Nancy wasn’t naive. Her reputation hadn't soured just because of the ambiguous relationship she displayed with Charlie at the banquet.
That single incident wasn't enough to make everyone despise and hate her.
Lucy's face was a picture of embarrassment. Before Nancy, she had lost all her confidence and could only weep pathetically.
"Nancy, I really realize my mistake. Please, can you forgive me?"
"Lucy, your intentions were too malicious. You even used Rivata as a pawn. Honestly, I'm quite impressed by your cunning."
Even as she said this, Nancy’s expression remained calm, speaking as if she was chatting with a close friend.
"You alone manipulated the hearts of all the girls in the camp, using others as pawns for your scheme. Your goal was to drive me out of the camp, right? Congratulations, you achieved it. You should be happy. Why are you crying?"
Nancy's words made the surrounding girls reflect deeply.
Upon reconsidering the past events, they finally realized the truth.
Though Rivata was initially displeased with Nancy at the banquet, it was Lucy who had spread negative rumors about Nancy afterwards, portraying her as a woman who climbed the ladder through men.
The next day, after speaking with Rivata, she joined Lucy in slandering Nancy in front of everyone.
In fact, they hadn’t directly targeted Nancy until she won the first public competition. Envy blinded them, leading them to join Lucy in forcing Nancy out of the camp.
Realizing this, Sophie cried out, "Wow, Lucy, you’ve been scheming from the start, and we all fell for it!"
"Yes, we had no quarrel with Nancy. It was you who stirred up trouble!"
Hearing this, Lucy turned and glared at them, "Blame me? Weren’t you all jealous of Nancy too? If you were content, would you have been so easily swayed by my few words?"
Seeing the girls speechless after her retort, she scoffed, "Blaming me while your own conscience is clouded, have your consciences been eaten by dogs?"
This provoked immediate backlash.
"Lucy, you're shameless, dragging us all down with your schemes..."
"Couldn't beat Nancy yourself, so you used us. Where’s your shame? Eaten by dogs?"
As the argument escalated, Sophie shouted angrily.
"Stop it! We're here to apologize to Nancy, to seek her forgiveness, not to fight in front of her!"
Her words immediately silenced everyone, including Lucy, who realized she had lost her composure in front of Nancy. She quickly covered her mouth, then looked eagerly at Nancy.
Nancy shook her head in disbelief. These people were so easily swayed by others, quick to jump to conclusions. It was exhausting.
"Enough."
She was tired of wasting time with them and waved them off, "I forgive you. Now, please leave."
Their eyes lit up, especially Sophie, who was closest to Nancy, asked in surprise, "Nancy, do you really forgive us?"
