Chapter 445: You're Too Mean!

"Cough cough…"

Nancy coughed lightly, giving Linda a cool glance. "Then you probably won’t get married in this lifetime. Who in the world could be better than my husband?"

"Awooo…"

Linda howled in frustration, punching Nancy's shoulder playfully. "Nan, you’re too mean!"

"Am I wrong?" Nancy raised her eyebrows smugly.

"Uh…"

Linda deflated, her fingers timidly touching each other. "Seems like it. My expectations are probably too high."

"It's okay, I was just teasing you."

Seeing Linda genuinely downcast, Nancy laughed and linked arms with her. "Let's go have fun."

The mention of fun immediately erased Linda's previous thoughts. She eagerly ran towards the cars, "Let's go, time to have fun!"

The H Town was a bit far from Nancy’s hotel, requiring a half-hour drive.

As soon as they got out of the car, Nancy and Linda were deeply attracted to the bustle of H Town.

"Wow! There are so many people here, and most of them seem to be Henrianan."

"Of course."

Nancy rubbed her hands excitedly. "This H Town is home to many Henrianan."

"Yay!"

Linda, like a Husky off its leash, dashed into a shop, not even caring what was being sold.

Nancy shook her head in amusement. Suddenly turning back, she noticed that the people who had come with them were nowhere to be seen.

"Huh?"

She asked curiously. "Honey, where are they?"

Charlie gently held her hand. "Don’t worry, they are in the shadows, following us closely. It's safe."

"That's good."

Nancy exhaled in relief, patting her chest. "You scared me. I thought all those people were going to follow us. That would be like being observed like animals rather than going shopping."

"Don't worry."

Charlie, holding her hand, quickened his pace. "Hurry up, or we’ll lose Linda."

True enough, Linda had dashed into a shop. Nancy laughed and chased after her with Charlie.

It was wonderful to be out and about!

Although many of Chinatown's items were expensive, Nancy and Linda were very interested. They entered almost every shop, buying things they liked. Soon, Charlie’s hands were filled with bags.

But every time he had too many, someone would come out and take them from him.

"Hey…"

Linda pointed to a jade shop ahead. "Nan, they sell jade there. Shall we take a look?"

"Sure."

As soon as Nancy agreed, Linda pulled her towards the shop.

As the girls approached the entrance, they paused, noticing an elderly man around sixty lying on a rattan chair, sunbathing at the door.

Seemingly unaware of their presence, he didn’t even open his eyes.

Assuming he was asleep, the girls tiptoed into the shop.

But the store was completely empty, unlike other shops bustling with customers or staff.

Besides the old man, there was no one else.
