Even Tina, with her cold demeanor, couldn't help but chuckle at Young Master Micheal's words.
It was indeed the pain of their family.
In other families, having a son was a difficult task, and once born, there was a preference for boys over girls. Ironically, in their family, having a daughter was as hard as reaching the heavens, causing difficulties for the younger generations and weakening the bonds between family members.
Realizing she shouldn't be laughing, Tina immediately composed herself, "Young Master Micheal, you have to understand, the matter of family succession is important. The young masters are either uninterested, or even if they are, they dare not show it."
"Succession my foot!"
Young Master Micheal bit his lip in anger, "What era are we in to still treasure such things? Our family's legacy has long been outdated with the advancement of technology. What's the difference between having it and not? Why must we continue this legacy?"
As they conversed, the elevator dinged open.
Tina stepped out first, followed closely by Young Master Micheal and another man.
After a few steps, Tina suddenly stopped, "Young Master Micheal, the master's command is clear - apprehend on sight, and if there's resistance, eliminate! Be careful, that Charlie is not easy to handle."
Young Master Micheal cracked his neck, a mocking smile on his lips, "Afraid of what? Even if he has a gun, I can take him down. Besides, if I die in the line of duty, I won't be forced into matchmaking anymore. It would be a relief!"
Tina rolled her eyes silently, not responding, and wiped her coat hem, revealing a gun glinting with a cold light.
"Let's go!"
The three strode briskly towards the end of the corridor. As they reached it, Young Master Micheal and the other man drew their guns.
Tina led the way, expecting to have to force the door open, but to her surprise, it was already open.
She hesitated, then quickly stepped in.
Inside, a cleaning staff was changing sheets. Hearing footsteps, she turned and found a gun pointed at her forehead, screaming in terror, "Ah..."
Being an ordinary person, she was so frightened that she collapsed to the floor.
Seeing the formidable trio, she burst into tears, "I don't have any money, I really don't, I'm just a cleaner here..."
Tina looked around, frowning deeply, "Where are the guests who stayed here?"
"Guests?"
The cleaner blinked, then remembered something, "They checked out. If they hadn’t, how could I be cleaning the room?"
"Checked out!?"
Tina lowered her gun, feeling frustrated, "When did they check out?"
The cleaner sniffled, terrified, speaking rapidly, "About half an hour ago..."
Tina's brow furrowed, as if realizing something. She turned and ran without even putting away her gun, "To the airport! Go!"
Young Master Micheal also felt frustrated, having anticipated a big showdown only to find an empty room. He hoped they could catch them at the airport.
...
After a moment of silence, Nancy's feeling of unease grew stronger. She pursed her lips tightly and suddenly spoke loudly, "Jake, drive faster, get to the airport as quickly as possible!"
