Andrew Lesser sighed heavily. At least Alexander Caine had spared Vivian Lesser a glance, but he didn’t even look at her as he wearily followed onto the car.
Soon, the street quieted down.
The security team captured all the kidnappers and took them away.
The cars quickly vanished, leaving Vivian standing alone on the street.
She engulfed in a sudden sense of loneliness and abandonment.
She felt unloved and uncared for, like a whirlwind of desolation sweeping through her.
Why was it like this?
Why did everyone care about Nancy, show her love, while she was left without anyone’s concern or affection?
...
At the hospital.
After Nancy Swinton's hand was bandaged, she looked at it, wrapped up layers by layers, and pouted discontentedly.
"How am I supposed to do anything with my hand like this?"
Charlie Firth sat beside her, his face stern but his eyes betraying his concern.
"You don't need to do anything. Just rest."
"But how can that be?"
Nancy said, swinging her bandaged hand. "I still need to eat..."
"I'll feed you," Charlie replied, causing Nancy’s fair face to turn red.
She glanced awkwardly at Andrew and Alexander sitting nearby and huffed, "But I still have to attend the training camp!"
Charlie’s expression darkened. "You're injured like this, and you still want to attend the training camp?"
"Yes!"
Nancy nodded earnestly. "Why am I here in Taurus? To attend the training camp, right? And this time, the way the organizers looked down on us... if it weren’t for you, we’d still be staying in that cheap hotel. I don't just represent myself; I represent Henriana's piano standards!"
With determination in her amber eyes, she added, "I'll show them that Henriana's piano level is no less than that of Europe and America. I won’t let anyone look down on Henriana people attending the training camp in the future!"
Her passionate words would have normally stirred a sense of national pride in Charlie and Andrew, but now, seeing her bandaged hand, they felt only worry and heartache.
Charlie was firm, "Henriana’s piano standards can be proven by Linda. You don’t need to. Just stay here and heal. In two days, I’ll take you home."
Just then, the door burst open. Luna Green and Linda Smith rushed in, worried.
Seeing Nancy’s hand, Luna’s eyes immediately reddened. "Nan, what happened? Why is your hand like that? Is it serious? Does it hurt?"
Nancy and Luna had spent some time together. Luna had indeed wronged Nancy in the past when she was with Vivian, but Nancy could tell that Luna’s current concern and distress were genuine.
"It's okay, Luna..."
Nancy smiled playfully. "It’s nothing serious, but it might affect my performance. If I don't make it through the elimination round, we'll just have to return home, unfortunately."
