Chapter 293: Ambition Is a Good Thing

"Okay."

Vivian didn't dare to be too disrespectful in front of Andrew, so she clenched her teeth and shut up.

Andrew could tell what she was thinking from her dejected look.

...

In the evening, Alexander returned to the Lesser family's mansion and was about to go straight to his room when he was stopped by Andrew sitting outside their yard.

Alexander walked over and respectfully asked, "Dad, do you need something?"

Andrew raised his hand and pointed to the stone bench next to him. Alexander understood and sat down on the bench, pretending to listen attentively as he looked at Andrew.

"Alexander, how have you been with Vivi lately? How does it work in your bedroom?"

Upon hearing this, Alexander felt irritated. He knew that Vivian must have said something to Andrew, otherwise, Andrew wouldn't ask him about this out of the blue.

He licked his lips and replied humbly, "Dad, you know about my family situation. I married Vivi as a live-in son-in-law, but my dad's legal wife is unable to have children. My two brothers and I are all illegitimate children. One of us will definitely inherit the Caine family. So... I'm really busy now and may not have taken good care of Vivi..."

"Ambition is a good thing."

Andrew nodded approvingly, "But Alexander, if you can't handle the affairs of your own family, how can you have the ability to compete for the Caine family? You've known about the situation of the Lesser family. Both of my brothers have daughters, and the Lesser family has lost its heir in your generation."

Alexander nodded.

"You are the live-in son-in-law of the Lesser family. When you compete for the Caine family, I will definitely support you. But if you have a son with Vivi and give him the last name Lesser, then all of my possessions will belong to him. Do you understand?"

Alexander nodded humbly. He understood everything Andrew said.

But what he cared more about was the Caine family. When he married Vivian, it was only to leverage Vivian's identity as a daughter of the Lesser family and gain an advantage in the competition for the Caine family. He truly had no desire for the Lesser family.

The thought of being intimate with Vivian made him feel disgusted!

Whenever he saw Vivian's face, he would remember how she looked when he picked her up in City Nustin – messy, uncultured, and with oil smeared all over her face.

Some people may come from humble backgrounds, but the nobility in their character made them worthy of respect. Some people may be born with a silver spoon in their mouth, but they were contemptible.

Vivian looked so much like Nancy and had totally different experiences. Why couldn't she be as pure and noble as Nancy?

After the talk with Andrew, Alexander returned to his own yard.

Vivian sat on the sofa with her feet arrogantly resting on the coffee table, holding a fruit plate in her hands. Upon seeing Alexander, she only glanced at him casually, picked up a grape, and put it into her mouth.

After chewing, she tilted her head and spat out the grape seeds.

Alexander glanced at her and noticed grape seeds all over the sofa and coffee table!

Alexander took a deep breath to resist the urge to drag Andrew in and make him see just how messy his precious daughter really was!

How could he sleep with such a woman?

He was truly afraid he would vomit!
