The elderly man was momentarily surprised by Charlie's question, but he answered, "There must be at least a hundred or so."
"Okay."
Charlie nonchalantly took out his card and handed it to the old man, "I'll take them all. Since my wife likes to play with them, I want her to have as much fun as she wants."
"All of them?"
The entire situation not only shocked the old man but Linda as well.
It's normal to spend a large sum on a piece of jade jewelry, but spending it on a bunch of half-finished jade beads just for the sake of entertainment seemed extremely extravagant.
However, Linda quickly recovered from her astonishment, looking at the old man with the same arrogant eyes he had used earlier.
"What are you waiting for? My brother-in-law said he'll buy them all. Hurry up and swipe the card. Don't later claim we were just kidding."
The old man's expression was as uncomfortable as if he had swallowed a fly.
He had just been publicly shown up. Although his items were indeed expensive, Charlie's action put him in an awkward position.
Nevertheless, as a businessman, he wouldn't let money slip through his fingers.
He processed the payment with a much-improved attitude.
"All right, these jade beads are all yours now. The colorful ropes are free, so feel free to play as you wish."
"Hahaha..."
Linda, who had never experienced such casual luxury, was thrilled.
She asked eagerly.
"Nan, can I play with you?"
"Of course."
Nancy responded, pushing the tray of jade beads towards Linda. "There are so many colorful ropes, we can play as long as we like."
"Can we sit there and take our time?" Nancy asked.
The old man laughed, "Of course! I'll make you some coffee."
After moving to a seating area, Nancy thanked the old man, who went off to brew some coffee.
Charlie, less interested in the craft, happily sat beside Nancy, watching her skillfully handle the red ropes.
Curious, Charlie asked, "Nan, are you planning to make a 'lovers' knot'?"
"Why would I?"
Nancy responded, her fingers nimbly working on the ropes. "You are right beside me. I can see you whenever I wish. Why would I need a 'lovers' knot'?"
Charlie smiled, his heart warmed.
Previously, Nancy had been resistant to him, but she gradually opened up to him. His seemingly casual question was a subtle probe into her feelings.
Her response clearly positioned him as the most significant man in her life.
