Chapter 457: We Can't Be Nancy's Stepping Stone!

"We should not only go ourselves, but also invite people from other groups. If things are this unfair, we all might as well quit, and let Nancy play alone in the training camp. Let's see what Smith can do then!"

"Right! Either Nancy leaves, or we do! We must firmly resist this unfairness; we cannot become Nancy's stepping stone!"

The next day.

After practicing for a while in the morning, Nancy checked the time on her phone and then stood up.

"Linda, I'm going to step out for a bit. You can keep practicing, or you can take a break if you want."

Linda, her hands resting on the piano, looked up at Nancy with a teasing smile. "Going to meet your husband, huh? Heh, you see him every day and you're still not tired of it?"

Nancy's face blushed slightly, and she shot Linda a playful glare. "I only see my husband for an hour each day. And besides, if he doesn't come, what would you eat?"

"Oh my..."

Linda teased, smacking her lips. "I'm really at the mercy of others when I'm relying on them, aren't I? The moment you bring that up, I don't even know what to say."

"Hehe..."

Nancy knew Linda was just joking. She waved her hand and said, "Good to know. I'm off then."

"Alright, Your Highness, take your time. And don't forget to bring me something tasty!"

Nancy left the room, smiling. The hallway was eerily quiet, not a single person in sight.

She paused, slightly surprised, looking around.

Although there were fewer people after entering the second public competition, there were always some sounds of piano playing.

But today, the silence was unusual.

Wondering if everyone was coincidentally resting at this time, Nancy didn't ponder too much on it.

She confidently headed towards Smith's office.

Perhaps due to the strange feeling in her heart, she occasionally looked around as she walked. Seeing no one, she quickened her pace.

Reaching the door of Smith's office, she glanced around again to confirm there was no one before turning the knob and stepping inside.

"Dear..."

Seeing Charlie still sitting there, Nancy happily walked over. She sat on his lap and wrapped her arms around his neck, already accustomed to this routine.

"What tasty treat did you bring me today?"

"Hehe..."

Charlie chuckled, picking up a bag from the side and placing it on the coffee table.

"My little foodie, every time you see me, your first question is about food. I feel like I've become your delivery guy, responsible for your daily takeout."

"Haha!"

Nancy laughed heartily, knowing Charlie was just teasing her. She leaned in and planted a loud kiss on his cheek. "Thank you, dear!"

"That's more like it!"

Charlie felt a deep sense of happiness. Though he could only see Nancy for an hour each day, those moments were precious.

He never experienced the usual dating phase with Nancy due to their unique circumstances.

So, every hour spent with her during this training camp felt like a sweet and blissful courtship.
