"Nan, Nan..."
Charlie, seeing Nancy's bleeding hand, quickly approached her. "Let me see."
He carefully held Nancy's hand and examined it. His deep eyes reddened with rage as he saw the wound, and his entire demeanor turned icy...
Andrew and Alexander also rushed over, and when they saw the small hand Charlie was holding, both their pupils dilated in shock.
The once beautiful palm was now streaming with blood, particularly around the center and fingers, where deep, long cuts were visible.
The sight made their hearts tremble with pain.
How much pain must Nancy be in? Everyone knows that injury to the fingers is intensely painful.
"Nan..."
Andrew, feeling guilty, pursed his lips, his eyes reddening and his nose tingling. "Your hand..."
Nancy was indeed in pain.
The knife's blade was sharp on both sides. The agony of the blade piercing her skin made her want to let go immediately.
But she couldn't at that moment. The man had lost his sanity, and if she had let go, Vivian's life would have been in danger. In the heat of the moment, she decisively gripped the dagger tightly.
Her eyebrows were tightly knitted in pain, but she forced a smile on her face. "I'm fine, my hand just looks a bit scary. It really doesn't hurt that much..."
"It doesn't hurt?"
Alexander burst out angrily. "Look at you, your eyebrows are all furrowed, and you're sweating coldly!"
His sudden outburst startled Vivian, who was still reeling from the shock.
It was then that she began to regain her senses.
Seeing the concern in Charlie's deep eyes, Andrew's guilt, and Alexander's seemingly frantic but genuinely worried and caring demeanor, she felt a fresh wound in her young heart.
"What are you doing!?"
She yelled at the three men. "I was the one kidnapped and threatened with a knife, and none of you even asked about me. You're all concerned about Nancy?"
What upset her most was that not only Charlie but her own father, Andrew, and her husband, Alexander, hadn’t even glanced at her...
Hearing her words, Andrew’s guilt towards Nancy instantly turned into anger towards Vivian. The anger was tinged with profound disappointment, causing his body to tremble slightly.
"Vivi, it was Nan who saved you! Do you realize how important hands are to a pianist? Yet, even so, she used her own hand to block that sharp knife for you at the moment of life and death. And you, you can't even be grateful, throwing a tantrum at a time like this!?"
Vivian had been holding back her anger. Andrew's scolding made her tears uncontrollable, and she clenched her fists tightly at her sides, screaming back in anguish.
"Why was I kidnapped? Wasn't it because of Nancy? It was just her blocking a knife for me. Can any of you understand the terror and fear I experienced today?"
