Nancy and Linda shifted their attention from Vivian back to the girl who had just spoken. Standing before them was a pretty girl with blonde hair and blue eyes.
She was accompanied by three others, clearly from the same country.
Nancy stayed silent, observing the girl with an unyielding defiance, unlike Vivian’s provocative behavior.
Linda, on the other hand, was not one to remain quiet. She raised her chin with pride and retorted, “Yes, Nan here is the one whom Hamya and David fought over to give the direct pass card. What’s it to you? Do you have a problem?”
The blonde-haired, blue-eyed girl didn’t even glance at Linda. Her gaze was fixed firmly on Nancy. “You seem quite skilled. Dare to have a piano duel with me?”
A duel?
Nancy wasn’t keen on starting conflicts before the camp even began.
Besides, her hand was not fully healed.
She smiled lightly, showing her bandaged left hand.
“I'm afraid I can’t. My hand is injured..."
Then she looked at the girl and asked, "You’re not thinking of bullying a ‘disabled’ person, are you?”
Nancy was right, she was indeed "disabled".
The blonde girl's pupils visibly shook. She had heard that Nancy was injured during the elimination round, but she hadn’t expected the injury to be on her left hand.
Nancy’s ability to perform so impressively despite such an injury must indicate her formidable talent.
Her companions, however, didn’t grasp this. One of them scoffed, “Are you scared? Did you pretend to be injured just because you knew someone would challenge you today?”
Another girl joined in with disdain, “Exactly! The piano world has always been dominated by us. When have people from Henriana ever stood out? If there had been better pianists in your round, you wouldn’t have stood a chance.”
Linda’s face darkened at their racist remarks, “Who’s afraid of you, you bunch of racists!” she retorted defiantly.
Before another girl could speak, the blonde-haired girl interrupted, silencing them with a stern look.
She then turned back to Nancy, “I don’t mean to disrespect Huaxia people. I simply wanted to challenge you. But since your hand is injured, let’s wait for another time. There will be opportunities.”
After saying this, she took a seat beside Nancy and fell silent.
Her companions, sitting on her other side, pouted in dissatisfaction.
“Alice, why are you being so polite to her? We shouldn’t lower ourselves. We are the true piano legacy.”
“Right, what’s Henriana compared to us? Even if a dispute arises, the organizers won’t side with them; they'll favor us.”
“There are so many of our countrymen among the organizers. Why should we fear them?”
“Shut up!”
Alice scolded, silencing them again before returning her gaze forward.
To her, ancestral heritage and glory meant little. Her true goal was to genuinely defeat her opponents.
