Dinner with the big shots!?
Nancy’s expression instantly turned awkward.
Before, Luna Green had told her, whether in the entertainment or art circle, someone needs to invest for opportunities to stand out. Capital is crucial in any branch of the entertainment industry.
At that time, Luna assured Nancy that with Charlie around, she wouldn’t need to dine and smile with any capital because her husband was the biggest shot. To make her famous, all it took was money.
She really hadn't expected that by participating in an overseas training camp, such a "great opportunity" would fall into her lap.
Seeing her reluctance, David frowned disapprovingly.
"What? You don’t want to go?"
Nancy looked troubled, “It’s not that I don’t want to, it’s just my hand is injured, and it might be inconvenient.”
“That doesn’t matter, you won’t have to play the piano then.”
David looked at Nancy sternly, “You should know, this is an opportunity others beg for. If I didn’t genuinely like you and want you to have a broader future after leaving the camp, I wouldn’t take you.”
Nancy gave a wry smile, “I...”
“Alright, enough of that.”
David interrupted her, his voice firm, “This big shot is quite impressive. If you make a good impression today, you could look to him for a global tour in the future, especially in Europe and America. Think about it, even us four judges are going, that's quite an honor, right?”
His words were indeed true.
The organizer personally inviting them and also calling the four judges clearly indicated the big shot’s importance to the organizer – definitely no ordinary person.
This was Nancy's first time interacting with David, and she didn’t want to make things too awkward, especially since David had picked Linda first for her.
Thinking of this, Nancy's lips curved into a slight smile, and she gently grabbed Linda’s arm, “Sir, there's not much difference between bringing one and two, right?”
David paused, instinctively glancing at Linda.
He had deliberately checked the score sheet earlier and knew Linda was in the top ten, clearly a promising talent.
So, he generously waved his hand, “Let’s go!”
Nancy and Linda exchanged a joyful look, then stood up and happily followed him.
Clearly, the judge who approached Alice was talking about the same thing.
Nancy and Linda saw her walking ahead of them, following that judge.
The other two judges also each brought a student along.
When they saw David coming out with two people, Hamya’s face instantly soured.
“David, you really have no shame!”
David scoffed at him, lifting his slightly chubby chin arrogantly, “So, personal attacks just because you couldn’t outdo me? Hey, let me tell you, I'm not buying your tactics!”
After speaking, he turned around, pulling Nancy’s arm, deliberately bringing her in front of Hamya, “These two are close sisters. If I’m bringing someone, naturally I’ll bring both. What’s the problem? Am I bringing too many people for the organizers to afford this meal?”
