Nancy calmly asked, "Do you know the Lesser family from Liverton?"
"Hmm?"
Lily was slightly taken aback and instinctively asked, "Are you talking about the top family in the country?"
"Yes."
Nancy nodded and tilted her head, "My dad is the eldest son of the Lesser family from Liverton."
