Chapter 396: Even with One Hand, I Can Easily Defeat You

During the toast to Charlie Firth, Charlie remained seated. However, upon seeing David, he immediately stood up.

David was slightly taken aback and smiled, pleasantly surprised, "You don't have to stand up on my account."

"Oh, it's fine,"

Charlie picked up his glass and proactively clinked it with David’s, then turned his gaze towards Nancy Swinton.

"I must tell you, I've heard Nancy play the piano a long time ago and was deeply impressed by her talent. She is a gifted pianist, a true genius. I know she is part of your team, so I hope you'll take good care of her in the future."

"What!?"

Not only David but also the other judges and girls were stunned.

They finally understood why Charlie was so favorable towards Nancy. He was a fan of hers!

This revelation unsettled Lucy and Rivata, and even Alice felt a mix of emotions.

They believed in their own piano skills, recognized as the most talented pianists in their countries. How could any of them be inferior to Nancy?

It was just because Charlie had heard Nancy play before and not them. They were sure that once Charlie heard them play, Nancy wouldn't stand a chance!

Lucy and Zach exchanged glances. After a brief exchange of looks, Zach turned and tugged at Alice's sleeve.

Clearly, all three were quite indignant.

Alice, who had been quiet and hadn't actively ingratiated herself with Charlie, finally spoke up.

"Smith," she said, "I don't agree with what Mr. Firth just said. I hope the organizers can invite Mr. Firth to the first public competition!"

Smith rolled his eyes in silence. Didn't they know something he was well aware of?

Nancy was Charlie's wife!

He thought, 'These young girls are really racing to get themselves into trouble!'

Even if Nancy's piano playing wasn't great, in Charlie's eyes, she was still the best.

Apart from David, the other three judges sensed Smith's reluctance and spoke up.

"Smith, it's understandable the girls are not satisfied. Each of them is the pride of their country. Maybe Nancy is indeed good, but true talent needs to be shown."

"Yes, young people naturally have a competitive spirit. I think Mr. Firth wouldn't refuse the invitation, right?"

Although Hamya had heard Nancy play, he also wanted to give his team members a chance and agreed, "Yes, they make a good point."

David raised an eyebrow and turned to them with his casual demeanor, unable to suppress his triumphant mood.

"Hey, who's afraid! Our Nancy is exceptionally gifted. Even with one hand, we can easily defeat you!"

His words immediately worsened the mood of the three girls opposite, and even the judges looked disapproving.

Seeing the situation getting out of control, Charlie smirked, holding his glass and turning to Smith, he gestured, "Since everyone is so enthusiastic, I'll accept the invitation and attend the competition."
