Chapter 423: Are You Chickening Out Now?

Tomorrow?

That's right, tomorrow is the first public competition of the training camp!

The hundred pianists participating in the camp, all meticulously dressed, entered the competition venue with their mentors early in the morning.

Unlike other competitions, the public contest did not require contestants to prepare backstage. Instead, all participants sat in the audience, taking turns to perform on stage as per the draw order.

Piano being a noble art, most of the pianists came from well-off families. The cheapest pianos cost several tens of thousands, not to mention the weekly expenses for piano lessons. This was not something an average family could afford.

Therefore, the audience invited to the public competition wasn't large, but in Taurus City of Ryeland, these guests were either wealthy or of high social status.

The audience entered the venue first and soon saw young pianists from various countries entering arm in arm with their teachers, drawing exclamations of surprise and recognition.

"Wow, that's Reilien!"

"My goodness, that's Hendry! I was planning to have my son apprentice under him. I can't believe he's here. I'll have to network with him later."

The pianists, hearing their names called out, felt proud, and so did their students, basking in the reflected glory of their famous teachers.

Nancy and Linda waited at the entrance for Andrew and Patrick, watching other participants and their mentors enter. They were in no rush.

"Linda, are you nervous?"

Linda, hands behind her back and a smile on her doll-like face, responded, "Why should I be nervous? I'm performing with you. Shouldn't you be the one who's nervous?"

Nancy chuckled, playfully grabbing Linda's arm.

"What are you talking about? Weren't you always confident, Miss Smith? What, chickening out now?"

"I'm not chickening out!"

Linda shook her shoulders proudly, "I'm just really happy to perform with you. Honestly, Nan, I feel like I'm the one holding you back. It's a good thing you and Vivian aren't on good terms; otherwise, you'd be performing with her instead of me."

As they chatted, ten black Rolls-Royces smoothly approached. Seeing the license plates, Nancy's face lit up with joy, "They're finally here!"

They greeted the arrivals eagerly.

Charlie was the first to step out of the car. Nancy, excited, threw her arms around him in a big hug.

"Heh..."

Charlie looked down at the brightly dressed girl, asking softly, "So, you're not afraid of people knowing about us now?"

"Not at all!"

Nancy stepped back, hands behind her back, smiling playfully, "You're my fan now. As an idol, what's wrong with hugging you?"

"Hahaha..."

Andrew joined them, laughing, "Nan's right. It's normal for idols to hug their fans."

Charlie chuckled and nodded, "Makes sense. You all go ahead, I'll meet Smith backstage."

"Okay."

Nancy waved goodbye to Charlie, then took Andrew's arm.

Linda, arm in arm with Patrick Hastings, followed them towards the venue.

After a few steps, Nancy suddenly turned to Andrew with concern, "Master, are you really not letting Vivian join us? Without a mentor, she'll have to enter alone."
