"Alright, alright, then wait for me."
Nancy ended the call and looked at Charlie, Andrew, and Alexander with an indescribable expression on her face.
Andrew, knowing that Nancy's decision to save Vivian was solely for his sake, sighed and patted her shoulder.
"Nan, thank you. Once we get Vivi back, I'll make sure to discipline her properly."
Nancy didn’t say much. She picked a shoulder bag, put her phone in it, and casually walked out the door.
"You two stay here, don't go anywhere," she instructed Andrew and Alexander.
Charlie, having said this to Andrew and Alexander, followed Nancy out.
Andrew was feeling a mix of emotions, hard to articulate.
He knew how much Charlie and Nancy disliked Vivian, yet now they were going to save her because of him.
He couldn't perceive the true feelings of Charlie and Nancy, but he knew this task must be distasteful for them.
He shook his head and sighed again, walking to the window.
From this spot at the window, he could perfectly see the street below, allowing him to observe everything happening.
Alexander joined him, each of them standing by one side of the window, discreetly peering down.
Alexander’s feelings differed from Andrew's. He was very nervous, yes, extremely nervous. Even though Charlie’s men had control over the entire street, he couldn’t help but feel anxious.
His concern was not for Vivian, but for Nancy.
He even thought to himself, as long as Nancy was safe, it didn't matter to him if Vivian lived or died.
While they were lost in their thoughts, Nancy's figure slowly appeared in their line of sight...
At the hotel entrance, Nancy immediately spotted the van parked under the streetlights on the opposite side of the road.
Pretending to be oblivious, she glanced around as she walked out of the hotel's front gate and then stood by the roadside, frowning as if trying to locate someone. "Vivian?"
"I'm here."
The van's door slid open, revealing Vivian's panicked face. "Nancy, come over here."
Nancy, standing on this side of the road, looked at the van across the street, Vivian inside. She felt a sense of relief.
As long as the kidnappers had really brought Vivian, that was good enough.
"Ah, you're annoying."
She snapped, feigning irritation. "It’s you asking me for money, not the other way around. Vivian, when you ask for help, you should at least show some humility. Are you expecting me to hurry over and give you the money?"
Apart from the driver, there were four others in the van. Hearing Nancy's words, they all looked disdainfully at Vivian.
To be so despised and still have the nerve to ask for money?
They couldn’t imagine doing such a thing.
This, however, disrupted their initial plan.
They had intended to use Vivian to lure Nancy over, capture her, and then quickly stuff Nancy into the van and leave.
But Nancy wasn't coming over; she was at least twenty meters away. If they all suddenly charged out, Nancy would definitely retreat cautiously.
Moreover, their biggest fear was startling Nancy, causing her to turn and run. Considering Nancy's distance from the hotel entrance, she would likely reach the entrance before they could catch her...
